A 4th Teen Boy Dies This Week! What Is Going On America????

| Filed under: Exclusives!Gay Gay GayLGBT

We just don't understand this at all!!!!

It is with extreme sadness and disbelief that we have learned that a 4th teenage boy has died this week, the 6th suicide death in less 3 weeks.

This is a list we don't want to keep adding names to!

Billy Lucas, Asher Brown, Seth Walsh, Tyler Clementi, Raymond Chase and now Caleb Nolt from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

While details of his death remain unclear, we have confirmed with the Allen County Coroner's Office that the youngster has passed away.

We are hearing from classmates that he was a student at North Side high school in Fort Wayne. We are hearing that he committed suicide. And we are hearing that he was a victim of gay bullying.

Once again, we implore you to TALK TO SOMEONE if you are having very heavy thoughts. The Trevor Project is a great, anonymous, safe resource. Call them!

And if you have a loved on that is going through dark times, talk to them. Get them help!

This is beyond tragic!!!!

This site has gone from "Celebrity Juice" to Gay News.
These kids that are killing themselves is all real tragic but what does that have to do with Celebrity Juice? Lately I feel gay just coming to this site. Maybe their should be a gay site and a celebrity site but I'm done here.

  2. 2

and apparently if you are a lesbian, mario doesn't care.

  3. 3

Perez…..Please continue with the "It Gets Better" campaign, but stop advertising the deaths like this!!!!!!! All it does is give other vulnerable teenagers the confidence to do the same thing- "He did it, I can too!" This is not helping!!!!!

  4. 4

I do realize that you're trying to do a good thing here, Perez, by raising awarenss and encouraging people to get help, but I don't think all this exposure is necessarily a good thing. Obviously these kids were troubled and picked on, but you (and all other media outlets) might be starting some sort of twisted trend. People see, people do, you know? It must be spoken about, but this insane, in-your-face coverage might be doing more harm then good. Keep The Trevor Project advertised, it's a great thing, but stop associating it 100% with suicide. I am sure there are a lot of people out there who never thought about it until now, and once the thought it planted, it's hard to get out of your head.

  5. 5

Are you stupid? Read the Tipping Point … the reporting of these stories gives people silent permission to follow suit (kind of like how everyone at a cross walk will jaywalk if one person takes the first step into the street). Keeping a list of the names is actually more dangerous than helpful. I know you think you're doing best, but in the case of suicide, keeping a tally only makes those who are depressed and struggling believe that it is a viable solution.

@jkf….Well stop coming to this site. He's informing us of something that is getting out of hand.We as well as Celebrities care about what's going on,and the Celebrities are making videos on this issue,BECAUSE OF THIS SITE…….

  9. 9

Please start a gay teen suicide blog. We don't come here to read this shit.

  10. 10

This isn't "Gay News". This is "Human News", and it's a crisis in America.

  11. 11

My daughter went to school this boy last year. His school mates are devastated.

  12. 12

    Re: jkf – Goodbye then.

  13. 13

You want to know what's going on? I'll tell you what's going on. What's going on is that bitter unhappy fvckers like you:
    * Insist on outing people who aren't ready to be out
    * Insist on hating lesbians
    * Insist on calling young girl who are just beginning to understand their sexuality things like prostitots and using words like "slutty" to describe them.
    * Insist on taking facial features (ala Rumer Willis) that aren't your determination of "perfect" and tearing them down as low as you can because of it.
    * Insist on pointing out flaws like a few pounds past looking like a skeleton, cellulite, anything less than perfect
    * Only approves of young pretty boys and handsome men, and all the rest are deemed "worthless."
No wonder GLAAD fired your ass.
    … should I continue?

  14. 14

you know something? this isn't new. its happening all the time to young people, gay, bi and straight. you're not changing the world, mario. stop seperating gay teens from other teens because its detrimental to the cause. lots of teens will have committed suicide this week because of bullying, but because they're not gay they're not worth the press coverage.

  15. 15

This is macabre, also, did you have a look at the other videos that the uploader of this one has on their youtube? This looks more like it was uploaded by one of the persons who drove this teen to end his life. Showing this Perez, is all kinds of wrong. Have respect for his friends and family.

  16. exoxo says – reply to this

Perez, you need to take your own advice.

    Stop the bullying.

I guess you only care when it's the gay's that are being bullied, you clearly don't give a sh*t that celebrities are being bullied by YOU.

  17. 17

JKF, it's called awareness!!! IDIOT!!! Does it really mean that much to you that you are missing gossip???? Perez, keep it up!! Hopefully your words will reach out to people, and if one person can change, at least it's a start!!!

  18. chiro says – reply to this

This is all very tragic However, teens in general are commiting suicide at an alarming rate why not highlight those deaths? The problem I have with gays is that EVERYTHING is about being Gay! I guess that's why they call them Drama Queens!!!!

