Ha. Was James Franco unavailable?!

Clint Eastwood is finalizing plans to direct Hoover, a film about J. Edgar Hoover and his protégé, Clyde Tolson. The script, who was written by Dustin Lance Black, tells the story of the two assumed lovers that headed the FBI.

Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks for the role of Hoover and Joaquin Phoenix is rumored to be first choice for Tolson.

Hoover and Tolson were not only in close contact at the Bureau, but they dined, socialized and vacationed together. When Hoover died, Tolson became the beneficiary of his life-insurance policy, inherited his estate and eventually moved into his house.

Wowsa! Very inneresting.

My, my, my this film will be an epic. Hoover story will attract people from all sort of life. Leonardo DiCaprio to play the role may be a possibility for another Oscar nomination and he may grab it this time. I think I have to start saving money for the premiere night.

Not such a leap. I am sure Phoenix will give a wonderful performance.

Hoover-Tyson were very closeted to most. I watched a Larry King Live after Andrew Morton or some other writer had mentioned/discussed the relationship when a former FBI agent-confidant nearly came to blows, er fisticuffs denying such a same-sex relationship between these two "friends" existed. I hope Clint will show genius and not have these two overact the alleged closeted relationship…
I wonder who will play Roy Cohn?

This is just like Total Eclipse. A chance to see Leo get nasty with a guy and he's fuckin hideous wreck.

I hope Mr. Black and Mr. Eastwood acknowledge the historical enmity and distrust between Black people and gays.
Instead of being brothers united in a common civil rights struggle, Mr. Hoover used his position to scapegoat Black leaders, mislabel them as Communist (like MLK), and trample upon their rights. All the while, Hoover was in the closet.
Is it any wonder that Black Californians refused to jump on board the Prop 8 bandwagon? To this day, we are at each other's throats. Gays fought for and won funding for AIDS research and programs targeted to their communities, meanwhile, that same disease was wreaking havoc in Black communities.
Let's see if these filmmakers dare to touch upon the hypocrisy of the gay male elites.

Since I am one of the only living family members of Clyde Tolson I certainly would like to have some input into the lies that have been told about the relationship between Hoover and him. Maybe Clint can give me some tickets to the premier or give me a call. Most of what has been written is total bullshit…
