Bye Bye Scientology Movie

Aww, we're so disappointed!

The Paul Thomas Anderson movie, The Master, that was loosely based on Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard, has been put on hold "indefinitely."

What a bummer! Putting a movie on hold is like basically giving it a death sentence!

The movie was set to star Philip Seymour Hoffman as "The Master," Jeremy Renner as his apprentice, and Reese Witherspoon as the Master's wife, Mary Sue.

Co-star Renner told sources that "it really kind of stalled because when we were rehearsing - Phil, Paul and myself - we kept coming up against a wall that we couldn't overcome. Or at least Paul couldn't overcome."

Meanwhile, Hoffman also spoke about the project, saying "I don’t have any new information. I really mean that, I’m not being obtuse. I don’t quite know what that is at the moment, but hopefully I will and hopefully I’ll be part of something soon. It would be great to work with him again."

Some say that it could just be logistics, however, others are speculating that the Church of Scientology was involved in stopping the development of the film.

With Reese Witherspoon being represented by CAA (Creative Artists Agency) - the same agency that represents Scientology member Tom Cruise and friend of CoS, Will Smith - we wonder if it was just a coincidence that the film has been stalled.

At the same time, Reese is also set to star in upcoming projects starring Tom and Will, which makes things even more curious.

What do U think?? Mere coincidence or conspiracy theory??

Maybe they couldn't afford to pay all of the aliens living in the heads of the Sciientologists.

  2. 2

How suspicious… and I really mean that.

    1. Scientology doesn't want a movie made about them b/c they want to charge people for info on their little cult.
    2. Scientology doesn't want a movie made about them unless they have 100% control over it so they can spin it so they don't look like the demented cult and con they really are.
    3. No one wants to see a movie about those crazies and their idiotic made up religion/scam.

  7. 7

But who would play all the little boys that L. Ron Hubbard ALLEGEDLY had sexual encounters with on his yacht???

  8. 8

quit defaming scientology just because they dont approve of your gay agenda

  9. 9

Scientology opposes psychiatry, charging it was responsible for World War I, Hitler’s rise, the decline of education in America, the wars in Bosnia and Kosovo and September 11.
How are they not crazy. Any "religion" where you need to pay to get to "higher levels" is a cult. that's what it is considered in most european countries!
Also denying medicine to those in need, they endanger lives of those involved!

Who would want to see a movie about a child molester? Oh wait, idiotic fans of Michael Jackson did, so I am sure there are idiots out there that would pay to see this filth.

GOOD too bad we can not get rid of all of Scientology!
Scientology is not a church but a CULT that ruins lives and robs innocent people!
They should have their church status removed and pay taxes!!!!
Their founder was quoted as saying if you want to get rich create your own religion.

because battlefield earth was such a win….

any 'mary sue'? lol research fail

I can imagine that a lot of former Scientologists are breathing a sigh of relief right now. It was bad enough being subjected to that feature-length Scientology infomercial known as Battlefield Earth, but a movie even LOOSELY based on the cult and its founder would have me reaching for a trashcan to barf in.

  16. 16

Which cult is worse scientology or the Mormons?

  17. 17

Hm. I wonder if the premise and idea of the film is to bring light on the truth about Scientology or to show it in a positive light? =/

Or maybe it has nothing to do with Scientology at all and simply was not ready to made at this time. Amazing how an article spreading lies carries with it hundreds of people following it like the article is the pied piper. The people following can't seem to think for themselves.

Reese has to be careful whom she annoys these days. She is getting along in years and needs to cram in all the work she can get before everything begins to sag.
