Dr. Frank Ryan Was Clean! Seriously…Don't Text and Drive!

Dr. Frank Ryan, who died last month in a fatal car accident, did NOT have any alcohol or substances in his body at the time of his death. His toxicology report came back 100% clean.

This is good news, because it's certainly nice to know that he wasn't driving under the influence, but it's also bad news, because it means that the cause of his death was solely text messaging.

Please…DO NOT TEXT MESSAGE WHILE DRIVING.

Dr. Ryan's untimely death was a tragedy, and the best thing we can do to honor his memory would be to learn a lesson from his tragic mistake, and pay attention to the road while we drive.

Has Dr. Ryan's death influenced your driving habits?

I have never texted while driving. This is tragic, but perhaps his death can make others realize one poor decision can have devastating and long lasting ramifications.

NO ONE “` IMO is important enough to text while driving!! Let them bitches wait until the driver is “done “` driving. This seems to be as bad as drinking and driving “ with so many innocent persons getting hurt as well. So what did people do before “` the cell phone craze?? They drove their fucking cars with both hands on the wheel and eyes ahead. They should BAND all cell phones while driving “““` Period. Drive you car and STFU already!!

Were you in the car with him Perez? How the hell could you know for FACT that he was texting when the accident occured? Answer is: YOU DON'T.

He could have swerved to miss an animal, his dog could have gotten in his way, another car may have been coming at him. FACT IS YOU DON'T KNOW; NO ONE KNOWS.

But people on here take your word as the GOSPEL TRUTH. How ridiculous.

I really wish his death influenced my driving habits, I mean I actually take what happened to him in consideration, yet I still: text, talk on phone, eat, change music on my itouch and etc while driving. It's just so hard not too. Poor guy. He clearly was healthy and seemed like an amazing person. So unfortunate…

Yes..his death has made me stop & say don't text. I know it's horrible, but I do text while driving sometimes. I've thought twice before doing it now thinking of what happened to him.

@Pacific Ocean Gal, im pretty sure forensics could work out that he was texting while driving if it was in the report, they observe everything about the crash, thats why they can tell the speed that people were going when they crashed and so forth because of how they observe the whole scene.

maybe people should pay more attention to oprah's "no phone pledge" so this could never happen again

Yesterday, when the distracted driver topic was all over the news, I was bummed out because all of the reporters seemed to cite examples of only women driving distracted. We heard about the woman who killed people while applying make-up, the woman who killed people while applying nail polish, Maria Shriver talking on the phone while driving, the girl who crashed her car while checking out the hot guy in the car next to her. I hate to say this, but it's refreshing to hear an example of a psudo-celebrity MALE paying the ultimate price for texting. I had an hour long daily commute and used to see a dude SHAVING in the car almost every single day!

His death should not be in vain. Let it be a lesson to EVERYONE - young or old, rich or poor - it only takes a split second. Also included in this lesson: it's one thing to take chances with your own life, but if you have LOVED ONES in the car with you as he did his dog, JUST DON'T DO IT! That made me so angry. I was so relieved to hear she had survived.

Re: Pacific Ocean Gal – It has been confirmed that he was using his cell phone just moments before his crash. He Tweeted that he was on the PCH then crashed a few minutes later.
