Meghan McCain Vs. Bristol Palin

meghan mccain slams bristol palin for not voting

This was probs not the best idea ever, Bristol!

Bristol Palin didn't vote in Tuesday's midterm elections, and Meghan McCain is not happy with her about it.

Here's what Bristol said about it on Inside Edition:

"I did not send in my absentee ballot in Alaska. I'm going to be in trouble. Sorry, Mom!"

Here's what Meghan McCain said about it on The Tonight Show:

"I think a lot of women worked really hard to give us the right to vote, and I think anyone who doesn't vote is just ridiculous."

More from McCain:

"I guess it's only important for Bristol Palin to vote for Dancing with the Stars."

Ouch! Then again, Bristol sort of had that one coming.

Team Bristol or Team Meghan?

I don't like Meghan McCain! She seems like such a bitch! I feel bad for McCain that his daughter is like that! She needs to shut up! That is not her business!

  2. 2

neither they're both idiots and so r their parents

  3. 3

I'm with Meghan on this one.

  4. 4

I am on Team Creating jobs period. We need more jobs so we can all get out of this recession. Who cares about these two women really.

"Find 10000s of new jobs from major companies everyday on careerDaddy com'

  5. 5

Team Meghan. Ultimately I hope the conservatives end up killing each other in a hick off or something.

  6. 6

Meghan… it's shameful for a politician's daughter not to vote

  7. 7

Meghan McCain should mind her own business. Who is she to be lecturing Bristol Palin. Let's see her accomplishments are ………?

  8. 8

As a conservative/libertarian feminist, TEAM MEAGHAN! Anyone who doesn't vote is just lazy, unthankful and idiotic.

  9. 9

I gotta say, for a republican Megan McCain isn't that bad.

  10. 10

    jealous much…just sayin

  11. 11

I was a fan of Meghan a couple of months ago — and have no use for any Palins (except, maybe Trig) — but Meghan lost me after her View appearance this fall.

Meghan's become the 2010 version of the GOP Stepford Bride and has traded in her refreshingly open, honest, and modern point of view for the party line, kissing up to the Christian Taliban, re social issues like abortion.

Meghan's so concerned about offending some old white fart whose approval she thinks she needs in order to have a political voice that she's betrayed her gender, her generation, and most of all, herself.

I hope Meghan recovers from the obvious damage that being kicked off Daddy's campaign (so she wouldn't be a bad influence on that unwed high school drop out fake poster child for "abstinence") and finds herself again. If Meghan doesn't take back her own voice, she's figuratively as cheap and shallow as Bristol is in reality.

  12. 12

I don't necessarily side with Bristol but if she didn't keeo up with who is saying or doing what I think the responsible thing is to NOT vote.

  13. 13

TEAM MEGHAN all the way! Bristol is an undereducated vacuous twit. It seems as if she is actually making a joke about not voting.

  14. 14

Team Meghan! Bristol Palin's an idiot.

  15. 15

Shut up Meghan. It is also her right not to vote if for whatever reason she doesn't get around to it. And what is this "women worked really hard to give us this right"? Women have had the vote for a while. It's been their right for a long time now.

  16. 16

Meghan who??? Even when we don't agree with what ppl do there are better ways to bring it to attention without sounding like a snooty rich kid…

  17. 17

I never ever thought I would say this. Team Bristol!!

  18. 18

Nobody should force anyone to vote! We all know that Bristol comes from a family involved in politics but that doesn't mean that she HAS to vote if she doesn't want to. Even if she voted bc she was forced, I'm sure the vote didn't mean anything to her — which would then mean that she probably didn't care who she chose.

  19. 19

This is so not even close that there isn't even a "team" Bristol. Just like her mom when she quit her job in office, Bristol, please disappear also!
Meghan (not just in this situation) seems like the most reasonable Republican I've heard in years.
    Team Meghan!

  20. 20

Get a life, Meghan. Over 50% of the eligible voters do not vote in midterm or presidential elections. Team Bristol.

