Military Recruiters Must Accept Gay Applicants!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitik

Success!

Following the limited suspension of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, recruiters have been informed that they MUST accept gay applicants starting this week!

A Pentagon spokeswoman confirmed this morning that top-level personnel have been alerted of the change and have been asked to act accordingly. However, they have also been given the go ahead to inform recruits that the moratorium could be reversed at any time, which hopefully won't happen.

If brave men and women want to serve, our military should be happy to have them, regardless of their personal lives.

We're making progress!

Of all the western countries, all of their allies, only the United States stops gays from serving in their military. But other countries that don't allow gays to serve are Iran, Iraq, North Korea, China, etc.

    Good company USA. Taliban much?

Great, now the movie Stripes is ruined. I'm glad I served back in the late 80s. Now, no way I would want to have a roommate in the dorm that is gay and bunks in the same room. :shakinghead:

I thought they already did? I was at MEPS just this January and there was this lesbian girl that was enlisting. They didn't turn her down or said anything about her sexual preference.

Um how does anyone know you're gay if you don't tell them?
Is there a box on the application :
    Gay
    Not gay
Gays haven't been prevented from joining just requested to keep their sexual escapades to themselves now I suppose if you can't keep your mouth shut it would be a problem being gay might be a problem.

    Re: melb

escapades? that's a leap. what they're talking about is what happens when you're asked. from what i understand, you're required to tell or at the very least compelled to testify against yourself. Can anyone shed some light here?

In no way am I against Equal rights for all….I am all for it actually but I dont agree with this. I know many people in the military and although I believe they should be able to join the military I dont think they should publisize it until after Tech School…..in basic training they all have to shower in the same room its very small quarters those that are straight wouldnt be comfortable showering with people not knowing if they are checking them out or whatever….then in tech school they have to share a room with 3 other people. Before anyone gets mad at me I really dont have a problem with gay people I have tons of friends that are and I love them to death I dont judge I just dont think that everyone thinks it through why some rules are in place. That being said I dont think ANYONE should be kicked out of the military based on sexual orientation thats wrong but I do think that it should be kept to themselves and thier recuters until after tech school. Im sorry if my opinion offends anyone. I just think that would be easier for everyone and keep everyone happy.

Why don't you get your gay ass down to the recruiting office then? People like you bitch and bitch, but you do nothing to serve this country. You suck all the benefits of being an American, but pay none of the blood. You bully, mock, and insult people on a daily basis, and then you cry like a little bitch when some body guard hits you once in the face for being you. You should try being an amputee down at walter reed and then cry like a little girl over something stupid. None you gays will be beating down the military doors. You just wanted a rule change so you can feel better about yourself and have one less entity telling you that you are wrong to choose homosexuality. Science has proven that there is no gay gene, so you were not born like that.

the problem is when it gets overturned all those people risk getting booted. You're so fucking stupid, you just can't see reality!

Re: wooooozee – No. It's called Don't Ask/Don't Tell. They weren't supposed to ask you. And if they broke that rule and asked, they could not make you answer and out yourself.
