    The girl who deliberately excluded me and got most of my classmates to do the same 50 years ago turned out, I learned only recently, to be the damaged child of Holocaust survivors. There's always a backstory.

    i never got bullied at school except once on the bus but it was mild ..
    as for minnie well her loudness is why she got dumped so many times shes gorgeous but i used to be loud like her i had to tone the horsey laugh down too as men tend not to go for it .. u live and learn …men dont always want the loud beautiful funny girl i think its amazing her bully was so insightful

    I've been through some rough stuff in my life and I've got some issues, but that's never made me malicious. I think it's a personality thing…you have to be a jerk.

    i am definetly not one for violence but i am all for a nice smack or punch that will put a bullie right in their place.most bullies are bullying because they themselves are masking whatever their insecurity is & projecting it unto whoever threatens them or someone they feel is weaker.you got to prove them wrong with a nice smack in the face…& you'll see they won't f%$ with u after u stand up for urself.im not saying a prision beat down but when ur being tourmented im sorry,talk'n it out isn't gonna work.STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!!

    Finally, someone is talking about the bully and the damage children they are! I am NOT suggesting they not be held accountable for their actions but they need therapy and support as much as their victims. Yes, they do. They are CHILDREN and usually children that abuse are abused themselves!

    Not once before this article have I heard one pundit say a word about the psychological profiles of the young perpetrators. A comprehensive look and treatment plan for all the young people caught up bullying needs to be designed and implemented by each and every school system.

    No one has EVER bullied me in real life. I've always stood up for the ones who were bullied. I hate to see people get picked on. For some reason I got along with everyone. But, there is a another story I will tell it another time.

    Minnie's bullier is the example of what we tend to forget when we speak out against bullying. We focus on the one getting bullied (which ofcourse we SHOULD do) but we forget that for someone to be so mean and hurtful towards another human being, you have to be feeling so messed up within that bullying is your only way of handling your own misery.

    We need to teach EVERY child to feel good about themselves, to have selfasteem, harmony and to be able to express whatever troubles them in a different way. A happy does not bully.

    The "bully confession" part of that story sounds like bullshit. However, I had a similar incident without the dramatic confession part. When I was in school there was a girl who continually ragged on me on the way home. My friends told me to ignore it. One day I guess I had enough. I have no idea where it came from but I turned around, got in her face and told her to stop. Then I clocked the bitch. I was as surprised as she was, but I kept cool and told her that there was plenty more where that came from and she better stop. She did. I still call total bullshit on Minnie's "bully confession" … total bullshit. She's probably just jumping on the bandwagon like everyone else is.

    Our girl Minnie then runs into this woman at a party … I guess she didn't see her in years and just happens to run into her at a party accompanied by her entire family, and the blood drains out of her face and she spills her guts when our hero Minnie confronts her, and she tells Minnie how wonderful she was. Seriously?

    Thanks for sharing your story, Minnie. Some people disliked me in high school for being different, so I learned to shy away and not get involved in any school activity so nobody would bully me. Now in college I got my own group of friends and people know me as one of the smart girl in my major. My life has turned out a lot better, but as a result of my depressed years in high school, I developed a bad habit of constantly forcing myself a little bit too hard just to make everyone happy. Bullying is never good and it may harm the victim's mental even years after. It's good to hear that she had the courage to confront her bullier–I wish I had that courage too.

    Your advising others on how to deal with bullying??? Confronting them? Are you kidding me? What about calling the cops on them. Charging them. Reporting them???? That's what principals offices and the police are there for. I don't care if its a five year old who's bullying. IF no one is willing to deal with him, than call the police. THAT is the ONLY way to deal with a bully. Just like you Perez, who victimizes, everyone on here. YOU should be CHARGED. NOt given a fan base of people who all give you chance after chance after chance to clean up your act. All you are doing is manipulating. Your advice SUCKS!!!!!!

    Does it get better? When I was a little girl, my sis always told me how ugly I was and why. Now I'm a grandma and realize how she damaged me; some can slough it off and some can't. I also think if you are the recipient of the bullying, and believe what the bully says, it can affect the choices you make later in life.

    Imagine that. Bleeding hearts for bullies. They deserve nothing but scorn for the damage they inflict emotionally, enough to scar someone for life. How sweet for Minnie to actually be able to confront her bully years later. With dignity, she verbally made that bully feel like crap and that's a good thing.

    I remember in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade i use to pick on this one kid relentlessly. I'd embarass him in front of the class, call him names, push him around and even beat him up about once a month. It was so much fun. Even to this day if I ever see him around the neighborhood I laugh at him and call him names.

    Perez, the reason bullying will continue is because gays you don't believe in hitting back. What we need is a gay youth who is about to make the wrong choice, to channel their self hatred to those absuing them.     I don't give a fuck what justifies bullying. I was bullied in the 7th grade by a girl who's mother had died a couple years earlier and I guess she was all fucked up in the head. It wasn't until I grew a backbone and shoved the bitch into a set of lockers and threatened to kill her did she stop. Sorry your mom died–but what the fuck?
