An image of Andy Warhol's Rorschach graces the cover of Jay-Z's highly anticipated book Decoded.

The book is a narrative of the famous lyrics and life of the rapper. It is fully-illustrated book and decodes 36 songs from Jay-Z's catalog.

andy is still part of our pop culture world, he'd approve

  2. 2

    I'd rather read Hitler's memoir.

    hello no !

  4. 4

Yes, I will be requesting it from my very cool public library.

    Hell no!
That idiot (like all rappers) can't form a simple sentence much less lyrics. How the hell can he be expected to be part of a book? That performance on SNL was so much like a parody of a rapper I thought it was a skit. The sooner this rap garbage goes away the better.

Beautiful cover. Jay-Z must be paying the Warhol Foundation a fortune to use that image.

I know why he picked this…you can clearly see the Devil's face. Devil worshiper, Jay-Z!

Re: Lady_PopCulture – I'm sure more and more people are finding this out. But most have no idea.

It really bothers me that Jay Z feels as if his money entitles him access to Warhol's work. I'm sure he knows nothing and truly has no genuine respect for the work. It actually bothers me. It's as if he claims it- I've loved the Rorschach (and his other less noted similar works) forever and wish that Jay would create his own iconic material instead of building on top of everyone else. (ie Black Album/White Album. Empire State of Mind/New York State of Mind. Hard Knock Life/Annie- Broadway- Hardknock Life.) You've got the talent, hov. Build your own fucking empire…from scratch.

    No, I will not.
And don't know many rap fans who will either.

Re: fghrftg – That's a very broad generalization. Perhaps you should look into real rap artists such as Common, Nas and Talib Kwali. All individuals are very articulate but were oppressed due to socio-economic factors. This "rap garbage" you refer to is the over produced garbage that the media forces upon people and calls rap. Real rap is still alive but not as prominent.

    Learn your facts.

Aw come on MadHattress- he's not stealing, he's "sampling" lol, you know Decoded-DaVinci Code- think "big"

I wouldn't even check it out from the library.

Retarded how someone has made so much money out of nonsense blurbs. I like his music, when I am in a club and the sound bangs but anything else is not so "ICONIC". Him nor his wife are to workship. F'em both.
