This is UNREAL!! Quaids Seeking Refuge From "Hollywood Star Whackers"!

| Filed under: CanadialandIcky Icky PooWacky, Tacky & TrueLegal MattersHeath Ledger

We truly can't believe how crazy this story is getting.

Randy and Evi Quaid were arrested in Vancouver on Wednesday after police discovered that the couple were wanted on several outstanding warrants in the U.S. for failing to show up in court.

And now the couple is asking for refuge in Canada because they feel they are being persecuted in the U.S. and may be "murdered" under suspicious circumstances.

During their immigration hearing, they have asked to seek asylum so that they can escape "Hollywood star whackers" who they believe murdered David Carradine and Heath Ledger.

OMG!!! Are they serious???? What the hell??

To make things even more unbelievable, Quaid says he did not go to Canada to escape the warrants, but instead was considering relocating to Vancouver to restart his career. During the hearing, he replied, "I love Canada. It's been a very welcoming nation to me. I would not do anything to besmirch my reputation."

Too late, buddy, too late!! Randy Quaid makes National Lampoon's Cousin Eddie look completely normal and sane.

What do U think about this crazy couple??

In all seriousness, are they both suffering from schizophrenia? This is no longer entertaining. Either they are just low lifes that think they are above the law or they are eat up with schizophrenia and need medication…..now!!!

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by a disintegration of the process of thinking and of emotional responsiveness.[1] It most commonly manifests as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking, and it is accompanied by significant social or occupational dysfunction. —-per Wikipedia

I'm quite sure we'll be sending them both back south of the border in no time, and if for some reason we don't and Canada offers them asylum I'll move out of this damn country myself. There are millions of people in the world who have REAL life or death reasons to seek asylum and these two idiots should be ashamed of themselves for equating the situation they got themselves into with any other.

  4. 4

Um, this was in the local news two days ago!

  5. 5

They seem mentally unbalanced. Meds might help. But they're right about Canada–the freest country in the world!

I can't believe it has come to this with him and he doesn't see how bad things have gotten. I hope that the prison in Canada has made him and his batshit crazy wife see a doctor and they have made them both seek mental health counselors and get on meds.

We don't even know if it has even a ounce of truth to the story …. Far fetched sounding … yes …
Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, were released on cash bonds of $10,000 each after a bizarre appearance Friday at an Immigration and Refugee Board hearing in Vancouver.
There, the pair — who were arrested a day earlier on outstanding U.S. warrants — told an adjudicator that the actor has had eight close friends murdered in recent years, adding they fear that they could be next.
In a handwritten note, shown to media by their Vancouver-based lawyer, Brian Tsuji, the couple said: "Yes we are requesting asylum from Hollywood 'STAR WHACKERS.'"
Those Quaid counts among his "murdered" friends include actors Heath Ledger and David Carradine.
Ledger died in 2008 from an apparent drug overdose, while Carradine died last year, from what police said was auto-erotic asphyxiation.
The couple was whisked into the detention-review hearing before the Immigration and Refugee Board on Friday past a cluster of reporters and photographers.

  24. 24

Quaid and his wife said they felt they had been unfairly treated by the U.S. justice system and promised to appear at future hearings, if released.
"I would not do anything to besmirch my reputation any further than it has been," the actor said.
"I'm trying to do damage control."
Evi Quaid insisted they would not flee, if released, and even offered to wear an ankle bracelet.
"I say it in front of the world press," she said. "I will be here and so will my husband."
She added: "I feel safe here."
The Canada Border Services Agency argued that the pair should be kept in custody until their next hearing.
"Both are fugitives from justice," said CBSA representative Jim Murray, adding that the pair had failed to appear at previous court proceedings on other matters.
Their clothing slightly rumpled, Evi leaned on her husband at times during the hearing. Both appeared relieved when adjudicator Daphne Shaw-Dyck granted their release.
It was unclear Friday night whether the couple had posted their bonds.
Their next appearance in front of the board is set for Oct. 28.
Vancouver police said they received a call for assistance Thursday in the city's west side and while checking the identities of the pair — who turned out to be Quaid and his wife — authorities learned they were wanted on outstanding warrants.

