A Good Election Day For The Gays!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitik

We're so pleased to hear this! Let's hope they each use their power to do good for the LGBT community!

It was announced today that in 2010, more openly LGBT candidates were elected into political offices than ever before in U.S. history.

The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund backed 164 candidates this year and of those, 106 of them won their respective races!

A victory indeed! Congrats to them all! We're filled with mass amounts of PRIDE!

Now, lets get to work on DADT and Prop 8, okay?!?!

    GAYS HATE YOU MARIO

  2. 2

It was not a good election day everywhere - check out the Supreme Court Justice retention vote in Iowa. A definite step back!

So black people elect other black people solely because they are black.
Gay people elect other gay people solely because they are gay.

and people wonder why our country is in the shape its in..

mario - it doesn't matter if they're gay or not, politicians are politicians. on top of that, you scream about equality and then put out a poll like this which does nothing but alienate and classify homosexuals.

  5. 5

Uhm…the House is not repealing DADT. May as well shut up about that for a couple of years.

and even a better day for hetrosexuals….over 98% of the electorate enjoy man/woman sex!!!

I don't know what's more naive, your comment that it was a good election for the gays or "Now, lets get to work on DADT and Prop 8, okay?!?!"

Yes, a lot of gay people were elected to office but, unfortunately a lot more people - the kind that would very willingly amend the US and state constitutions to align our government with their religious doctrine.

Or how about we focus on the more important issues?
Why should Sexuality be such a HUGE topic. Get over it.
We have bigger things to tend to right now.
Let's address the Deficits, Taxes, the War, Health Care, etc…

do you care about ANYTHING other than yourself and where you wish you could put your cock??
    ___________

do you care about health care? economy? foreign relations? abortion? the defense of our country? ANYTHING else? Because…these elections were about ALL of those things and a whole lot more you narrow minded, self centered idiot.

Perez, maybe you should just stick to gossip because your political statements are ridiculous. With the Republican take over of the House and the evil, weirdly orange colored, drunken homophobe John Boner (oops, Boehner) as the house speaker you can kiss gay issues goodbye. Here's some of Boner's voting record concerning gay rights.
    *
Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination based on sexual orientation. (Nov 2007)
Voted YES on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman. (Jul 2006)
Voted YES on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage. (Sep 2004)
Voted YES on banning gay adoptions in DC. (Jul 1999)
Rated 0% by the HRC, indicating an anti-gay-rights stance. (Dec 2006)*

HARDLY. VOTERS ALSO THREW OUT THE CROOKED JUDGES WHO ILLEGALLY PERMITTED GAY MARRIAGE IN IOWA. THAT SENT A CLEAR MESSAGE THAT VOTERS ARE SICK AND TIRED OF JUDGES FORCING THIS GAY AGENDA DOWN OUR THROATS BY MAKING UNLAWFUL RULINGS
