Quaids Caught In Canada!
Damn! They made it far!
After bailing on their last court appearance, the police have finally found Randy Quaid and his wife Evi - in Vancouver!
The pair were arrested sometime in the last 48 hours for violations to the Immigration Act. We're not sure if that is code for jumping the border, but we have a strong feeling that it is!
The Canadian Border Services Agency is not prepared to talk about the case at this time and there is no news whether the pair will be brought back to the U.S anytime to face their other charges, like that little felony burglary charge.
But, you know, if you mounties want to keep them, that'd be fine by us!

The crazy bastards are claiming refugee status. Evi says they are are scared to go back to the States because they are scared they will be killed like their good friends Heath Ledger, David Carridine and someone else. (a big truck went by on the drive home and drown out the radio so I could'nt hear who). Last I heard they were still in jail, but there lawyer is trying to get them released so they can go to a hotel and be monitored with ankle bracelets. Being a polite Canadian, I won't tell them to fuck off home, but instead ask them to please leave my city!
They are on their way back to you to pay their debt to U.S. society. We have no reason to believe they will die in California and you guys want your penance from them so we will comply.
They'll deport them and disregard their weak attempt to avoid justice. Canada doesn't allow felons, and especially Americans with charges pending.
BRING THEM BACK HERE AND SET THEM LOOSE. IT'S FUN TO CHECK IN ON THEIR ADVENTURES ONCE IN A WHILE. I SAY MAKE A REALITY SHOW ABOUT THEM. WHAT FUN!

Having previously met Randy, as as a Southern California US citizen currently in Canada, I would not hesitate to tell the couple that the Vancouver Film Festival is over. They should take their ankle bracelets and to hang out with W clearing brush.
