According to the divorce documents filed by Ben Harper on Friday, the singer claims to have been separated from actress Laura Dern since New Year's Day.

It's extremely odd, considering the two have been living and traveling together all year.

But a good reason to falsify that date is for the ca$h. Once a couple legally separates, each individual's income becomes their own - and Harper makes way more than his wifey!

He'll have to pay child support anyway. Let's keep this clean, folks.

Interesting, since I stood behind both of them TOGETHER in line at Starbucks in Brentwood as we watched the participants of the LA marathon run through the area. That was on March 21 of this year!

Laura Dern has had quite a long career and she would also have family money I would assume being that her parents are Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd.

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