  19. 19

perhaps you should stop listing names. It may sound far fetched but w/ our society being so fame obsessed, it may be possible these poor kids are seeing the attention these kids are getting and using this as the final push to take their own lives.
They are obviously not thinking clearly and long term. Keep up the 'it gets better" but stop giving out the names, i personally think its lending some sort of incentive for these poor kids. some sort of warped version of infamy.

  20. 20

Re: jkf – oh no…we're going to miss you *sarcasm* BTW, learn to spell. "their" and "there" are two different words. see ya.

  21. 21

There is no epidemic. this isn't new. These kids have always killed themselves. It's only now that they're being reported on TV. Think shark attacks. They never rise statistically, but you see one newws report and 50 will follow.

  22. Lidz says – reply to this

Perez you cant tell teens to stop killing themselves if they are being bullied because of their sexual orientation while you are the biggest bully on the face of the planet. Ppl come to your site for celebrity gossip and all we get is you being a dick to EVERYONE!!(ohh sorry except Lady Gaga). STOP CYBER BULLYING BY STARTING WITH YOUR OWN WEBSITE!!If you cant maintain a successful website without constantly insulting someone then leave blogging to persons with a soul.

  23. 23

I am not sure it is appropriate to say America in CRISIS because I have a feeling these suicides are not a recent thing… teenagers suspected to be gay or who were openly gay have been bullied for decades which is sad but not a recent epidemic and I am not sure this is an appropriate place to talk about things like this perhaps it would be better to have a seperate page discussing serious matters rather than mixing them in with celebrity gossip.

  24. 24

I feel like he is showing this because it is becoming a huge problem in the nation. Being from the same town as him I am shocked that something like this would happen. This is the second suicide to happen here in Indiana and for myself it is hitting too close to home, these schools need to start helping these students out because if something isn't done soon. My thoughts are with his family in this time of need.

  25. 25

We need to do MORE. I think reporting on it this way is somehow glamorizing suicide to these young kids. How do we keep getting the word out? "IT GET'S BETTER!" It really does!

  26. 26

  27. 27

I think you should be careful about glorifying these teen deaths. This attracts copycats that want to have their names on your page.

  28. 28

Obviously perez you do not know how teens' minds work. Like some posters have said above, posting about these suicides and making such a huge deal out of them might do more harm than good!

  29. 29

I am really impressed that you are helping young people who are struggling to discover who they are in the world. I have been working on an art piece that focuses on what it means to be gay in 2010 and sadly this new trend has drifted to the dangers of homophobia and not the fact that it is ok to be who you are.

  30. 30

Perez, while I agree this is a disheartening issue, I'm worried you are enabling a bad trend. Unfortunately, many suicide victims have extremely low self-esteem. When you advertise suicides on your site, they might think that killing themselves will bring some sort of attention to their lives, albeit deceased ones. It's unfortunate that it happens, but it does. Also, many kids are bullied not just for their sexual orientation, but for other things like being disabled, weight issues or any other differences. What about those kids? I don't consider this a crisis in America unless you include every other group susceptible to bullying in your description. So the real crisis is bullying period, not just gay-bullying!! Instead of advertising these deaths, I agree with what another poster said……keep a link to the Trevor Project on your site. That way, if anyone feels the need to talk, they can.

  31. 31

"And we hear he was a victim of Gay Bullying"..Not let me get this straight. It's the heterosexual fault that all these gays had to kill themselves?Give me a break. What about the OVERWEIGHT,UNATTRACTIVE,GOTH,MIDGETS,excuse me short persons. Why aren't all these people killing themselves? And BI the way, wasen't it you who called Will.Iam a fu@king fa@@ot when u got slapped down.No he didn't kill himself but he almost killed you!!!!

  32. 32

What is going on is outrageous and horrible. However and I hate to say this but are they now taking their own lives because they know it'll be recongized & they're part of this "spotlight"? People of all sexual preferences are accepted now more than EVER! It makes me think that kids today have issues with self worth & not wanting to fight for themselves or the precious life they were given. There are men and woman who fight every single day for people they don't even know. They fight and struggle to survive for our freedom & life. It's sad that these kids are so easy to throw it away.

  33. 33

Celebrity Juice has become Gay Juice. I've been reading more articles about gay celebs, coming out celebs, gay issues like teen gay suicide. I think Perez should start a gay website and put all the gay articles there. Just sayin.

  34. 34

Re: Aunthoney – @ 10 - if it was "human news" he'd report on any kid that committed suicide, regardless of their sex or sexual orientation. as is stands, he has reported and seemingly only cares about gay young men.

  35. 35

I agree that this is a copycat situation. These kids hear of another kid who was in their situation and found a way out, so they take the same way out. I don't think it's a coincidence that Tyler Clementi jumped off the same bridge as the former contestant of Hell's Kitchen. It's horrible that these kids are being harassed. The bullying issue needs to be dealt with by schools AND parents. When Phoebe Prince killed herself, the parents of her tormentors knew that their kids had been harassing her and did nothing about it saying "kids just do that." I didn't and my kids won't. If I had picked on another kid and my parents found out, they would have turned me inside out. My kids also know that mistreating others will not be tolerated. This country is raising a generation of mean kids who are only going to become mean adults.

