SAG Warns Actors To Not Work On The Hobbit!!!

This movie is so filled with drama and it hasn't even gone into production yet!!

Reports are saying that the unions for actors in film and television, SAG and AFTRA, have alerted their members to not accept work on Peter Jackson's upcoming film The Hobbit.

Members "are advised not to accept work on this non-union project" because:

"The Alliance agreement for large-budget international studio films…provides for residuals that are equivalent to those under the SAG agreement. The residuals proposed by the producers of The Hobbit are less in every respect."

According to unions, producers on the film have refused to sign union contracts.

Crazy!! Will this movie ever happen??

HAHA! So the casting will be made up of reality TV stars such as Heidi, Spencer, Snookie, 3 or 4 real housewives and real world alumni.

    Re: Good Karma

During times of a RECESSION the film business booms.
AFTRA and SAG protect the artists involved so the suits don't get all the money.

    Just how stupid are you?

i vaguely remember money disputes between peter jackson and a few of the actors in the LOTR films because back then, some of the stars are not as big as they are now so they demanded more money after the 3rd movie came out… i hope they make this movie! i loved LOTR and would love to finally see the hobbit on the big screen =)

Impossible. This will be a union pic. Anyone who thinks otherwise does not have a clue how movies like this get made.
