Deadliest Catch Trio May Return To The Series

deadliest catch captains may return after settling discovery lawsuit

Although it's been announced that Capts. Sig Hansen, along with Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand will not be appearing on the seventh season of Deadliest Catch, but it's not a done deal.

The Hillstrand quit amidst a $3 million lawsuit filed by Discovery for allegedly not completing work on a planned spinoff special.

But since the death of Phil Harris, the show may not survive any more drastic casting changes - and the network knows it! It's rumored that the two sides are discussing a settlement so the trio can return to the show.

And they better hurry! The boats are scheduled to leave for Dutch Harbor, Alaska, by October 15th to take advantage of king crab season in the Bering Sea.

Only time will tell.

Oh Please, mario, YOU have never watched it, have YOU? They have changed captains along the way. Yes, it is very sad about PHIL and they had a very touching memorial for him. BUT, the show is all about the adventure of FISHING. AND THERE ARE OVER 100 BOATS OUT THERE. I am sure they can find another captian or 2 or 25 with personality. besides, sig's ego was getting soooo big the cameraman was having trouble fitting in the cabin with him.

and NO, it was probably the Captains who decided to go back. like I said, over 100 king crab boats. This is guaranteed pay from the DC. They have NOTHING Guaranteed out there in the Bering Strait. Sig was probably just blowing his A hole and thinking the rest of the captains would follow and then, OH SH*T, I am the only one backing these morons. maybe they did breach a contract.

Good. Discovery needs to listen. Yes it was a break of contract but its stupid to sue two men 3 million, its more than a job, its their livelihood, over what, a special? And they are right, while the show may change captains all the time, Captain Phil was the reason i watched the show but the Hillstrad brothers and Captain Sig were also why. If all thats left is Phil's sons, it wasn't enough to keep me interested, i hope they work something out and soon.

We know these guys over several years. Casting, chemistry means everything. Putting in new captains is a gamble vs. a sure thing.

Re: tallchick – Completely agree with you!! Capt phil was the heart and soul of the soul. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us. But i also watched the show for the Hillstrand brothers, and capt sig. No one else. I cant stand keith, so that wont keep me watching, i dont mind the new ship the brought into the show in the last season (forget the name) but still not enought 2 keep my family watching. Discovery better do something fast, or the deadliest catch will be down the drain, fast.

If Sig and the Hillstrand brothers don't return then I'm not going to watch this year. With the death of Phil Harris it was going to be hard enough. But these 3 are the reason that I watch the show. I detest Keith and I'm not going to watch him by himself. They all need to get it together if they want to save this show.
