Showtime Goes Indie! Jeff Daniels' Music-Themed Show In The Works

Back in 1994 when he took a massive shit on-screen co-starred in Dumb & Dumber with Jim Carrey, who knew that Jeff Daniels would become a staple of independent cinema?

The Squid and the Whale star Jeff Daniels will be making the transition to the small screen with a Showtime television pilot about a factory worker who leaves his day job to pursue his passion for music.

HBO better watch out! Between Daniels' pilot, Adam Rifkin's new series LOOK which is filmed entirely through surveillance cameras, and the recently renewed cancer-themed comedy The Big C, Showtime is doing some provocative stuff.

Should be inneresting to see how it all plays out for the network.

Are U excited to see Showtime go indie?

Funny story- a few years back when I was in college he was at our film fest for Squid and the Whale and for a Q&A someone asked a question about Dumb and Dumber and he flipped out on the whole audience. It was quite a sight. Freaked out on a college kid because he didn't want to be associated with that movie.

I've always loved Jeff Daniels. Ooops. I meant Jack Daniels.

Regardless, he's an amazing actor, no William Hurt of course, but still pretty good.

I'm a big fan of his and always enjoy his work. He will forever be Harry Dunne (Dumb and Dumber) to me. For years I thought of him as that cheating piece of shit husband (Flap Horton) of Debra Winger's character in Terms of Endearment . lol
