film version of broadway play jersey boys coming soon

In 2006, before Real Housewives and even before Jersey Shore, some people associated New Jersey with the Broadway play Jersey Boys, which won the Tony for Best Play that year.

While there's nothing wrong with being associated with alcoholism and spray tans, we're sure that the Garden State will be happy to gain all the wonderful associations that come with this play, such as phenomenal music and crime and adultery.

The play tells the story of how Frankie Valli and his crew became an American pop sensation before they even turned 30.

GK Films reportedly acquired the rights to the former Broadway play for a substantial seven figures!

Heres' what Graham King of GK Films had to say about the project:

"Jersey Boys is one of the most electrifying stage shows any of us has ever seen and it has all the ingredients to become a big commercial hit movie. So to now be collaborating with the whole team, Frankie, Bob, Marshall and Rick, to bring that magic to the big screen is just a wonderful dream come true."

We'll be excited to see how this film progresses. Should be inneresting to see who they cast as 'the boys.'

Are U looking forward to a Jersey Boys movie?

I hope they cast the cast from the traveling broadway show…they are AMAZING! Especially Joseph Leo Bwarie as Frankie!

Frankie Vallie and The Four Seasons always gave you your money's worth and gave a great concert.
First class arrangements. As 'tight' as a Sinatra concert.
Saw them at The Celebrity Theater in Phoenix ages ago.

Thanks for the wonderful memories, 'all you 'guidos'.

Frankie Valli IS one of the "four seasons", if you notice there are FOUR people in the picture, so the name "Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons" is WRONG because there are only THREE people BESIDES him. It WOULD be right if it were Frankie and FOUR OTHER people as the four seasons, since the name implies that Frankie is NOT one of the four seasons. As such, "Frankie and the Three Seasons" sounds awkward, because are FOUR seasons, NOT 3, so apparently whoever named the band either can't do basic addition/subtraction, can't count, doesn't know how many seasons there are, or a combination of those. Here's a simple solution: "The Four Seasons", since "Frankie and the Three Other Seasons" would be weird.

I saw this show on broadway, in NYC–it was awesome! Out of all the broadway shows I've seen, Jersey Boys is the best.

Hell yeah - only if it's as good as the stage show

John Lloyd Young (Original Broadway cast, Frankie (and Lea Michelle's ex)) would be awesome! So talented and a total hottie!

I saw this show twice in Toronto. It was absolutely fantastic! They could use any of the Toronto cast and be proud. Obviously the same for the Broadway as well.My favourite show ever. Can't wait for the movie.

Re: Midnight Empress – There were several versions of the band, actually. Originally, they were simply The Four Seasons. After 1967, Frankie Valli became a front man to a four piece Seasons making them Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. If you Wikipedia it, you'll get a more in depth story of all the little changes.

As mentioned by a previous comment, Jersey Boys Broadway is still running–and going strong–on Broadway, all over the country w/ the national tour, in Vegas, London, & Sydney!

In fact, the Tony winner will be celebrating its fifth anniversary next month!

The film version of the megahit musical will ROCK!
