  5. 5

why would that not be legit??

  6. 6

It's fake. I'm a film student and I've worked with one of those actors before (the black guy).

  7. 7

    Staged and very cheesy.

  8. 8

It did seem kind of fake unfortunately.

  9. 9

WTF!!!!!!! Straight people still get married????? thats messed up yo!

  10. 10

Theres no way he woulda thrown it to her if it was real.

fake and she is a terrible actress

  12. 12

Completely and Utterly fake. This takes the word SUCKS to a whole new level. Horrible actors, horrible singer, and horrible idea all together. EPIC FAIL!

  13. 13

    Fake and Gay!!!!

  14. 14

    F A K E and phony as hell.

  15. 15

Hey Perez, your healthy eating tips in the preceding blurb, state that, "When I perform baratric surgery on a patient…" LMAO. What exactly is "baratric"? In any case, either you really do practice surgery on others or you clipped this and quoted someone and made no attempt to attribute the entire thing. You freaking quote someone you never even name. Serious fail.

  16. 16

    fake but really sweet!!!

  17. 17

I'm a pretty tech savy guy. It might have been real, and probably didn't go as smoothly as it appeared. There was definitely a lot of editing involved. There's no way they achieved that type of video quality with iPhones. Everything was probably filmed with high quality handhelds, and the audio was too perfect. Everyone in the video was obviously mic'd or there was a boom. The apps that were on their laptops/iphones don't even exist. It was all probably done up in post. Good try though.

  18. 18

    the band sucked

  19. 19

Re: ImOldGreg – hahah THATS TRUE!!!

i thought it was fake too, but what really annoyed me is that this video IS NOT TECH SAVVY. i mean? wtf did all the people w iphones have to do w tech savviness? i was expecting something more electronical haha

  20. 20

Nice concept but… Bad actors :(

  21. 21

Fake only because of the huge film camera seen at 2:01

also…. who really THROWS an engagement ring.

  22. 22

    Too cute.

  23. 23

this was stupid and I saw a continuity error with her purse, which disappeared from the railing she was leaning on.

  24. 24

I love how he makes her row the boat.

    - It's either fake or they re-shot a ton of it. If it's real they would have faked the band shots before/after the actual proposal the same of course of all the shots of the videographers with their iPhones.

What makes me think it's real is that the band is so awful.

  25. 25

Super fake! really why would all those people bee needed to pull off something so easy! It's a cute idea but i'm sure its been done!

  26. 26

  27. 27

FAKE, but it was still sweet.

  28. 28

  29. 29

fake or not, clever and sweet concept. funny is the throwing of the ring. so typical of a dude. and then making her row, also pretty dude-ish.

  30. 30

Fake! Watch her bag: disappears, then reappears.

  31. 31

Where did her purse go? FAKE

  32. 32

No guy throws down for a diamond ring and tosses it over a brook and onto a bridge that's accessible to total strangers in New York City of all places. Nice editing, though.

  33. 33

Super fake, but well-intentioned. The girl was the WORST actress I've ever seen.

  34. 34

totally fake. for one thing, it looks like a bad film school project made by undergrads and non-union actors. plus why were all those people needed - exactly how did their "tech savvy" help create this? all "Frank" needed to do was hire the (really crappy) band and tell his gf to meet him at that spot. hopping a boat in Central Park and rowing there is no big deal.

  35. 35

faux, faux, faux…and shame on anyone who believes that was authentic. the only thing genuine about it was the phenomenally bad singing of stand by me…that was too unfortunate to be staged. dear female lead, dial back the gaping maw reaction while visually inspecting the ring. and perez, you too…not everything is "amazeball"-ific as you pretend it to be. did you get compensated for posting this?

  36. 36

fake!!! and no it was not the best marriage proposal ever….not even close. none of them could even act - it was so phony.

  37. 37

bad acting, cheap camera shots, definately a film school project

  38. 38

This video is such a completely staged/fake piece of crap. It's just horrible. The only reason to not want to smack whoever made it was the fact that the singer guy is hot. :O)

  39. 39

Oh, and that broad looks like an ugly boy. WTF is she wearing that crap for??
I also can't imagine how anyone could think this shit was real… or enjoyable.

  40. 40

they are all bad actors, but the girl is the worst!

  41. 41

Yeah def a fake. her purse was beside her and then when she leaned over to say yes it was missing. Also it never showed the ring.

  42. 42

    Re: maggiegirl
Perez either didn't even watch this trash or has some other motive to praise this shit. Or is just delusional.

  43. 43

no one in hell throws 2 grand over a pond and "hopes" it does fall. Plus you have the.. "you CHUCKED my ring at me? seriously? You CHUCKED it at my face?" to deal with forever

  44. 44

    Sorry but this is fake!

  45. 45

so fuckin douchie real or fake. these moments are supposed to be between two people .any guy who proposes in a restaurant or anywhere else where there's more than just his intended love should put a bullet in their heads

  46. 46

    looks fucking fake.

  47. 47

I think Apple paid Perez to post this. Agree?

  48. 48

this is SOOOOOO fake! oh…let me throw an engagement ring from the wayer and hope she catches it…RIGHHT

  49. 49

fake- where is her bag when she turns around to see him. disappeared ;) watch it again ;) !

  50. 50

first of all, I don't think that was "the best" proposal ever. kind of lame actually. they should have used a real singer. also, I think it was fake, because of all of the different camera angles used.

  51. 51

It has to be fake. "Kasey's" purse disappears and reappears throughout the video.

  52. 52

i know some of these people from nyc acting circles. so not real. and they are all kind of bad.

