Whoa! 200 Students Cheat On College Midterm!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True

We were so surprised by this!

A college in Florida is reporting that over 200 of their business students cheated on a college midterm this past week! Though they didn't explain how so many students managed to cheat on the exam, the professor has come forward to announce an ultimatum for the cheaters.

It's disturbing to think that so many students are wasting their time and this professor's time on a education they obviously don't seem to value.

Check out the report (above) to learn more.

Perez please….We all know college is bullshit. The whole reason to go is to get a degree so you can get a good paying job. College is a factory like Ford. You go in you come out. Besides cheating is necessary at times. Many Professors are assholes and don't play by the rules that they made. So fuck them! You know why? I'd rather cheat then to pay another X thousand to take the course again…. Peace

  2. 2

That one student is such an idiot. I hope HE gets expelled. What makes him think that everybody cheats? I have a college degree, and I never once cheated on anything. I don't even cheat at Monopoly. A-hole

Here come the cheaters to defend these idiots' behavior. How dumb do you have to be to cheat on a fucking midterm? Lazy assholes. Instead of drinking and partying - why didn't you devote your time to study? Idiots.

And LOL @ the people saying or who will say that going to college is a waste of time … Nowadays a MASTER is required for many good jobs … imagine not even having a degree. Hope you're happy making the minimum wage your whole life.

  4. 4

I guess we should all just get NYU theatre degrees, that way you don't have to study, you just have to be a brat who wants to be famous.

  5. 5

Ok that kid who said that EVERYONE has cheated at least once and gets by in life through cheating, and to say that the professor is making a big deal out of nothing is the one who deserves to be expelled!! What a disgusting lack of character and morals. Maybe he has skirted by in college or with appeasing parents but out in the real world he most certainly would be held accountable for his actions. Shame on him. I never once cheated in college, or in life for that matter.

  6. 6

Professors please stop crying about it. We pay your mortgages and put up with your bullshit. Besides you set the expectation bars to high levels for us to get into college. You expect excellence from us even though 'YOU' yourself cannot reach that level. So in short, if you want 'excellence' in order to get better grants and better pay for your University. Then shut the fuck up and let us do what we need to do to "play the perfect game." Again, you and your University set the standards….NOT US! And we want to get PAID lots of money after the 4 to 5 years of bullshit!

  7. 7

    so NOT suprising

  8. 8

This is at my school with a bunch of dumbass probably freshman and probably an easy class. I heard about this right before I had to take my Art History test and the Teacher told us they knew something was up cause the kids all had the same number grade! Are you kidding me? if you are going to cheat…be smart about it

  9. 9

i mean, they do go to school in florida

  10. 10

college test are hard. expecially when you have 2-3 exams maybe a mid term and the Final Exams..ugh.. FML… Its not like HS where you have 20 test and if you flunk one you can still make an A…

so have I cheated? duh!! but I only do it to check my work ahha not actually to look at someone for the answer.

  11. 11

Study all over again for the retake of this MIDTERM as we speak! Got word that this coverage made it to the site, can't believe how big this has gotten outta hand, its kinda funny that he was so oblivious to students cheating, i've been in school for 4 years now and throughout my years in almost every class have heard of people with the exam prior to the test! Students are allot more intelligent than you think, and people are always trying to beat the system. The only reason he found out anyways was because someone anonymously put the test answers on his desk! If that would have never happened, life would still be going on and kids would still be doing what there doing! Its even more funny the people who point the finger at the unethical ones. :)

  12. 12

Cheating will get you quite far in the business world as well as politics. Just look at the money the people in Wall Street and the banks have made over the last few years.

  13. 13

Omg that guy pis*ed me off right now. I am fuming. "Everyone cheats" ? you motherf$%#r, deserve nothing but a punch in the mouth and to never be a part of any business. And even more importantly, cut his balls off PRONTO, such people must not have children because then we will never fix the world. F*cking as*hole, people like that, without a sense of morality, ethics and compassion are the reason for all the sh*t in the world.

