Mike Tyson On Mel Gibson
There's been all types of drama surrounding Mel Gibson being fired from The Hangover 2, and it seems to be overwhelmingly anti-Gibson.
For the first time, we've got somebody besides Jodie Foster who is willing to defend Mel Gibson…or at least sort of defend him!
Here's what Mike Tyson had to say about Mel:
"I'm not going to ever in my life point my finger at anyone. I don't live in a glass house. None of us do. I work with anybody, as long as they're respectful. We all have that guy — a Mel Gibson — in us. We just don't want people to be exposed to it. Maybe he needs to go get help. We all need help, and need someone to talk to. I'm not against him, but I'm not for him."
We're not sure if we're entirely on board, but admittedly you make a couple of surprisingly valid comments, Mike.

A rapist defending a man who attacked a woman. Why is this surprising? I find it pretty amazing that a film which had enough principles to eschew Gibson finds it acceptable to have Tyson appear.

Well, maybe not the physical violence, but I know that I've had some pretty heated fights with an ex that probably sounded just as bad.. dont lie, everyone has. It just sounds worse for someone who is in the public eye and had the world judging him. I dont think that he is all bad, just caught up in a bad situation. Does anyone really know what she did or said that wasnt recorded? Trust me, no one is a saint in that situation, except for the poor baby caught in between them.
Amazingly, MT sounds like his misfortunes and unfortunate dead of his young daughter have mellowed him, Realized he recently went off on a photographer-be it justified or not. So Mike still has the internal struggle going on.
What he says is correct though: we all need to be a little less judgmental because most of us are just one slip of the tongue away from not being Buddha-like.

He's no defending him, he's saying (and many agree) that he lost his temper. We all do. Only thing is, he's a drunk who's lost his temper and said horrible things that his wife recorded to share with the world. If my husband taped me when I was pissed and showed it to my peers, I'd be in trouble too. I swear like a trucker and say hurtful things.

What Mel did was horrid. What Tyson did was horrid. The only differences in these two (as far as the movie goes) is that a lot of time has passed for the crap that Tyson did. If this movie was being made 5-10 years from now, people wouldn't have had as big of a problem with it.
Have I had times in my life where I have gotten a little pissey and sharp with someone? Yes. Have I ever spoken to someone the way Mel Gibson spoke to that woman? Absolutely not.
I think we all have some "crazy" in us and there are people out there that can draw it out of you. Manipulators, mean, back stabbers, liars and many more types of people do this and in turn, cause the usually normal person to snap that normally wouldn't.

Hollywood is not surprisingly hypocritical in terms of judging character. Mike Tyson was convicted of rape and widely known for severely beating past girlfriends. Mel Gibson gets angry and says a word many of us have said or thought and we crucify this guy.
