JoBros Cancel Mexican Concert! Violence To Blame!

So unfortunate!

Due to an overwhelming wave of drug-related violence in the Mexican city Monterrey, the Jonas Brothers have been forced to cancel their October 21st concert!

Promoter Live Nation made the announcement and attributed the cancellation to "a series of unfortunate events."

We're sure so many people must be disappointed right now, but they must have been extremely concerned for people's safety if they were forced to cancel!

What do U think?? Do U think the JoBros were justified in their decision?

Yeah, they were smart in doing this. I am from Monterrey and violence there has gotten horrible in the past few months.

  2. 2

Of course they are justified, and we all understand the situation. Im from Mexico and i can tell you, there is a shooting everyday in Monterrey. We don't want anyone shooting at our Jo-Bros!! Better be safe

    3

Hell yes they are justified!! So is ANYONE who cancels a trip to Mexico!!!! Who would want to go there ever again?? They are killing and/or kidnapping anyone and everyone down there!!

  4. 4

Yes! The violence here in Monterrey is out of control!

  5. 5

mexico is a horrible place to go right now and has been for quite some time- booking it to begin with was idiotic………

  6. 6

I don't like the Jonas Brothers but they did good, I don't like them but I don't wanna see someone hurt…and then if something happens to them then other artist are not gonna come! Dx

  7. 7

Definitely yes justified in their decision. The situation is horrible in Mexico right now, and really, really dangerous.

  8. 8

    Another day, another cancelled concert…

  9. 9

There is no way I would travel to Mexico right now. Totally justified.

  10. 10

I don't blame them..you can't even trust the Authorities over there…why take the risk?

  11. 11

the poor mexicans are the ones who will suffer

  12. 12

Smart decision all the way around. All tourists should rethink spending their vacation time and money in Mexico. Sadly I don't see ever returning to Mexico unless some drastic changes take place.

  13. 13

While the situation is horrible in Monterrey, it's is understandable for them to cancel, but then again Aventura was just in Monterrey for TWO sold out concerts and they didn't seem to have a problem. Are sure they were selling tickets or is it that some artist would do anything for their fans while others don't? It does make one think!

  14. 14

thank god they don't come to monterrey, we don't like that kind of sound, and for violence, we are 4,000,000 people living here in monterrey, according to surveys the rate of crime in houston and in san antonio tx, is higher than in monterrey, the black eye peas were here last week, and there was no problem at all. regards from my beautiful and always happy city MONTERREY.

  15. 15

Yeah, too smart not going to Mexico. Is not safe for anyone one to go there anymore.

  16. 16

blaahh blah blah!!! i live in monterrey and it's not as bad as the media is portraying it to be. the black eyed peas were just here a few weeks ago and guessssss whaaaaat!!! nobody died!!!

  17. 17

let me tell you. not EVERYONE is going to die in monterrey and of course if you go there you are not going to be kidnapped. some artists did their shows and didn't cancel, but its better not to put many people's life in risk. we dont know when the traffickers (or whatever you wanna call this bad people) are going to attack

  18. 18

Mexico is a crazy country with violence out of control right now. I don't want to travel there.

  19. 19

    Hell yes it was justified.

Mexico is so fucked up and it hilarious that there are organization like La Rosa that want to take over California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and claim it for Mexico. Clean up your fucking country first and leave our states, no sense in dragging everyone down with you.

  21. 21

Re: Mallory Kate Huntley – cierto! que tristeza como ven ahora a nuestro pais. saludos

  22. 22

is true we have difficult moments, were city like first word , hav a lot thinks… and bad people wnts hav control and is no safety yes like other city in the word, thise persons magnifique something thay eveny knw , and the sad of the events like thise is people is racist and just cancele no for the people ,becouse they think cut be an dnager but thise is complete not treu … hate people like thise make something biggest well why can spaek of disney kids right?

  23. 23

They are absolutely justified in making that decision. We cancelled our vacation to Mexico because of what's been happening there, and we aren't the targets that the Jonas Bros. would be. I say good for them and their manager for making the right decision.

  24. 24

i dont blame them, Monterrey has had quite a lot of violence lately, but i still love that city! everything has calmed down a bit so hopefully it will all get better

  25. 25

Until the Mexican govt can control and get rid of the drug lords that are mostly responsble for all these killings, Americans should not travel to Mexico…period.

  26. 26

This is SAD and true… I´m form Monterrey, and u have no idea how it feels have to accept that the city u love once, fucking Sucks Today.
Don´t like Jonas anyway. But this is a depressing situation

  27. 27

I was in Mexico recently, and I can't blame them for cancelling. It isn't safe.

  28. 28

they're more than justified, you have no idea what's going on in this city, along with the whole country

  29. 29

Well yeah, I wouldn't want to have to hear a news story about the Jonas Brothers being killed just because they were too stubborn to cancel a concert!

A kid I know who went to Mexico for Spring Break got drugged at a club. Luckily his friends were able to get him out of the club and back to the hotel before God only knows what happened.

  30. 30

come on, I live in Monterrey and yes, there are shootings but seriously is not as half as bad as Tijuana and other border cities. A lot of artists have come here and nothing has happened, heck, even important people like KISS and Black Eyed Peas have held their concerts here. JoBros are nothing compared to those artists, I highly doubt they will get killed here, their music sucks anyways.

  31. 31

Mexico needs to be wiped off the face of the Earth. Nothing good comes from there, except tequila.