  25. 25

Warrants were issued Oct. 18 after the couple failed to show up for an arraignment in Santa Barbara, California, on allegations the two had caused more than $5,000 damage at a residence.

  26. 26

The pair, who arrived in Canada on Oct. 17, said they crossed the border unaware that they had been charged and had a court date in California.
They said they came to Vancouver to relax and to talk to an agent about jump-starting Quaid's acting career.
The formerly Oscar-nominated Quaid is best-known for his role as Cousin Eddie in the National Lampoon's Vacation movies, but he has also held supporting roles in such Hollywood blockbusters as Brokeback Mountain, Kingpin and Independence Day.
Quaid's arrest comes one day after Duane Chapman — better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter — threatened to come after the fugitive.
"I hope Randy Quaid and his wife are watching right now," said Chapman, a reality TV star and bounty hunter, while appearing on the Lopez Tonight, a late-night TV show hosted by comedian George Lopez.
"We're announcing that he has a chance to call these authorities to turn himself in," Chapman said.
"At least do it for your wife and for how you were raised. If not, the Chapman family is coming after you."
He said Quaid has been struggling lately and was not himself.
"We need to do, like, an intervention, Dog-style."
Moments before they were escorted out of the hearing room into a mob of flashing cameras, Evi Quad continued to insist that their lives were in danger.

  27. 27

Yup, claim refugee status and they can get welfare and free medical. Dumb Ass immigration system we have.

  28. 28

This is so sad he was a good funny actor. What happen to him?…..Did anyone else notice how sheer that dress is? Maybe, that was a warning sign of what was to come.

  29. 29

Re: Canadian_Idiot – Dog Chapman isn't allowed in canada since he's a convicted felon. Dumb doesn't get better apparently.

Re: MRSMOMOA – Can't miss the dress or the fact that she's not wearing anything under it. I think its the metal plate in Randy's head that is picking up the voices that they listen to ;)

Re: freak – Fair would be Canada take all 4!

  35. 35

They should join the Tea Party. Some one would vote for them.

  36. 36

Evi is SO SEXY! Want to see her naked… I'd happily be crazy with her and rail her up the butt all the time like she so obviously likes. Seriously, I'd body worship her! Evi, you're so fine!

  37. 37

Drug induced psychosis accommpanied by megalomania. Nothing more.

    I'm guessing crack.

Another Hollywood freak mocks the problems of real refugees.
    Classy move there Randy.
(quote from a guy named Joe Gopher on a CBC comment thread.)

Do the sudden conspiracy Quaids really think that 'star whackers' don't have passports?
Actual Refugees usually claim torture, but in their case, I venture it will be Canadians who will be tortured by the exploits of these two until they boot back to face the charges they're trying to run from.

  40. 40

So, nobody else thinks Evi is sexy but me?

  41. 41

    We don't want them!
Damn, that's a lot of nipple!

  42. 42

really still posting the pics of that trashy couple with the woman in the see thru dress?

  43. 43

Re: JasonDiggy – Dog IS allowed in Canada and has been here many times over the past year. Not sure where you get your info from. Also, each person is considered individually when charged with a felony on admittance into the country, unless charges are of murder, drugs, etc.

  45. 45

An American refugee…. lol!!!!!!!! That's the best one I've heard all day. hehe… Well good luck with that!

Re: Marcus75YOW – If they think someone is out to get them now, just wait until it snows.

  47. 47

Folie a deux! They both seem to share the same madness (or else Randy just does all the talking). I'd advise some books on mental health that are non-drug focused like Good Food, Good Mood by Gary Null and getting in touch with Margot Kidder who had her own bout of being seriously disconnected from reality. There have been interesting positive results with Vitamin Therapy (I forget which one or ones) and Schizophrenia. Either that or they are full of poo and trying to escape the law. Ledger died from an overload of prescription meds and Carradine from a freaky sexcapade. I'm all for a good conspiracy theory but this isn't one of them. The whole thing is disburbing and sad.
