Katie Waissel's Mom Complains That X Factor Contestant Mary Byrne Is Getting Unfair Promotion!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooMusic MinuteX FactorReality TV

We think this woman needs to calm down!

X Factor contestant Katie Waissel's mother, Diana, is reportedly furious that finalist, Mary Byrne, is getting plugged unfairly because of her employment at Tesco supermarket, which has promotional deals already in place with the reality competition!

According to reports, the supermarket chain sent e-mails out to its 300,000 employees to vote for Byrne, which Waissel thinks is unfair!

She explains:

‘It’s not fair – 300,000 is a lot of supporters. If it goes by that, it means Mary’s going to win.’

Oh, boo-hoo! It's not like the employees are being FORCED to vote!

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Tesco counters:

‘She has reached The X Factor finals on her talent alone. Any suggestions that the references have anything to do with a supply deal for the X Magazine are absolutely untrue.’

Exactly! We think it's lovely that Tesco is being so supportive of Mary!

And we sincerely hope that some people choose to focus on the COMPETITION and their performances, instead of getting wrapped up focusing on potential disadvantages and whining to the press about it!

What do U think?? Does Mary have an unfair advantage??

well considering that the Irish are allowed to vote this year gives Mary an extra 4million or so votes that the rest don't have plus the fact that Tesco have ads running during the programme wishing her luck and big banners in all their stores doing the same I'd say yeah… but fuck it Mary deserves to win. Katie is just pissed that no one likes her coz she's fame hungry!

Katie's Mom and Katie herself should just be thankful that she's even on X Factor when clearly she shouldn't have been selected in the first place. I still say despite Mary's tremendous talent, she's disadvantaged b/c most voters are in the younger demographic and she'll need all the help she can get.

Even if Tesco is supporting her, she would not win if she wasn't talented. We need artists like her, to bring something new and exciting to the music industry. She is great and deserves being in the final with or without Tesco's supporters.

the population of the uk alone outweighs that of ireland millions over - yes the english contestants may split the vote - but even so the population figures still would mean that if mary wins its because of her talent! she is the one thats been consistent the past two weeks - the others have all been shaky! that said the whole show is a fix - they praise people who dont deserve praise etc etc and mentors happen to give contestants the 'wrong' song!

For the love of GOD..stop with the posts about this stupid show. Perez - you are the only one obsessed with it and I am so very weary of scrolling past these ridiculous posts. I barely care about American's Got Talent and I sure as shit care 100 times less about X-Fucking-Factor.

If its true that Tesco is doing this then I do think its unfair. Isn't this a competition for amatures not contestants with corporate backing? Mary may or may not be better but this still seems like an unfair advantage. Kinda reminds me of how the rich kids get into Yale and a very clever one won't if she hasn't any money unless she has a big name or a big name backing her.
Good luck Katie! You sound great!

why she is Complaing, I think it is not just Katie Vogel had her own reality show in USA before appearing on The X Factor. I have read in other news

  8. 8

Yes I do think she has an unfair advantage and I think that you are being a douchebag.

  9. 9

Yeah, it is true. She was also in the Tesco staff newspaper. Don't see what the big deal is… It's not like I'm going to vote for her because Tesco wants me to.

sleeping with people in order to get publicity is not exactly fair either, but that's what you slag of a daughter is doing, mrs. waissel. think before you speak.

The talent speaks for itself, Katie can sing not too well but she can sing, in Mary's case to me she's already a star, and Katie can't even stand next to such talent, sorry katie but there is no way you'll win

Didn't katie already have a record contract that the X factor bought her out of to put her on the show? Or something along those lines

Katie's mom needs to wise the f**k up, i was reading ok magazine about a week ago and in there was a good luck katie post (apparently she did work in there advertising a year ago), poor Katie her mom is making it worse for her. amycakes86 that was hilarious.

Corporate backing takes the fun and point of being an amateur out of it totally.

  15. 15

of course its perfectly fair that Simon Cowell bought out Katie's current record contract so she can appear on the X Factor … Katie is so unpopular in the UK and Ireland as its obvious she's out for herself and doesn't care who she insults (or pretends to sleep with) to get where she wants ..

Re: mimi_23 – Irish people are not going to vote for Mary because she is Irish, if they vote for her its because she's talented, One Direction's Liam is from Sligo and Belle Amie's red head is from Dublin … does that mean they will only vote for those 3 acts? Also there's 7 million people living in London alone not to mind the whole of the UK so thing that dwarfs the Irish vote somewhat … I'm Irish and I want Matt to win … we Irish have our own minds ya know!