  21. 21

Meghan needs to just go away. Does she really have a mission in life? She is just riding on her Dad's fame. Go way Meghan, you are just a rich, spoiled nobody!

  22. 22

    Team Meghan all the way!!!!!!!!

  23. 23

I'm Team Neither. My personal opinion on voting is to vote if you feel compelled. I didn't vote in the midterm election because I didn't like any of the candidate options and none of the propositions were very important to me and none, it seemed, would have a massive negative fiscal impact on the state. So why waste vote counters' time writing in "none of the above" for the candidates and such? Or worse, offering a vote that did not reflect my true opinion? I think it's ridiculous to say "everyone should vote because we're lucky enough to have a right to." Why vote just for the sake of being able to say you did? My "vote" was to not vote in protest of the clowns running for office. And I don't really care if people want to hate on me for that. I voted in 2008 because there were ballot measures I viewed as crucial and then of course there was selecting the next president. I'd never have forgiven myself if I hadn't voted then. Do I regret my choice this year? No.

Btw- saying we should vote because were lucky enough to have the right to is like saying everyone should own a gun because we have the right to. Now I think that is a ridiculous statement. If people in this country exercised every single right we have… I don't really think the US would be in a very good position at all.

  24. 24

Team Bristol. Voting is a choice. Meghan is just mad that Sarah Palin ruined her fathers chance at the presidency

  25. 25

    Team Intelligence…

So… neither. Nor their mothers. Or their political party in general.

  26. 26

Re: lexxie502 – I think Howard Stern was right. If McCain had truly wanted the Presidency, he would never have chosen trainwreck, white trash Palin. Sarah gave McCain the graceful out of having to try to fix the horrific mess that Dumbya and Cheney left in their wake. And Fuck McCain for standing in the way of repealing DADT — things and attitudes have changed since Viet Nam, pops!

  27. 27

What I don't understand is HOW Bristol is still on DWTS? She's been in the bottom multiple times, and yet she's still there and better people are leaving. I think it's rigged. It's complete bullshit.

  28. 28

As much as I hate to admit it I have to side with Bristol on this one. Not everyone feels the need to vote! I have refused to vote until I find a canidate who doesn't resort to dirty politics and and smear ads, needless to say I have yet to find one. Just as it's our right to vote it's also our right to NOT vote! Why should you vote for one party or another? You are supposed to vote on a canidate whose beliefs you agree with. That's what is wrong with our country. Agree with me or not I don't care, that's just my opinion!

  29. 29

how about "team everyone has the right to do or not do WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY WANT and people shouldn't judge because no one is perfect"

  30. 30

Team Meghan, even though i don't like the bitch.

  31. 31

    I'm going for team "they-should-both-bend-over-and-show us-their-republican-tittays-through-their-leg-V's.

  32. 32

Re: GOSSiP__xo – 15 year old girls shouldn't be aloud to speak.

  33. 33

The right to vote is the right to CHOOSE whether or not to vote. Just like freedom of speech doesn't mean I have to share every idiotic thing that crosses my mind.

  34. 34

Team Meghan. What an idiot- not to vote. Sorry- but I have no sympathy for Bristol. We received the right to vote and should always vote. What an idiot!

  35. 35

sheeeat!!! I'm starting to REALLY like Meghan McCain.

  36. wendi says – reply to this

    36

McCain is an idiot. Yes women now have the right to vote, it's a choice not something that we are forced to do. Saying that anyone who doesn't vote is ridiculous is putting yourself in a really bad position. She has in her childish attempt to put Bristol down, put down all women that make the choice to not vote. Not a good thing to do when the family business is politics!

  37. 37

    Re: hollywoodatlanta

What Hollowood said. I couldn't care less about either one of them.

  38. 38

Re: blueyedgal – that's the dumbest allegory I've ever heard. Seriously.
    .
Women were beaten and jailed and starved and abused for protesting the right to vote. Every woman who scoffs at voting should have to go through what they did. It's your duty as someone who lives in this country and benefits from all it offers.

