The Bourne Legacy Gets A Director!
It looks like the fourth installment of the Bourne movies is moving right along - and with or without Matt Damon!
Michael Clayton director Tony Gilroy has been hired to write and director the latest in the franchise, The Bourne Legacy!
However, Damon has previously stated that he would only return as the forgetful assassin if the director of the second and third films, Paul Greengrass, was attached, and Universal apparently has no problem re-casting the actor!
Inneresting!

A Bourne movie without Matt?!? That is just crazy talk. There is no way I will go see it.
After 3 very successful movies I just think Matt is too associated with the role. Any actor taking on this role would have to deal with a lot of scrutiny.

Well it's not like Gilroy doesn't know what he's doing, considering he wrote all three Bourne screenplays. Directing one would be a natural progression. Gilroy knows the franchise inside and out. Damon should get on board, even without Greengrass. He could still do it.

The Bourne movies were really good, but I thought the story was over & done with? I sure as hell wouldn't want to see some crappy sequel without Matt Damon. He made the movies. Let's not turn this into the Fast & Furious franchise, please.

A lot of them say "Matt Damon is Jason Bourne" Why? Because he is. Don't go changing this…. it's no James Bond, it's better than that. So why ruin it? I understand he has done a few movies with Paul Greengrass and likes him as his director for the Bourne Saga (it probably can't be called a trilogy anymore), but he can definitely do it without him!
I sure hope Matt is messing with us, and will come back for this film! If not, I'm sure i won't be the only person disappointed. That's for sure!
