Jessica Supports Our Troops!

And that's a good thing!
Jessica Simpson visited the USS Harry S. Truman on Friday as the ship deployed in supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
The service men and women got the change to get her autograph, have a meal with her and a perform for her. Although Jessica sang as well, the Sailors and Marine competed for the chance to perform a duet with her at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting in November.
Only eight had been selected to sing I'll be Home for Christmas during Jess' visit based on the results of the Truman Idol talent search.
Love it!
The winner was Aviation Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class John Britt. His wife and child will even get to accompany him to New York to watch the performance.
"It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I'm honored to be part of it," said Britt. "I'm excited to be able to represent Truman, as well as the entire Navy. My family and shipmates are proud of me, and I couldn't ask for anything better."
Their duet will also be featured on Jessica's upcoming Christmas album.
Joe Simpson said:
"She knows the sacrifices the military men and women are making on behalf of their country, and she wants to do what she can in return. She's proud to be able to sing with someone fighting for our freedom."
Everyone really enjoyed her visit!
"I've never meet anybody famous before," said Operation Specialist Seaman Alison Wagner. "It's really great that she took the time to come out here to visit us while we were deployed. It definitely lifted my spirits and made me feel a lot better being on deployment."
Jessica added:
"I've been on many USO trips and I always enjoy sitting and talking with service members. To be on board Truman has been a blessing. I've met so many amazing people, and everybody has been so welcoming and made me feel like I'm at home. I can't express enough how much I appreciate the sacrifices you make for our country."
Amazing!

SHE'S PRETTY MUCH WACKY AND OUT THERE BUT THE GUY AND LESBIAN SOLDIERS PROBABLY ENJOYED HER. THE GUY LOOKING AT HER SURE LOOKS SMITTEN. I THINK SHE'S ODD, BUT I'LL GIVE HER A PASS THIS TIME.
bless her heart!
She has always supported the troops & has bracelets she designed that 100% proceeds go to the troops. I think its awesome ahe has put herself out there again. She 's a great gal with a very loving heart full of compassion.
I must say Perez I am shocked you actually didn't have some bullying comment attached to Jessica as your comments towards Jessica are more filled with hate & ridicule. Ill give you credit where credit is due. Thanks.
Now can you do this a little more often.
Bullying has to stop period in all form.
She never joined the service or has ever dated a serviceman; this is a photo op for her, nothing more!
My boyfriend is a SSG in the army infrantry who just finished serving his third tour on the front lines in Iraq. Real soldiers don't have time for singing with Jessica or any other stupid publicity crap. If she really wants to support the troops she should try dating a soldier it is much harder then just showing up one day and looking pretty for the camera.
Might be the 1st time she pushed the plate away – it is a start!
I think its pretty awesome & p.s. she doesn't have to date a military man to support them:)
*Semper fi*
Operation Enduring Occupation and Travesty.
A horror.
My dad was a Marine colonel but I don't support these troops; they aren't conscripts. They chose these immoral pursuits. Freedom my ass.
Oh Suzanne, that's such a negative comment. But so many of your comments are like that so no surprise. Are you having a bad day/year/life? I have mixed feelings about the war as well, but how dare you make negative comments about the men and women who do their duty and serve. You should be ashamed of yourself.
BTW, I hear Canada is a nice place to live. Maybe you should move there? I'm sure your father (the alleged marine) would whack you upside the head if he knew you made comments like that.
would you say the same for every other celebrity that goes abroad to support troops or is it just Jessica? Something teels me the harshnees here is all because it's Jessica but far be it from any other celeb that its not a photo op?
The people that don't appreciate are very bitter in life I suspect.
Maybe go because few these days even attempt to see the men on ship or in field & maybe see that many of the men are very appreciative of anyone that comes over to see them. If your hubby or BF is not then he can not participate don't you think. You saying he doesn't have time indicates you don't want him to have time & your speaking for someone several thousand miles away. Its not forced he has to see this but every man woman is entitrled to down time on the ship or otherwise.
Did you get laid last night Perez? You're being so sweet and gushy today. Shit, if I wanted cookies with my milk I woulda gone to imnotobsessed….
Damn, she looks good! I mean, still kinda spacy and lame, but she lost like 200 lbs and got her extensions in. Lookin' good Jess!
Poor troops….only people supportin' them weight in at the lower 70s. IQ-wise, cause definitely not weight-wise!
LOL
Jessica has always been infatuated with seamen.
Re: Jesus Jose – You should hook up w/Suzanne. You sound like the perfect bitter couple. Enjoying all that the U.S. offers, probably without contributing a thing, and bitching all the while about the system. If you don't like it, feel free to leave, or better yet, get off your butt and do something about it instead of spending time on Perez's site. Spoiled brats. BTW, I support our troops and my IQ is very high, my weight is low and I'm extremely fit. There goes your lame theory.
Re: CalabasasHomeOwner –
Ha–she can have mine anytime she is ready..
Re: notmars – You're a silly. Muwa! And you sound hot!
@Babycakes - Really, that's a pretty pathetic thing to say. I have seen first hand plenty of REAL Soldiers, Marines, Airman, and Seamen who have spent time with the USO celebs…singing included. Having been one of those people I can tell you its way more then a "photo op" for them, every single one I met has had their heart into it. And REAL military members appreciate any type of support they get. A piece of @$$ isn't the only way to show it.
my brothers on that ship! so cool!!