  39. 39

Re: redmond – AGREED! My favorite Republican!

  40. 40

Team neither — but at least Bristol was honest about it.

  41. 41

    They're both REALLY stupid.

    Why are they on TV?

    Their parents lost?

    OUGH.

  42. 42

As much as I hate what the Palins stand for, Bristol is a young single mother working long hours — she's not a politician. Cut her some slack.

  43. 43

mind your own fucking business, Meghan

  44. 44

Re: TheMrsBradPitt – How am I scoffing at voting? In no way am I discounting the right to vote. Actually, I respect it greatly. As I said, I proudly voted in 2008 when there were people I believed in on the ballot and propositions I thought were important.

This election season, however, both Whitman and Brown are terrible choices for governor and Boxer and Florina are both terrible choices for senate. And the only proposition of real substance was prop 19 and to be honest, I'm indifferent about that too. As for the local government people on the ballot and other state positions, well, I wasn't happy with those people either. Either I'd heard nothing about them or they were engaging in highly negative campaigns which I don't support. The last thing California needs is more negativity.

So, why should I vote if my vote would, essentially, be meaningless to me because it does not accurately represent my opinion? I don't believe in voting just for the sake of it, just because we have the right. If you are uneducated about the issues or, like me, don't like any of the options you've been presented with, why should you participate? I'm all for voting, and will gladly do so when there's someone or something on the ballot that I believe in.

So, please tell me, how am I scoffing at the right to vote?

  45. 45

Bristol Palin is the new model for success in America. It's built on FAILURE! All you need do is make a sex tape, get arrested, have a child out of wedlock as a teen etc, and you are on the map. She is considered a celebrity on dancing with the stars, for what? Having a baby at 17? And she she makes shitloads of $$$ preaching abstinence to high school students! LOL! Those who can, do, those who can't, teach!

  46. 46

    OMG. STFU Meghan. Dumb bitch.

  47. 47

Team Bristol of course! Meghan McCain is an idiot, she probably didn't even vote.

  48. 48

McCain is not a CONSERVATIVE nor is she a TRUE Republican. I get so irritated when she markets herself as such. I wish the media would do their job and research this fact because this McCain wench is lying and the media is giving her a free pass to do so. You will find that this back stabbing bitch voted for the democratic presidential candidate, John Kerry in 2004 and Gore in 2000. She only voted Republican when her father ran. I distinctly remember an interview years back where she stated this on the record. I am trying to remember when it was. At least Palin is honest and doesn't lie about not voting. Team Palin!

  49. 49

TEAM BRISTOL ALL THE WAY. Meghan is a spoiled rich kid. She had put Bristol down from day 1 of meeting the YOUNG pregnant teen. Sarah has not given Bristol a free ride. Bristol has had to work to support her son. Meghan has a FREE ride her entire life.

  50. 50

    Re: blueyedgal
A little long-winded, but I agree with you. And it's a good thing you're not easily swayed by guilt-inducing tactics as some people tried to put on you.

  51. 51

I THINK YOU SHOULD ONLY VOTE IF YOU ARE EDUCATED(actually know the issues and both sides and clearly informed) ON THE ISSUES!!! IF NOT DO NOT VOTE!!!!!!!!! Bristol did the right thing!

  52. 52

People have the right to Kill themselves. Does that mean they should? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  53. 53

    who cares about voting.

  54. 54

team i don't give a shit.. i don't like bristol she's annoying and idky she's on dancing with the stars because guess what she isn't one and neither should be her mother.. i don't get a lot of Americas fascination with either of them.. and people wonder why our country is sucking more and more.. get serious people..

  55. 55

Re: Broughttoyoubytheletterz – There's that leftist tolerance we know so well…

  56. 56

THEYRE BOTH CHUNKY WITH BIG BOOBS AND THEY BOTH LIKE TO HAVE RAUNCHY SEX

  57. 57

Re: Nikita1218 – NOT EVERYONE SHOULD VOTE IDIOTS LIKE YOU , MEGAN AND BRISTOL ARE TOO STUPID TO VOTE SO PLEASE DONT!!!