  14. 14

I never cheated on an exam never even thought to cheat. I cheated in high school, but thats just high school and the teachers didnt care. I PAY fo college and i'll be damn if i risk not graduating by cheating.

Re: Bud_Fox – I went to a few very expensive schools and I wouldn't call it bullshit. I would call it bullshit if a classmate didi not turn in their own illectualy property! I worked my ass of my degrees and to be a Master of something…Bud Fox, you can't cheapen that.

  16. 16

This is disgusting! I can't believe people cheat when you're paying so much to get a good education.

I did it it all without cheating, ofcourse it's hard when you have multiple exams and 20 pages essays all do within a few days but that's part of the process.

It's scary to think how many dumb people we have floating around with decent paying jobs:( Where are peoples morals!?

  17. 17

Ok this is to all the people with business degrees, to everyone involved in business, the only thing bad about this situation is that they got caught. Everyone knows you use whatever advantage you can. The mere principal of business is to be the best whether its creative, sales, or whatever. I'm not saying cheating is good or saying anyone should if they can get away with it, I'm saying that the kid at the end of the video is so right in his statement, EVERYONE cheats, it may not be a test or something as visible as you think but somewhere in your life you pull a punch or two in order to get to your goal faster. In this case there trying to do what a lot of us or were at that age, trying to get the hell out of school.

  18. 18

I'm in college and I don't know a single person that cheats. All the time poeple put into their cheating methods probably would be better spent STUDYING!

  19. 19

Re: Dxxx – I wasn't directing it towards you. I was just saying college is bullshit…im not saying people who attended are bullshit.

I mean lets face it, I had classes with over 100s of people in them. Professor with a mic clipped to his shirt. He doesn't know our names we don't know his. We just take the midterms pass and move on. Not really learning anything. The point is to just play the game…And even though I know I don't know shit… I'm QUALIFIED because I have a college degree…haha Isn't it beautiful how it works in America! I love it!!! :)

  20. 20

…Yea, college gets tough…but not that tough. I have a "difficult" major but I made it through without even thinking about cheating

  21. 21

Re: andyb33 – Well done Andy…well done. That's why its useful to join Fraternities…they have test banks already :) Even the ones that are prestige.

  22. 22

As a university or college student, you are _not_ entitled to the degree, or even a passing grade, unless you work for it and contribute to scholarship in general with your work. While many schools continue to fight the good fight to ensure that academic integrity remain paramount, many more have lapsed into nothing more than degree mills which cheapen the value of a university education and make the $100K spent a goddamned waste of money.

I hate to say this, but the time has come for a very large number of universities to die. The sheer number of universities and colleges in North America is solely the result of the sheer number of veterans coming home with an education in ethics and morals and self-knowledge the likes of us will never imagine. Now that that time has clearly passed, and the numbers of young people who treat college as a four-year bender increase, perhaps a massive thinning of the herd is necessary.

  23. 23

    This is celebrity news?

  24. 24

I don't get how he can know for sure who cheated by "using statistics." Does that just mean he assumed anyone who scored significantly higher than usual cheated?

  25. 25

EVERYONE CHEATS, IF YOU DONT CHEAT YOU WILL BE A LOSER AT LIFE AND AN IDIOT. I APPLAUD THE STUDENT WHO WERE SMART ENOUGH TO CHEAT IN ORDER TO GET GOOD GRADES AND GET A BETTER JOB, GET INTO GRAD SCHOOL ETC…

  26. 26

this is not a surprise. i attended two very different universities for my bachelor and master degrees, but the business students at both of those schools were BY FAR the laziest, immoral students there.

