Eva, you’re awesome!

Eva Longoria’s celebrity twitter auction has raised over $540,000 for disable children in Haiti. The auction was for celebrities to follow bidders on twitter and arranged for “one-of-a-kind meetings” for winning bidders.

All proceeds went to www.ahomeinhaiti.org and will be used to rebuild The Miriam Center, which cares for children suffering from autism and cerebral palsy.

So inspiring!

Is Haiti ever going to receive/use the monies that hard working americans are rasing for them?

Good for Eva Longia. I'll bet Eva Longoria thinks it's pretty cool, too.

Hey Perez - saying that children "suffer" from autism or cerebral palsy is like saying you "suffer" from being gay. Autism and CP just are. Just like being gay just is. Yes, life might be a little more complicated and challenging but… "suffer" is a really lousy word to use. It promotes ongoing misunderstanding of the conditions. The only things my 21-year-old son, who happens to have CP, suffers from are stares and the ignorance of others.

Bravo to Eva for helping these kids out - I cannot imagine what post-quake Haiti has been like for folks living w/ disabilities.

I really hope you mean "disableD children in Haiti" otherwise….

Good. The more little rugrats she saves in Haiti now means more welfare receiving criminals to come to the U.S. when they grow up. Wonderful.

Havn't we raised enough money for Haiti?
Where were they helping us during hurricane Katrina? Oh right they weren't.
there are more domestic causes to raise money for if you are a celeb who wants attention for doing charitable work.

Re: RitaFarb – American government refused national aid on Katrina. They refused search and rescue teams, too.

in my personal opinion…everyone raises money to help people from other countries…..why the hell not help people in the us

Whilst I applaud charity work, I have to wonder why it's always the plebs that have to hand over their hard-earned cash (usually for something shit the 'celebs' are selling). Here's a novel idea: why don't the stinking rich celebs put their hands in their pockets??!!
If I were rich, I certainly wouldn't be asking poor bastards to hand over cash - I'd pay myself.