  58. 58

Team neither of them, but Megan McCain is a royal bitch. She needs to shut her mouth and do something productive. What a fame whore.

  59. 59

if you didn't vote, you CAN'T COMPLAIN! your apathy is the problem with the country

  60. 60

I am so sick of this crap, if you forget to vote asentee, just go to any polling place and fill out a provisional ballot. idiot. your mom is in the freaking government, or was. u of all people should know that bristupid.

  61. 61

Re: klingchad – It's too bad I'm not 15. Nice try though.

  62. 62

Re: rhyssa – In case you haven't heard, Bristol Palin is registered to vote in Alaska… because she lives there. She is currently living in California because she's doing the show. So she couldn't have exactly gone to any polling place to cast her vote.
Fitting that you called her an idiot-takes one to know one.

  63. 63

Meghan McCain does not seem to understand that the RIGHT to vote does not then create an OBLIGATION to vote. Part of the right for women to vote is the right for women to obstain from voting, if they so choose. That is what the empowerment of women is really all about: Women having choices. I know Megan McCain is starved for attention and will say and do anything just to get the spotlight, but in this instance, she REALLY makes herself sound like a first-class moron who is clearly so jealous of Bristol Palin, she can't stand it.

  64. 64

Most people didn't vote because they didn't like the choices being given them….it's that simple. If you were asked ro eat dog meat or cat meat would you eat either of them?

  65. 65

Fuck Meghan McCain! Her daddy isn't even a true Republican. She's famous for no reason. Even if she lost 15 lbs, she'd become a butter face. She should just zip it!

  66. 66

I dislike both Palin and McCain- but I have to side with McCain on this one. Overall, she is definitely the more intelligent one. Meghan has written a book, appears on T.V., and is not afraid to take sides on political issues (esp. gay marriage). On the other hand, the only noteworthy thing Bristol has done is…well, she had a baby, but that’s not saying much!

  67. 67

If you aren't going to vote, then why are you living in a country that was founded on the guarantee of the right to vote???? Not a fan of either, but am siding with Meghan- not only is she right, but she’s a whole lot more intelligent than Palin (both Bristol & Sarah that is…)

  68. 68

    Re: MarioMonjack
You are in desperate need of psychological help!! It is not Obama nor the Democrats who are screwing up this country, rather…it is people like YOU!!!

  69. 69

TEAM Meghan - Bristol Palin is a potato face.

  70. 70

Re: GothamGirl – Agreed… Nothing more to say on top of that

  71. 71

Team Meghan!!! That bitch is fierce

  72. 72

WHY IS BRISTOL STILL ON DWTS. WE ALL KNOW SHE CAN'T DANCE. SHE IS THE ONLY DANCER ON THE SHOW TO GAIN WEIGHT.

  73. 73

    Team Meghan all the way

  74. 74

I think Meghan should relax, if she is pro feminism she shouldn't try to dehumanize another women by using some vague statement she doesn't really grasp the concept of. She "think[s] a lot of women worked really hard to give us the right to vote". Damn rights a lot of women worked hard to give us the right to vote, but because of a collective effort… why do women feel the need to fight amongst themselves? Bristol may be the daughter of Sarah Palin, but it doesn't necessarily mean that she understands how politics works or what each party stands for. She is young, she can figure out what she believes in the next few years. I believe Meghan was being petty.

  75. 75

Re: Eldridge Cleaver – Re. comment #65. your such a hypocritical asshole. making fun of Megan McCain about her weight and calling her a butter face, but any time Perez says something sassy about someone you accuse him of being a bully. if you didn't agree with what she said (even though it was true) that's one thing, but there was no reason to rag on her looks. i guess it's unfortunate that everyone can't look as perfect as you must think you do.

  76. 76

Team Neither: Bristol is a moron and Meghan is a shrill tramp. Neither contributes anything of value to this universe.

