This is sickeningly horrific.

A Florida woman named Alexandra Tobias has pled guilty to the second-degree murder of her 3-month-old son after he interrupted her while she was playing the Facebook game FarmVille.

According to investigators, her child, Dylan Lee Edmondson, began crying while she was playing the farm simulation game, and she lost her patience and shook him so hard that he may have hit his head.

She could face up to 50 years in prison.

As she should!

A monstrous act! And all over a game on effing FACEBOOK! Absolute nonsense.

Woman? Seriously? No woman would do that to their child. This is a girl who has proven to be irresponsible in at least two aspects of her life, and she should absolutely serve a life sentence at minimum. This makes me sick to my stomach. As a mother of a 10-month-old daughter, I understand how easy it is to get frustrated with a crying infant. However, there is NO amount of crying and screaming on a child's part that should ever create a reaction like that. Absolutely, absolutely horrible.

In addition, I work in the admissions department of a psychiatric hospital. I am absolutely aware of the possibility and REALITY of mental illness, especially in regards to the situation, but that does not ever excuse an action like this. Even the most severe and acute patients have a general understanding of right and wrong, even if they choose to do the wrong thing. Mental illness does not excuse ANYONE from consequences. The fact is that this girl needs to experience the consequences of her actions, and she probably deserves more than whatever it is that she's sentenced to.

Re: StephanieLauran – The POINT HERE is that people should have recognized that this baby was leaving the hospital and entering a bad environment. The police were called to her home and her and her boyfriend was arrested. Lots of people could see that for whatever reason, this baby was in danger. I don't care what was wrong with this young woman's head. And who says that she is mentally ill. Maybe she was just angry and hated this baby. And instead of doing the decent thing and asking for help or giving this baby to a relative for awhile or even putting the baby up for adoption, she chose to bang his head up against the computer keyboard. You can bet that there were plenty of people who knew and should have stepped in and did nothing.

My mother was an only child and was adopted and was raised by a cold woman who never loved her and my mother would have KILLED trying to protect one of her children. It's called MATERNAL INStinct! And some women simply don't have this. They are genetically incapable of being parents. Sterilization is the only solution.
