Yet ANOTHER 13 Year Old Dies Because Of "Gay" Bullying In School!!

This is just beyond tragic!
News has just surfaced that a 3rd teenage boy in as many weeks has died after a suicide attempt because of bullying in school over his supposed sexuality.
Seth Walsh, 13, from Tehachapi, CA, attempted suicide on September 19th by hanging himself and was hospitalized in critical condition until this week.
Sadly, Seth died on Monday.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 1, at 3:30 p.m. at the Tehachapi First Baptist Church, 1049 South Curry St., Tehachapi.
PLEASE please PLEASE, if you have a little brother or cousin or neighbor or anyone whom you think might be gay or might be perceived as gay, talk to them! Encourage open and honest communication. Talk to them about suicide and how that is NOT the answer.
It is really hard to see at 13, but things WILL get better for them.

This is beyond sad… Children aren't born filled with HATE… We need to teach them ACCEPTANCE.. I've raised my child to talk to me about ANYTHING, and I've raised him to believe that there is nothing wrong with being gay.. It is just like being straight because it is the way you are BORN!!! Parents need to listen to their children, and where were the teachers.. Children show signs of this before they attempt suicide… I hope that the bullies can be charged with something!!!!

Absolutely heartbreaking. I had a friend that did this the day before his 21st birthday. I cannot imagine being the parents of this child. So so sad and unfortunate.

This is so sad… Children are not born with hate.. They are taught it through their parents, family, and certain religions… We need to teach our children acceptance… Not hate.. I have taught my son that he can come to me with ANYTHING… I have taught my son that being gay is just like being straight because it is the way you are BORN! People need to stop fearing homosexuality… There is no reason to fear it… They need to teach their children that they are who they are….

i just don't get it. I graduated 1 year ago, and at my high school ( i live in ms) we had a few gay kids and even transgender; yet they weren't picked on. They were just like any other student who had friends. Heck i remember one transgender kid was the teacher's pet. I may not agree with their lifestyle, but i wouldn't bully them.
I say again, something has to be done about the bullying in this country!

Another 15 year old boy, Tylor Hicks, took his own life on September 25th. Originally from Northern Delaware was living in Atlanta, GA when he took his own life due to being bullied for his sexuality at school.
I hope those kids who tormented him to death live with this for the rest of their pathetic lives.
My condolences go out to the family and friends of this young man who is gone way too soon.

Gay or straight, there are tons of weak and/or mentally unstable people who, daily, make a conscious decision to end their life rather than face the difficulties of it. Suicide is a selfish thing. What a horrible loss! When will the school systems take more notice and action on such issues. Its hard for young people to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know this because I was one of those kids that was bullied in school from grade school all the way through middle school due to being overweight. It was a daily thing for me to come home and cry in my bedroom and ask why me. Somehow I got through those years and lost weight my as high school was starting and looked damn good then it was on. Because of what I went through it made me more aware as a person of others struggles and I could relate to how they felt on some level. Bullies are breed so parents also need to be more aware of children and how they treat others and of course schools should be notifying the parents and get a resolution in place. The biggest problem is no one wants to get involved whether schools, teachers, students or parents. Stand up for what you believe in even if no one else does and stay strong. Sometimes we have to fight to make a statement of we wont stand for this. Love Everybody!

What needs to be done is they need to pass harassments laws that exist on the books in the workplace. The same harassment laws that exist to protect American employees should exist for all the schools in this country. They would put a stop to this. I don't know why this has not already been done!

I am sorry that I have made this area a controversial area but I am really really sad that in this supposedly forward thinking society/world I live in that there are still people persecuting people for the sexual orientation, beliefs and ideas. Didn't we leave the stone ages years ago? Obviously not! Did we not learn anything from Hitler's persection of the Jews??? Everyone has a right to follow their own path, wherever that leads them, surely that is the whole point of a democratic society. What is most sad of all is that these bullies might have been influenced by the adults around them who were aware of the consequences of their actions but unfortunately these children like so many before them didn't undesrtand or realise. Because he told me that there IS no cure. That for reasons we don't understand, someone is probably born gay. It is not a perverted choice. The problem is with the school. My daughter was assaulted last week as a result of bullying. She has endured this behavior by others for several months on her own. Even moved away to another chair across the room to avoid the verbal abuse days before her assault. In discussions with the school district representatives their definition of bullying isnt a single act but a continued form of harrassment. I disagreed and was refered to the Cy Fair Independant School districts definition for my clarrification. PLease note that this is the same school district where a 13 yr old buddist, gay teenager killed himself because of constant bullying by other students- Asher Brown. I am going throught the same fight on deaf ears by High School personnel. Langham Creek. Bullying doesnt have to be committed by a single person ,one time. Bullying is an incident by one or many that cause considerable distress to the person being targeted. The school and its personnel need to get with the program…..