  77. 77

Meghan has a point here: women before us fought very hard and faced A LOT of backlash and criticism for getting us the right to vote, and in less than a century it's been totally taken for granted. For a politician's daughter not to cast a ballot is pretty surprising. I just hope she doesn't have the cheek to complain about politics until the next election - people who don't vote have no right to complain about something they didn't participate in. This talk about her being a single mom and not having the time is BS. You are permitted to take your child into the voting booth with you, so that's a crap argument.

Sorry, voter apathy makes me crazy!

  78. 78

Yeah, you are all right… this is nobody business and the right of vote is a choice. but as a daughter of a politician she must give an example to the youth. In the meanwhile, everybody get the right for voting for granted… just think about how lucky we are to leave in a democracy… or should we not vote, like in China, Nord Korea, Cuba, etc… ?

  79. 79

I didn't vote either. Not because I'm lazy, but because there was NOBODY that appealed to me for New York State Senate. They're ALL assholes! Meghan needs to shut the fuck up. As a woman, it is Bristol's CHOICE not to vote. If there are no good candidates, might as well not waste your time.

  80. 80

And the Palins slowly reveal themselves for what they really are!!
    Who is surprised????

  81. 81

Who cares what McCain thinks? Bristol can vote, or not vote for whoever the hell she wants.

  82. 82

I'm Team I'll Vote When There's Someone I Think Is Worth Voting For.

  83. 83

Re: blueyedgal – I completely agree.

  84. 84

While her comments are mean-spirited, I agree with McCain. Women worked very hard for us to have the right to vote, I always vote for that reason.

  85. 85

    Re: Genghis Khan
Women have only had the right to vote since 1920 in the US (short time if you compare it to men), and it was a long and hard fight for women's suffrage. Some women view it as an obligation, myself included, to honor the women and men who fought for us. That said, I agree that Bristol has the right to do whatever she wants to do, and McCain was mean-spirited here…not sure why she has to comment on Bristol?

  86. 86

    I'm on team NEITHER ONE……

  87. 87

Meghan McCain is the north end of a south facing horse!

Hey you dumb blonde, get an education, get a job and become an actual person of substance making a contribution to our society. Then you might have a right to open your pie hole - but not until then.

  88. 88

Re: Broughttoyoubytheletterz – You are an offensive and hateful little trollop and your comments are completely inappropriate.

  89. 89

WOMEN HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE~ YES THANK YOU MEGAN FOR POINTING THAT OUT.

But as Americans we have the right to not vote as well.

  90. 90

I think Bristol is redic! I am with Meghan, how incredibly pathetic of Bristol to not vote.

  91. 91

    Re: Mikel Johnsan – Exactly.

  92. 92

Team Bristol. Meghan's goal in life seems to be liked and accepted by the Hollywood celebrities. She seems to be consumed by her self importance which is unearned. What has this girl done in life besides being a loudmouth. At least Bristol is trying to accomplish something.

  93. 93

I don't really like netiher, but I prefer team meghan because she talks like she has more brain cells than bristol.

Plus, WHY is Bristol Still on DWST. She's kay but not that good. She lacks PERSONALITY. Shes so dull and boring.

  94. 94

Whoever sides with Bristol is an idiot.

McCain has a mind. (her father might not..) but she definitely has one

  95. 95

Re: birdlegs – Oh yeah and Bristol's accomplishments are getting pregnant at 16, introducing the world to her douche bag baby daddy, and being the fatty on dwts far too long.

  96. 96

Meghan McCain is a fucking RINO who makes Lisa Murkowski look downright conservative. I have far more respect for her father than I do for her.

  97. 97

You know what, if you're apathetic towards politics, then it's foolish to vote just for the sake of it. I really like Meghan McCain but in this case it seems like she's saying "I'm sophisticated and politick and you're a silly little girl".

  98. 98

    team megan definitely
i don't like her father but I definitely like her, love her attitude

  99. @v@ says – reply to this

    99

It's important to vote, and I never miss; but Bristol is her own captain. Meghan's DWTS remark seems unecessary, considering, and I agreed with her position and she had me completely until the catty crack.
