GQ Editor-In-Chief Responds To Glee Photo Controversy!

We cannot believe that this has become as big a deal as it is!

Now that the Parents Television Council has essentially lost their shiz over the recent Glee photoshoot for GQ for what they claim is bordering "on pedophilia," and "sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on 'Glee' in this way," the magazine's editor-in-chief Jim Nelson has responded, and he's - rightfully - pretty baffled!

He explains:

"The Parents Television Council must not be watching much TV these days and should learn to divide reality from fantasy. As often happens in Hollywood, these 'kids' are in their twenties. Cory Monteith is almost 30! I think they're old enough to do what they want."

Exactly! We don't get it.

They could have been photographed completely naked and it still would be okay, because they're ADULTS. And how is it a new concept for actors who play high school students on TV to be sexualized?

And finally, has the PTC actually WATCHED Glee? It gets away with some pretty racy shiz!

Just because the characters sing popular songs and dance around doesn't make it a kid's show, people! Time for a reality check!

What do U think?? Is the GQ controversy justified??

PS. They weren't just posing for pictures; they were actually advertising the clothes they were wearing. Every picture was labeled with the name brand of the article of clothing they were wearing. So if you want the panties Lea was wearing from Calvin Klein, or the pumps she wore from Louboutin, there you have it. LOL

    Re: BlissBlair
You seem to have some issues, girl. Since when does having a perfect life have anything to do with looking up to your parents? No one has a perfect life anyway. Yes, kids do have role models outside their family unit, but it isn't celebrities' job to be role models, even though they're often given the unwilling task of being such. It's the parents' job to provide their kids with positive role models, whether it be the parents themselves, an older sibling or other family member, an educator, or any other upstanding citizen in the community. Maybe you didn't have an idyllic life growing up, but that's nobody's fault in here, and you shouldn't use that or your strange hatred toward men as an excuse to blast people with whom you disagree.

but they are playing teen age roles. That is a big problem.

We have a major problem with sex traffic of young men and girls in this country….This is a move toward support of Pedophilia which is just around the corner once the gay marriage is in full swing. These people feel they have the right to our young children (they can argue that they were born this way)…This is promoting that. The kids see these models as role models and are being brainwashed to think that is OK….NOT…..

they can play adults, but their outfits for under age girls and they play school girls in the show, so well.

For once Perez, I have to dissagree with you… They are adults, but they are still accountable to all of their fans. Even though glee has sexual content, it's no more so then you would find in the highschool in my town. You would never see this in a highschool. It's really important for these actors, while they play these roles, to be rolemodles. They should be able to do whatever they want, but not while portraying the characters. In these pictures they seem to be portraying the Glee characters, and I just don't see Rachel Berry doing a shot like this while in high school? Do U?

Sucking a lollipop and wearing underwear with her ass poking out made me laugh, aw, trying so hard to be sexy.

This whole thing is so stupid! The people that are pissed are probably the same people who threw a fit about Britney Spears, Christian Aguilera & now Miley Cyrus were & are changing their image from being a sweet little innocent angel to a grown woman!! GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!!!!!! There are so may other things that our country should worry about than a magazine cover and photo shoot! These WOMEN have gorgeous bodies and if they want to show them off, then I say go for it!!!!!!!!!!
