More Idol Changes On The Way!

Although the new American Idol judges have just been announced, Fox's president of alternative programming Mike Darnell revealed that more changes were on the way for the hit TV show.

Interscope's Jimmy Iovine will be the new in-house mentor and Universal is now the music partner. And they don't plan on having guest mentors at all this season!

"At the moment no, mentors, Miley (Cyrus) or anybody else," said Iovine.

Contestants will no longer be removed from their comfort zones when it comes to different styles of music. The rounds will now be themed around decades.

"They have to present themselves much better," said executive producer Ken Warwick.

And there will be no guest judges this season - well, almost!

"We are sticking to 3 judges but if anyone else would add to it and help us, we’re open to the idea," added Warwick. "Like if Elton John picks up the phone and says he wants to come."

Ha. Lots of luck on that!

Themed around decades? Blegh. What they need to do is ditch the horrible segments bashing people with no talent or psychological problems.

Sounds just like season 1 to me, now if only they could get the contestants to go shopping for themselves and do their own hair and make up America might find a true singing star like Kelly Clarkson and not some cookie cutter Poptart that goes stale after the finale. Just sayin…
