    When you have that much money as Oprah, you will always be a target of people who wants easy money. It would have cost her more to fight this lawsuit so I don't blame her for settling it… not to mention all the allegations that may ruin her name. In my opinion, she should have fired both the pilot and the flight attendant if they were both under her employ.

    i cant imagine any of it being true but $75000 is small change to Oprah so i can see why she settled rather than drag it out in court. especially as it doesnt just involve her, shes protecting her friend as well.

    Oprah has done amazing things…most importantly she has raised millions to help people. Unfortunately her money will always make her a target for stupid lawsuits. Who cares if Gail had sex with a pilot? I'm sure Oprah wasn't handing out Opiates - maybe she gave someone headache medication she had in her purse. Who knows? And racist rants? Whatever…she does have to be perfect…we all say things behind close doors that we may not say in public. It's unfortunate that US law allows for sure dumb lawsuits!!

    She was being sued for $75,000? That tells me that she didn't have anything salacious on Oprah. If she did, she would have asked for more money in exchange for silence.

    Racist remarks = her calling someone a hillbilly.
    Passing out on prescription drugs = taking too many Ambiens.
    Gayle having sex w/ the pilot= Who cares? Is Gayle married? A minor? She is a single adult woman who can have sex w/ whoever she wants.

    I read the Enquirer article and Oprah's supposedly racist rant was allegdly claiming "white people don't know how to cook Southern food." If that's racist then I'm racist too because I agree with her. As for the whites here complaining that Oprah shouldn't be racist because whites made her rich, keep in mind that whites are also the ones spreading false rumours about her being being a closet gay even though Oprah & gayle have both had sex with many many men and both women gave birth to babies (Oprah's died). I appreciate the fact that whites supported Oprah's rise to the top, but y'all get NASTY when black get too much money & power so blacks have the right to be racist against y'all.

    You know, it's just so hard to tell now-a-days. Everyone is taking their shot at getting rich while nabbing their 15 minutes and blasting others at the same time. Though based on the price she sued for, I don't think it was as 'juicy' as she probably hoped it would be. I guess we'll probably never know though! Like someone else said; it's more beneficial to pay the settlement than to fight it. (Luckily for Oprah, it wasn't more than a scratch on her wallet.)

    I can vouch for this; Oprah is a bitch. My father built a tennis court for her, at her home in New Mexico, and I only heard terrible things about her. It doesn't surprise me. Classy people are disgusting in private.
