The Octo-Mom held a yard sale on Saturday and sold several personal items like bikinis, nursing bras, children's Halloween costumes and even charged $10 for a picture with her.
If you wanted a pic with her and the whole clan, you'd have to shell out a hundred bucks.
Nothing like whoring out your children to make an honest day's pay.

I think charging for photos is actually a really good idea to get the cash to provide for her family. I think it's kinda gross to buy a used bikini, but some people just like different things…*gag*

Hugh Hefner ought to make her an offer. A tasteful spread in Playboy would be better than seeing a mom of 14 doing porn, and at least as good as some random playmate when you know it would help put food and a roof over them all for a nice spell. You couldn't buy P.R. like that.
I honestly feel bad for the woman now. She's got 14 babies and has to resort to this to make money for her and her kids to survive. It's sad. All people can do is judge and dump on her, but while people are judging, she's still got 14 kids to raise and take care of. At least if the girl had a reality show or something she would have something coming in so that her . I don't see why people were so against that. Was it because she is single? I can think of at least two families with more than 7 kids that have reality shows on right now. She needs to do something to take care of those kids and she is going to need some help.

Have some compassion for the woman. She never whored out her kids. Kate Gosselin has done that and her kids are so miserable that their father wouldn't sign another contract.

A reality show with this woman and her litter of out-of-control children would be simply unwatchable. I bet the cameramen would quit. I saw a little segment of her "home life" on Oprah and it was absolute chaos and stress. Who wants to watch a TV show and feel stressed and fatigued afterwards? Not me.

I have two boys. I rescued them from kill-shelters and trained them to be pet therapy dogs. Now they visit people in hospitals, group homes and nursing homes.

I have trouble expressing how much love I have for two dogs, finding time to cuddle with them and give them super-long belly rubs. I cannot imagine how a mother can give 6-to-16 children enough affection in a day to make them feel loved.

Re: NYC2NJGal – I don't blame Kate Gosselin for getting paid to appear on shows, and interviews etc. What do you expect her to do - Go hoofing it to a nursing job for 10 hours a day. And who is going to babysit those children and pick them up everyday and get them up to go to school everyday if Kate is working on a 12 hour nursing shift. You see what a jerk her ex-husband is. I still don't think he has a job. She should continue to do what she is doing for as long as someone is stupid enough to pay her!

There were MANY times over the years I wanted more children but I knew that unless I was in a strong, stable marriage (preferably with a man who had some money) I just could not do it. So guess what. I DIDN"T HAVE ANYMORE CHILDREN! That is what SANE people do. Obviously, Octomom has some marbles loose. The truth is someone needs to step in and help this pathetic creature for the sake of her children.
Re: backfire – NOT TRUE! Jon Gosselin just did that because he found out that he was going to be taken off the show and a new show was going to be created called Kate plus 8. So he got his lawyer and found out that unless both parents agreed for their children to be on a show, he could stop her from having her new show and that is what he did AT FIRST. He was just trying to stick knives in her because he hated her for talking him into going back down to the fertility clinic and he ended up with 6 more children. Later on, when he realized that it would benefit him financially if Kate had her new show, that he told TLC that he would now allow his children back on television again. That's what really happened. I don't know what he is doing now but one of the things that he is NOT doing is WORKING.

Try to forgive me. I'm a guy, which there's nothing inherently wrong with being, except that I have cock which yields an inordinate amount of control over me which I have been trying to cope with since I was a teenager. I have been pretty successful in this endeavor, except when someone uses certain buzzwords - of which, "secretary" is one. "Nurse" is another.
I say charge for photos! Charge for an autograph! Pro athletes do it all the time. Why not? At least she is doing something to try to save her home.

I am retired now and my 'little boy' is grown. But I worked my butt off at work because they kept downsizing and eliminating the other clerical positions so they tripled my work load and I got no extra money for it. but anyway, I think the lives of these women like the Octomom and Kate G. is a horror story. I cannot imagine having all of those children AND NO HUSBAND TO BOOT and trying to survive. People today have totally lost their minds.

Re: SF90 – - I disagree. While a yard sale is a good way to produce some extra cash, she will never get out of her desperate situation unless she's willing to do more. She's close to having to go on welfare. I don't think the state of California wants to pay for her and her 14 kids. She had better consider the porn offer before the welfare, or she will be more hated than she is now.

It's in print again and I loved it! You could feel sorry for women back in those days who had 10, 15 or more children (Loretta had 6) because the women didn't have effective birth control. My grandmother had 10 and my great grandmother had 13-14 (I lost count). But Loretta said that if she had had the pill back in her day, she would have been swallowin em like popcorn! These women like the Octomom ARE NUTS! And she has NO HUSBAND to help her. I say throw her in the nearest looney bin and let some nice couples adopt those children. I really believe they would be better off!

I'll tell all the nurses that treated my son for cancer all last winter about your ideas about nurses and secretaries. Like there aren't enough women out there with self esteem problems. I don't have anything to give to the Octomom. I am divorced and retired from the Federal government and am trying to find a job myself to supplement my income. I had to work my whole life and raised my son with the help of my family. My parents didn't have anything and they're gone now. The only thing I was able to do is to give to a charity every year through the charity drive each year through my job. I picked a charity out of the book and gave through payroll deduction. I did that every year for 25 years.
Since the Octomom made some very bad choices in life, her parents and social services are going to have to step in to help her for the sake of those children.

You have to prove that the mother is 'UNFIT'. As long as she is trying to provide a decent home for her children that could never happen. You have to provide abuse of some kind, serious neglect, that sort of thing. There is no law that says that a woman can't have 200 children even without a husband. Don't worry. Based on her income, etc., she will qualify for free medical insurance for her children, lots of food stamps, rent relief and on and on. Even though I was divorced and my sons father was not paying child support, I still always made too much money as a secretary to qualify for any kind of aid. By the way, if she starts doing porn, someone could step in and start serious trouble for her. I knew a woman who out of desperation, starting working in massage parlors. (UGH). She said it paid unbelieveable money but you had to be able to play with strange ding dongs all day. Oh, and really wash your hands real good at the end of the day. Good career choice. You go girl!