  36. 36

Re: netopia – all the other reg's agree with you……..

  37. 37

Sometimes life is so sad, and when people are joking with what who you are, and hurt you, you think that your life is just shit, and then you want to die. I just want to say that people, broken heart people have to stay strong and hope for a happy life.

  38. 38

Perez… I agree with you, but do you see any irony here? You say the cruelest things on your website about people… think Rumor Willis as an example. Don't you call her potatoe head or something derogatory like that? Ever consider the impact of your words? Do you ever consider the hurt you inflict. What if one day that person had enough, and god forbide did something like these boys - I mean bullying in cyberspace or face to face has the same negative impact doesn't it? You should really think about the effect of your words Perez. I know you won't - because this after all is the way you make a living.

  39. 39

Re: schoolyard bully – Thank you. Perez doesn't see the irony here.

  40. 40

  41. 41

There has to be a way of dealing with bullying. Those found to be bullying should be forced to take a sensitivity class and if they still bully then they should be expelled.
There should also be a bully bi-pass school in every city where kids can get an education (funded by the government) without being harrassed.

  42. 42

    Your hypocrisy is astounding.

  43. 43

  44. 44

    it gets better

  45. 45

    Re: chiro – EXACTLY!

  46. 46

There is nothing happening in America… Maybe US but the rest of the continent had no things like these.
Remember… America is the continent, not the country.

  47. 47

This is sad .. no one should feel any less than anyone because of who they choose to be with. Especially a teen who is barley learning who they are and who they want to be. They deserve just like everyone else to be allowed to grow up and decide what they want to be without having anyone come along and make them feel wrong for it.

Maybe it's copycat suicides with all the press. It's no answer. When I was low on occasion as a teen, my parents told me it was a coward's way out. That wasn't much comfort to me, but it stopped me from considering it, because I may have been miserable, but I sure as hell didn't want to be thought of as a coward.

  50. 50

Caleb Nolt was not gay. He was a great friend and he was in a very serious relationship with my sister, Lexy Morgan. I'm getting really upset with all these articles about gay suicide. HE WASN'T GAY! He wore skinny jeans because he was different. He was TEASED for being gay, but I can tell you for a fact that he was in love with my sister.
    Please get your facts right.

  51. 51

I KNOW CALEB!!! He was NOT gay, but he hung himself because people kept calling him gay and making fun of him. He was very good friends with my sister ever since they were in 4th grade. I can't believe he died, everybody's shocked.

  52. 52

I was one of Caleb Nolt's BEST FREINDS. He wasn't gay. He had a girlfriend and he loved her soo much. His lose is so hard and Everyone of my friends is soo angry that his suicide was because of gay bullying. Please get your facts straight. mhm. Thanks

  53. 53

okay. so, i'm from fort wayne.
caleb nolt went to my school last year.
i didn't know him well but i knew him, and for one,
HE WASN'T GAY. (people on the news said he was,)
he had a girlfriend, Lexy, and they'd been together for a looong time.
so, IF he commited suicide, (i do know what happened; but it's not nessicarly any one else's buisness.) had nothing to do with people making fun of him for being gay, because he wasn't. "gay bullying" had NOTHING, to do with it.
i know calebs sister, and his brother. so, don't call me crazy, and besides, no one here probably knows him.
so , just to be clear, AGAIN. no, he was not gay. so please, stop saying that. mmk? alriight.

  54. 54

Excuse me. Do you understand the definition of slander? And do you know it’s illegal? You say the issue isn’t whether this boy (who happens to be my relative thank you very much) was gay, but to our family it is an issue. We would like to have him remembered as he was, not used for political gain or for gay rights when he was in fact, straight. Check your facts, or you could end up with a lawsuit on your hands.

  55. 55

Tsst tsst, it's like, Perez Hilton is the definition of cyber-bullying or sumpthin' tsst tsst.

  56. 56

This is a comment for every one. It has not been proven that Caleb was gay. Yes it has been said that he had been bullied at school prior to the suicide. My daughter was friends with him and it has affected her. No matter if the child is gay, lesbian, or straight; this is a problem that needs to be addressed. Our communities need to realize that bullying over the internet, in schools, or at work needs to stop. My mother taught us " if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. it makes you wonder how the parents of the bullies act. Maybe if we all stopped looking for things to make fun of about other people we could see who they really are. stop the hate and stupidity! Our teens already have enough on their plates and they don't need to be ridiculed about how they look or what they have. wake up everyone and see that this is a time to see what our kids are doing and take notice of who they are. Calebs death has not only hurt his family but it has hurt the other children who new him and loved him for who he was. I wish someone could have told him how stupid those other kids were and that they were the ones who are worthless. Caleb will be missed.

  57. 57

oh and for every one saying that he was gay
    #1 he was 14
#2 the kids all said he had a girlfriend
