Beach Boys Musical On The Way!

It seems Fox 2000 and Universal are throwing out 7-figure bids to get the rights to an original musical featuring tunes from the Beach Boys.

The script, which will be written by Susannah Grant, does not center around the group, but is crafted around their hits. It's similar for what Mamma Mia! did for Abba.

John Stamos, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron are producing.

Do U wanna see a Beach Boys musical?!

John Stamos? He must be nostalgic from those Full House days. This is a great idea I loved the Beach Boys when I was a little kid…not sure why, but the music is something that I think everyone remembers and has heard and I think it will be great in terms of a musical.

This already happened on Broadway. It was called "Good Vibrations" and it was AWFUL. Their music doesn't play to large audiences. Why don't producers look to young, NEW composers who are doing incredible things in the musical theater world, u know, like…..when Broadway was thriving?? Back 50yrs ago!