  53. 53

I say fake. What's up with her purse? She has this huge bag on the bridge railing when the band begins to play, but in the shots where he's proposing it's nowhere to be seen. (Not on the railing, not over her shoulder.) Then it reappears at the end as she's running to the boat. Poor editing.

  54. 54

Re: Rebecca Bourque – That is what I saw! I kept going back to see if it was there then it wasn't. Such a giveaway!

  55. 55

It's clearly clearly fake. As someone mentioned, you can see the camera at 2

Its obviously a viral video made by apple to subliminally advertise the iphone. The laptops being used are Apple, no doubt the headphones are. The website advertised goes nowhere.

Viral videos are the new way that companies are advertising, its cheap and it manipulates the public. Anyone who likes to make home videos will now go out and buy an iphone for the amazing quality (which, by seeing the camera at 2:01 proves that its not filmed on an iphone).

Its sneaky and its false advertising. Perez is involved in online media, so he 100% knows about product placement and viral video advertising. I just hope that noone falls for it and forwards on the video!!!

  56. 56

it def seemed like a phone commerical. dont get me wrong, it was sweet, but i think only because the music. Other then that i def think it was fake. It just seems a little to "lonely girl 15" to me. And now they are making there own website about it. like…come on totally fake

  57. 57

F*A*K*E. Hopefully the guy who was singing didn't quit his day job, or maybe he can be on the X Factor next and we can hear about him ad nauseum on Perez's blog. Way too much action for simple iPhones, he stops rowing and the boat stays still enough for him to toss a diamond ring up onto a bridge which she just happens to catch? Her purse is just sitting on the railing while she doesn't pay attention and it didn't get stolen? I think not. Cute concept for a school project, wouldn't cut it in the bigs.

  58. 58

fake fake fake. she's not a very good actress and the guy in the band isn't a very good singer.

  59. 59

Beautiful? Best ever? You're kidding, right?

  60. 60

wow…..that is so cheesy. Where do I begin…..the gazing over the bridge as if she is unaware of what is going on around her……..to not even reacting much to the band………to saying "why are you here??". Ughhh. What people will do to get their names out there :( Everyone is all perfectly dressed too……..at least have the "stagers" appear normal and not like actors.

  61. 61

Fake. The acting is awful! And would you have thrown the ring if it was real?!
Also, like the fact she had to row the boat ahahahaha.

  62. 62

It seems I am the only one who liked the band :P

  63. 63

    can you say advertisement?

  64. 64

no, its not for real. Im a good analytical person, i can see through her reactions that its not for real and she looks too camera aware. Im so sure, case closed.

  65. 65

It's clearly a viral video created by Apple. Notice how they're using all Apple products… Remember the "Priceless" commercials? Yeah, it's a marketing ploy to get you emotionally attached to the brand.

  66. 66

I don't get what was so amazing, and why wouldn't it be legit? It was nice, but all it was was a guy sitting in a boat under a bridge who had arranged for a song to be played!!!

  67. 67

damn! I thought it was real and so freakin cute! :(

  68. 68

Stupid and fake as shit. Not to mention that is not a romantic proposal. The band was aweful, throwing a ring at her and then making her row the boat. Stupid.

  69. 69

Fake. But I wish I had a video of when my now husband proposed. I was asleep and he brought my coffee for me and crawled back into bed and asked if I would marry him My first comment was WHAT. He asked again and we are now married. I thought he was kidding. LOL.

  70. 70

I dont care if it is fake or real. It is very stupid and a waste of time. Besides it is a horrible way to propose to someone.

  71. 71

    Fake, but very sweet.

  73. 73

very fake…and very cheesy! It almost seems like a marketing ploy for itouch or something

  74. 74

Re: ImOldGreg – I completely agree…no one would throw a diamond ring like that above water!

  75. 75

its an iphone commercial, a poorly made one. would you really have that many shots of the iphone if your making a video proposal? and why would anyone care about the other people? shouldnt it just be about the two getting married? totally fake and bad acting.

  76. 76

Please stop pushing the heterosexual agenda.

  77. 77

Fake! No guy would throw an engagement ring from a boat in the water up to a bridge. No fucking way. Her reaction was way to fake too.

  78. 78

    fake and fucking awful!

  79. 79

so unbelievably fake!!! first her bag is sitting on the ledge of the bridge in the beginning then when he comes from under the bridge to propose (2:15 mark) the bag is totally missing. so so fake and the acting is awful. so so bad!!!!!!!!

  80. LA22 says – reply to this

    could not be more fake…

  81. 81

super fake, super cheesy, super lame

  82. 82

Would you realloy toss a $6,000 ring up like that? What if it missed and went in the water. FAKE.

  83. 83

Wouldn't it look a bit suspicious with people filming the people who are filming if they were supposed to be undercover? And also, her purse disappears somewhere between 1:35 and 1:38 and it doesn't look like she's moved it herself. Obviously fake.

  84. 84

Obviously, we all agree it's fake. But I really can't believe that you think that's "The Best Marriage Proposal Ever," Perez. I've seen and heard of some pretty damn spectacular ones and…….that poorly acted Apple commercial ain't one of 'em.

  85. 85

UGH…just plain stupid and ot worth NOBODY'S time. Rolled my eyes. Seeing how appropriately dressed the "unexpected" girl was. What a joke. How could this EVER be the best marriage proposal ever?

  86. 86

i don't know if it's real or fake or whatever, but i recognize one of the women from this wedding show - it's one of those shows where they "help" the guy stage his "perfect proposal"….i can't remember what the show's called though, but they have clips on hulu, i've seen something like this before
