I watched….not very scary but its a good story so far and has good acting and the zombies looked awesome so I'll keep watching…

I was really excited about seeing this. Read the graphic novels. Really well written books! The first episode was great in terms of setting what it would realistially look like. It was as you could imagine; but thought it was a bit slow… I also don't like the casting choice for Shane.

I'm hoping it picks up and does the books justice. I couldn't put them down. But I sped though some of the slower parts on this 1st episode. Fingers crossed.

    pretty cool pilot

I watched. It was pretty good. Great special effects and good storytelling. The editing was a bit wonky at times which left things disjointed but I will be watching next week.

I watched it and thought it was pretty good.

I thought the show was pretty good. I have never watched the comics at all so I didn't know what I was getting into, but I enjoyed it.

I watched it, we were watching the marathon of Halloween1-5 on yesterday and it subsequently was on after. Actually wasn't scary but it was well produced/made!!

for people writing that it wasn't scary, it isn't supposed to be scary.

I though the first episode was aweosme, I'm looking forward to the next episode

Zombie movies in general aren't scary. It's the irrational fear of the dead getting up and eating the living that makes them seem scary. I've never read the graphic novels but I do know some of the spoilers from them. It's as much about the relationships among the survivors as it is the zombies from what I've gathered. I'm looking for the rest of the season.

I liked it but it reminded me a lot of 28 Days later…especially the hospital scene where he wakes up etc etc etc

I was one of the late viewer (caught the 11pm premiere). I thought it was a great start to the series. Well-acted, not overly gory, and just enough suspense to keep you interested. I'm looking forward to how the rest of the season will play out. Setting my DVR.

After seeing your post I found it online and watched it. Amazing, not scary but a true depiction of what would really happen if the dead started to walk. New fav show!

    LOVED IT !

  18. 18

Wow, I had no idea this even existed. Did they even advertise it?

In any case, I'm glad that it had a strong premiere. AMC is quickly turning into my favorite network for quality shows.

I watched it and loved it….this is the show I have been waiting for my whole life

  20. 20

This is probably the best pilot episode I've ever seen. Loved everything

  21. 21

Oh my gosh, I'm super excited about this! Loved the comics! Gotta wait till the end of first season to watch it, though, cuz I can't watch shows one episode at a time, but it finally aired and the comments seem really nice! Super super super excited. A zombie show, with a budget no less… Thank you universe!

  22. 22

AMC is hot- so is TNT and USA. The (used to be) Majors better take note- people want better than 2 1/2 Men…

  23. 23

i watched it all 3 times…i think this will be on my top 10 favorite shows…i have always wanted a show like this. we always see zombie movies but they are only 1 1/2 hours, now we get to see an hour long each week of this. How amazing. Brilliant!

  24. 24

    Loved it!

  25. 25

Waited months and months for it's release and it was good. Great special effects for a TV series. I love the lonely feel of zombie stories.

  26. 26

I thought it was GREAT! New fav show!

  27. 27

It was good, but waaaay to violent. I get it, it's supposed to be a gory zombie show, but there were so many graphic gun shots to the head, it was just too much. My husband and I (both btw 30 - 35 yrs) said that we will give it one more chance, but won't keep watching if the violence stays so graphic. Maybe it's an American thing, but as a Canadian, I find it overkill (pun intended).

  28. 28

it was good but i hate the fast-moving zombies

  29. 29

"Loved it" !! I am such the Zombie freak its great that its a continuing series , "bummer" what happene to the horse and all though . Hell of a way to wake up from a coma I'll say :p

Re: BootoYou – You might as well stop watching now. The Walking Dead is based on a graphic novel series and there is lots of death and violence in the series.

On another note, You watched a show about how the dead are coming back to life and trying to consume the living and then complained that it was too violent? Are you out of your mind? Of course its violent/going to be violent. They aren't going to talk them into stopping. They are the walking dead. You need to stop them with a bullet to the brain.

P.S. Its not an American thing. Some of the goriest movies are made by an Italian man (Dario Argento). There is also a new British series bout zombies on IFC, it too is gory.

  31. 31

I loved it.The zombies looked funky.

  32. 32

Re: For Every Sprinkle I Find… – Yeah… I get that. It's a zombie series, but you don't have to actually show the head explode and all the brains splatter against the wall. There are many creative ways you can get around scenes like that while still maintaining the show's 'zombie integrity'. The scene where the zombie cop is holding onto the chain link fence and is shot point blank in the head was absolutely awful. Or the scene where the main character stumbles across the farm house and closes up on the young man who committed suicide via shot gun to the head went too far. And I also still think it is an American thing. You are far too desensitized to voilence and afraid of sex. It's wierd. Maybe I should just stop watching… but like I said, i'll give it one more chance.
