Kitchen Nightmares Chef's Body Found In Hudson River

| Filed under: R.I.P.Sad SadReality TV

This is just awful.

The body of Joseph Cerniglia, who was featured on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares in 2007, was found today in the Hudson River outside of the New York City.

Authorities located the body after responding a 911 call reporting that a man had jumped from the George Washington Bridge.

Cerniglia leaves behind a wife and three sons.

Our thoughts are with them during this unbelievably difficult time.

to whatever idiot tried to slam others because we don't find the sadness in a 100 yr old woman dying by natural causes - this story is sad.

Say it Perez—he was from New Jersey!!! Very sad story, my sympathies to family - and also proves there are good people in NJ - not just like Jersey Shore and the other reality crap!!!

That's really really sad to hear…I remember watching that episode and he was great :(

It really is a sad thing when depression/mental illness blinds someone so much that that is the only path they can see. But Perez you really have to stop with the pathetically false sympathy it's disgusting and smarmy.

I'd kill myself if I had to do a show with Gordon too!

It's always sad to hear something like this, makes you think what really goes thru someones head when actually deciding to take their own life. On the other hand this is a very very selfish act on his part… My whole heart truly goes out to his family and friends as this isn't something that anyone should have to experience.

my prayers and best wishes are with them through this crisis.

He was a truly good person (our families know each other), and I feel for the family. It's so terrible to see that it had to come to this. :(

Wow I remember him from that episode, he seemed like he was a fun happy guy. It's sad to think what could have been going on underneath that surface.

I would commit suicide too; if I would be cooking like him…….

why are you trying to sensationalize someone's loss? and to imply that GR is somehow responsible is ridiculous. Kitchen Nightmares was not a show with "contestants". it was a show wherein GR tries to help struggling businesses overcome debt and improve their public perception. as ususal, you know nothing and open your gob anyway!

This is horribly sad. Joseph seemed like a great guy and happy go lucky. I remember his wife saying they had mortgaged the house and all for the restaurant. I remember that episode and was happy the place turned around for him.