  32. 32

it isn't fair i have my tickets since july, and cancel the concert 10 days after the show isn't professional, and yeah it's been out of control here in monterrey, but common black eyed peas and kiss made it and they're international too, i really wanted to see them my only hope is to win the office max trivia!!!!

  33. 33

yes, there is a lot of insecurity in Monterrey but you have to respect us,Re: wino4ever – what would you say if I said that your country is horrible and that it has to be wiped of?
and not every single city in mexico is like that, I live in la paz and it is a very nice place

  34. 34

Re: fernandaguillen – Hello, doesn't the rest of the jealous world want that for the US?? I've traveled all over the world, and heard much worse than what I said directed toward my country. That's great that La Paz is a nice place, but that is not true of most of the country which is overrun with criminals, drug cartels, and idiots.

  35. 35

  36. 36

@buck That clearly shows how fucking ignorant you are, read a book first or at least watch the news, people like you make me sick…ugh

  37. 37

    smart.totally justified
i was in MX this summer.. its really bad :/

  38. 38

Well I am from Monterrey and my cousins were extremely dissapointed cause they had tickets, but I don't fear just the safety of the Jonas Brothers, I'm sure they have enough security. I fear more the safety of the girls that would be at the concert and the number of people who would without a doubt be kidnapped shortly after cause lets face it, its a great place to kidnap people, while they're going back to their cars. The JoBros did good, I'm heartbroken that my country has come to this, but I have to admit that I'm glad my cousins are not going there so I don't have to worry about them all night

  39. 39

im from here from Monterrey and i hate to read comments from american people saying that Mexico is awfull, that we are dangerous etc! WE ARE AS SAFE OR AS DANGEROUS AS ALL OF YOU ARE. just that our government doesn't hide it out casue they really want to get over it ;) so please shut up and get to your own business. And yes, we were all really dissapointed about this, i had 6th row tickets and i've waited for this concert for 126 days, but i guess it wasn't my time to see them.

  40. 40

They made the best decision right now. I'm a proud Mexican and I hate watching people avoiding Monterrey even though it is a great and beautiful city. Insecurity there has made the Mexican population consider Monterrey the most dangerous city now, even Mexico City is maybe one of the safest in the country. I think all people must avoid doing any trip to Monterrey now until the situation is totally controlled. I'm also sad reading all comments and discovering how people really sees my country. I can't imagine what the world news channels, specially US ones, are saying about Mexico. Yes, there is insecurity, but only as much as in any other country. It is just that we have the balls to admit it, take the responsibility and making something to change it. There are still too much things to know and visit in Mexico. You just have to search and really have the desire of coming. I can assure you that there is a very small chance you'll get even assaulted. Neverthless, you just have to avoid visiting Monterrey right know.

  41. 41

Re: buck – asshole! not the hole country is fucked up!

  42. 42

Re: wino4ever – At least here in mexico we do not mistreat people to the point of committing suicide!

  43. 43

Wow!!! I had no idea there was so much hatred towards Mexico. We are going through tough times, especially in the northern parts of Mexico. However our country is very big, and there are plenty of places that are safe to visit. It is very easy to judge a country and point out fingers. I admit Mexico has a lot of straightening out to do. However I do want to remind people that the USA is the number one drug consumer in the world and easily sells guns to drug cartels so you are in fact one of the main financers of this war. Maybe you could think about that instead about saying how terrible Mexico is.

  44. 44

Re: wino4ever – fucking moron, Mexico may be the dealer, but guess what? THE US IS THE CONSUMER.

  45. 45

Re: bsgg75 – You're the moron, Mexico is not the dealer, they're the weak middle-man!! The current situation there proves that their activities do not result in any acquisition of power, but instead have the citizens leaving in DROVES to come here for a better life. I personally have no problem with immigrants coming here, I think everyone deserves a chance at a good life.

  46. 46

Re: marieelK – Why do so many people from your country want to come live here then?

  47. 47

come one everyone its truth that our city is going through some security issues BUT the real reason they've got to cancel their concert is that they DID NOT sell enough tickets to their concert and the "given reason" is just an excuse to cancel it, THE BLACK EYED PEAS performed like 3 weeks ago and GUESS WHAT Everyone no one GOT KILLED!! so why someone would mess with the JoBros well at least as it comes to their music i guess some one would like to but not just in MONTERREY but across the world!

so it pissed me off because acts like this sends a strong message to another singers to avoid performing here and thats bad for the city because lots and lots of people and their families depends of shows like this

the fault is for their reps to set the concert into a stadium instead of an arena which father would allow their LITLLE GIRL to go to the not so secure stadium

  48. @v@ says – reply to this

    48

They did the right thing to cancel, considering. Better safe than sorry.

  49. 49

i hardly think that the cartels would be waisting their time with the jonas brothers, buy hey… it's better to prevent than to regret. o_O

  50. 50

Im not going to say there is no violence in here, because violence is all over the world but i watch american news, your crimes are things that are so easy to stop but nobody does anything, bullying causing suicides, homosexuals being killed because of theirs preferences, hunting of immigrants to kill them not send them back, hate crimes to people who are not white or violence because of different religions, if you judge a country only in the news you see, this is your judgement, country of freedom? your country is the most hateful place i have ever seen, but since i know that thats not the case in the whole US than get informed like me because violence is not present in all of Mexico, i live in a city from the north, and there is no shooting, i havent heard of a kidnapping in ages and you can be whatever you want and nobody says anything