  27. 27

    Dear perez,
I understand that you are disturbed by the fact that all these people cheated but heyy you are kinda of the problem!!! As a UCF student i spend 90% of my time on your website which leaves me no time to really study!
    xoxo Zlam

    28

    "Everybody cheats"

    WTF?
I managed to get my Masters degree, while trying to make enough money to pay for my mortgage (which I did) and I NEVER cheated, or steal!!

  29. 29

    Dear Perez-
I understand that you may be disturbed by this whole situation but in a way you helped towards the cheating. As a ucf student i spent 90% of my time on your website when i really should be studying.
    xoxo Zlamies

  30. 30

Of COURSE it's business where the cheaters are.
Ravvin, your free ride is up! I hope your parents come down and spank you in the common room, then you get your paper hat to actually work for your next degree in another country, because any college letting you continue is shooting themselves in the foot. What a loser!

  31. 31

Bud_Fox…..you may have a degree, but your an idiot. Cheating is NOT necessary. Either you know the material or you don't. And if the Professor is an asshole, no doubt because of idiot students like yourself, who don't/didn't listen or follow directions. After 20 years of teaching morons like you, I am sure he/she turned into a MAJOR asshole. Don't worry, sweet revenge is on its way. Someday, some 20 something is gonna think they know more than you and can do the job better. Screw you old man! 20 years experience (and education), so what! Why should I respect you old man? I promise you Bud_Fox, what goes around comes around. It will happen to you, and when it does, think about your asshole professor.

  32. 32

That reminds me, from where did you rip off this video? You site is full of copied stories and stolen videos from other sites, you're the Queen of All Cheaters.

  33. 33

For those of you not familiar with the case, we have to take a retake in hopes that those who got a A on the first test will suffer in their score without the answers on the second test and that will seperate the cheaters, thats their hopes anyways….BUT can we get to the real PROBLEM HERE: The reason the students were able to cheat is because this guy is issuing test that have been used for years, its no wonder why kids got their hands on it. Perhaps making his own tests and not just reading the book for his lecture videos and buying the test from the publishers was his mistake. If i wanted to learn that way, i'd just buy the book.

  34. 34

Re: MarioMonjack – cheat to get into grad school? then, what? cheat some more? what good is cheating doing for them? all it does is put you on the fast track to "would you like some fries with that". if you cheat your way through undergrad and you manage to get a good enough score on the GRE/GMAT/etc. to get into grad school, you'll only have a harder time in graduate school.

  35. 35

Re: Bud_Fox – that is lazy nonsense. if you don't want to pay for an education, then go work at McDonalds for the rest of your life. Some professors are jerks, but they did the work to get where they are and it only makes sense for them to expect you to do the work too. How do you expect to get by in the workforce. I hate to break it to you, but a lot of bosses are jerks too. Are you going to cheat there too–claim some coworker's work for your own because you shouldn't be expected to do actual work for a jerk?

  36. 36

i wonder if this was a bout of senioritis, since they're all supposed to be graduating next month or if they have been cheating all along without getting caught.

  37. 37

His whole statistics method of finding out who cheated is bullshit. Some student that studied their ass off and naturally got a great mark is gonna be screwed now.

  38. 38

It's a business class, aka the most worthless major ever…enough said and not surprising.

  39. 39

What a bunch of idiots! Cheaters never win! If they didn't get caught on this test they would have for something else later in life, it's not like you stop cheating after one time. This is why the US sucks so hard, being run by a bunch of liars, cheaters and theives. Look at where the majority of your population is sitting right now because of cheaters.

