Video Games Getting It Right!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayTech TalkLGBT

Imagine a world where as a Prince, you can fight in medieval battles by day and by night, return home to your loving husband and children! Such a game exists and we're so pleased to see such equality in the video game genre.

Since 2004, the game Fable has been a fan favorite for gamers and has always let it's players chose their own destiny while immersed in Albion, the virtual world. You can be anyone, love anyone and even adopt children without ridicule, which is a new feature exclusive to the last installment, Fable III.

Peter Molyneux, creative director at Microsoft Game Studios Europe, explains:

“We don't require you to be of a certain type to get married. You can be gay. You can be bisexual. You can get married as many times as you like. It's up to you. My fascination is with what that means to people. It means they can be who they are rather than who I require them to be.

Can someone send this guy to represent us in the Senate? We think he'd fair well!

We think this is really rad! Definitely something a lot of people are going to respond positively to!

Is "rad" the new "amazeballs"? You think you can do a post..just ONE without telling everyone how "rad" you think something/someone is? Whoever writes this crap sounds like they're 14 years old.

  5. 5

This is the gayest thing I've ever heard of.

Mario, Ubisoft games have had similar features for years. Dragon Age even had gay sex scenes, among other things, and no one batted an eyelash. It's not like you're discovering hot water here.

Perez, this is why you should stick to celebrity news. Just about everything in this article is dead wrong. You've been able to get married and have kids since Fable 1, to whatever gender you pleased. Also, while the games are great, Peter Molyneux is kind of an idiot. If you knew anything about games you'd know this. Seriously, no one is going to run out and buy this because you can get gay-married in it. The people who are going to buy is are buying it because they're fans of the fable series.

Trust me, you do NOT want Peter Molyneux to represent you in Senate. Everything he touches tends to come crashing down. He likes to describe EVERYthing as being "epic" and over-hypes everything as well.
And, really, this is not all that new to games. Look at other RPGs and you'll find same-sex marriages and relationships scattered all over the place. Look up Dragon Age, or even the Fallout series for example. That's sort of the draw, the appeal, of RPGs. You can be whoever you want to be, and no one can or will say anything about it.

    More gay agenda.

So, I was reading this and I got to the loving husband part, and thought "Huh? That's strange. Perez caring about women's rights and equality?" But then I read further and realized he was just talking about the gay thing again. Ho hum.

oh come on, if you're going to write about video games PLAY THEM…

i'm all for video games but if you don't know wtf you're talking about leave them alone.

  13. 13

To any gamer, this isn't new.

Stick to what you know. Fable, while enjoyable, isn't even the best RPG.

  14. 14

    The Fable games are awesome!
You drink a potion in the second one to change your sex.

  15. 15

mass effect also allows gay stuff.

  16. 16

not the first game to have this

You can do this shit in "The Sims" too.

  18. 18

If he ever actually played the game, he's also know that you can murder your spouse…gay or straight…what do you think of that, Perez? Should we condemn him now for promoting violence against gays?
