I love Melanie C. Her solo music is so inspiring. a TRUE role model to women. I miss the spice girls, spicemania lol. The biggest thing since Bread.
I think it would be more appropriate to have them play during the closing ceremonies the way Canada had Michael Buble play in the closing ceremonies in Vancouver with all the moose and beavers and giant hockey players floating around. True that Joanie Mitchell sang during the Vancouver opening ceremonies, but she's considered a Canadian musical and cultural icon. Spice Girls aren't quite at that level, at least not now. The opening ceremonies of any Olympics is a more sombre, artistic event that is meant to showcase the host country's history and culture. The closing ceremonies are traditionally more fun/silly/kooky like a party.

For the Olympic venue The Spice Girls could be in the mix of an "Olympiad Concert"- I mean you usually showcase the host country- it would be a tough one to put together, the legends/immortals, the "hot" and the creme of the newbies…it would be something spectacular!
The Spice Girls should be left back in the 90's where they belong along with atrocities such as Achey Breaky Heart and The Margarita.
HELL YEAH!!! I was not a spice fan back in the day but, after watching Mel Bs show "Its a Scarry World" on cable Ive really fallen for her, well her british accent and hot bod.