  40. 40

I go to UCF and am a business student!! Instead of getting on the kids for cheating why arent we asking why the teacher was soooooo lazy that he hasn't changed the test banks in years!!!! this class has been around for over 10 years and the test bank (data warehouse where they pull the questions out of automatically) has been changed maybe once.. So congrats you picked out the lazy teacher at UCF and decide to bring down the students who found a competitive advantage in the system ( which we are taught to do). We take tests in an atmosphere that is jail! cameras everywhere in the ceiling cameras in your computer and test proctors everywhere if you are caught talking you are sent out with a 0. SO INSTEAD OF POINTING THE FINGER AT THESE STUDENTS AND THIS UNIVERSITY WHAT ABOUT THE SCHOOLS THAT STILL USE TRADITIONAL TESTING SYSTEMS WITH SCANTRONS WITH 800 KIDS CRAMMED IN AN AUDITORIUM (**THEY AREN'T CHEATING ARE THEY LMMFAO**)

  41. 41

So sick of hearing about how bad the business students at UCF are….. why isnt anyone asking how often this guy changes his test bank or oh wait a second maybe how that teacher didnt safe guard his test anyhow… i mean that option shouldnt have been out there and because it was these kids took advantage of it what they teach us anyhow LMMFAO!!

  42. 42

    "Everybody cheats."

I'd argue that it depends on how strict your definition of cheating is. If a friend who took the class last semester tells you what the professor looks for in an answer, is that cheating? You now have knowledge about an exam that is not realistically available to the class as a whole. Taking it up a level, what about studying from old tests? Some professors give them to their students, some do no but change their tests from year to year, some don't change anything but the date at the top.

Everybody cheats isn't an absurd statement; the belief behind it is valid, given the broadest definition of cheating. Whether you think you've cheated depends on where you draw your boundaries for the definition. And in that vein, whether your Uni thinks you've cheated depends on how strictly they draw theirs.

Given that 1/3 of the class 'cheated', my guess is that someone got their hands on an old copy of the test, and the professor didn't bother changing his exam from year to year. It DOES happen. Often and everywhere. And it's frustrating as hell when it throws the curve. With grad school (and undergrad) so freaking competitive, sometimes you're faced with a choice between studying your ass off for a mediocre grade or bending your ethics to level the playing field. It's a bit less black and white when you think about it that way - harder to definitively blame the students. But it still sucks.

  43. 43

this is bullshit, he can NOT PROVE who cheated.

  44. 44

    Disgusting!
    What is America coming to????
We are witnessing the decline of the U.S.A!
    30% of the class CHEATED!
This is the future of America????

  45. 45

Yea you go to college to get a degree so that you can get a job. But college teaches you so that you know WHAT THE F*@# YOU ARE DOING for that job. It still amazes me that people pay thousands of dollars to go to college but they don't even try… and then they have the nerve to b@!*" about college being so expensive. Save yourself the money and drop out if you don't give a sh!t. I have never once cheated on a test in college. I actually like to earn my grades

  46. 46

Also they are complaining about a test which was found in the INSTRUCTORS' EDITION!!! The professor didnt even make his own test up!!!! so who should we be mad at the students who used another's "study guide" or a teacher too lazy to write a test?

  47. 47

woohoo my school made it on Perez..

  48. 48

Re: UCFBUS – dude, there is a reason why there are cameras watching you when you take tests. someone must have known there was a cheating problem at your school and decided that the best way to combat it would be to record exams. obviously, it isn't working.

  49. 49

man that sucks. to have done it by studying their butts off and a bit of luck, and now having to retake the exam :\…. I'll admit, i've seen and have done some cheating in grade school because sometimes, i swear some things that teachers make us do were a joke and not worth the time. BUT NEVER have I intentionally cheated in College. College and above is what you pay for and you don't want anyone effing up the system. Like those curved classes, I don't wanna have my grade pushed down because of some cheater. Had that happen many times in class. There was one time when the teacher said he knew because those idiots left the stack of answers and textbook in the guys' bathroom. Do the right thing, it's not worth cheating because in the end it's for you and how you feel at the end of the day on your own self worth. i feel AMAZING for earning my degree with hard work. I felt proud to help friends who were about to cheat, and hopefully they didn't. I take responsibility when i know that i shouldn't have gotten that D. Work harder! so far college has been tougher on the material than professional school. But I know that will change soon as the years roll on O.O'
