    Um, so her dad had no issues with her and the sexual overtones of The Professional when she was like 10? Leon the Professional is the European Version and has even more sexual undertones! And Yeah! What about the Closer? I guess out of these two movies there were no girl on girl action…interesting he has a problem with this movie!!!!

    Although it would be werid and uncomfortable to see your offspring nude or whatever on the big screen, I think a parent should just accept that is part of being a performer and taking on the role of a character. To distance yourself Mr. Portman, is just wrong. Have your opinion, but an adult can do as she pleases to enhance her artistic career.

    I hope it's not all as bad as it appears here, her respect both her parents, and their support of her is quite refreshing in the modern world. However I do hope he is somewhat unhappy, and expressive of it. I'm sure she gets pushed more than I see to do far worse scenes, and knowing her parents are there concerned about her must be a great help in keeping focused on how she really wants to be.

    Re: mw – no, i agree with you. she has a very pretty face and carries herself with a lot of class. i think all this (plus her one good, classic performance when she was like 14 in the Professional) clouds people's judgement as far as her actual acting abilities. at the end of the day, she is a one dimensional, boring actress. she was the most unconvincing and most uninteresting stripper ever in Closer. same in all of her other adult roles.
    but she is so pretty, that it is probably doesn't matter. i bet she is awesome to look at as a ballerina.
