And Portia De Rossi would consider being one of the partners!

There's a lot of talk of adding a same-sex dancing couple on Dancing With The Stars next year and buzz is that producers want Portia to be the celebrity. However, there is some skepticism on whether or not the show will actually go through it.

If one of the show's judges have her then they will! Carrie Ann Inaba told sources she thought it would be a great idea and supports the campaign to make it happen on the show. She explained:

"I would love it. I fully support that and I think America is ready for that. Our country is much more accepting of same sex couples and it would be great for the show to reflect that."

Then, this morning, Ryan Seacrest had Portia on his show to talk about her new book, but the conversation segwayed into DWTS and if she would want to do it. He assumed she would pass on the offer, but to his surprise, Portia said she'd be thrilled! She told Ryan:

"I'm not going to pass! Let me think about it. used to be a ballet dancer. It's not completely a pass. You never know!"

Wow! We know we'd love to see it happen!

It's in your hands now, ABC! What's it going to be?!

although im all for equal rights and everything, i do think a same sex couple just seems..lame. like to try hard. it's a dancing show which is about classics and traditions, why not stick to them. this isn't something thats an issue or discriminitive so there just seems no need to have this.

dancing doesn't have anything to do with sexual orientation - the idea is stupid. it looks retarded for two people of the same sex to ballroom dance………..or merengue or the waltz……….seriously………..

  3. 3

sounds like a severe case of carpet burn is in store

FIRE YOUR STAFF. your posts are far too short to continuously contain these numerous ridiculous spelling and grammatical errors. /grammar police

Why do you want to gay up everything? Sounds like a show for the new gay tv station……No one wants to see two guys tango……

It's not like gay people are being excluded and ballroom dancing, so I don't understand why this matters. To me it will just look awkward… and I mean, you don't have to be attracted to your partner. I mean same-sex couples would completely change the dynamics of the dance and I don't think it would be for the better.

There is no discrimination here, so just leave it alone.

I am not a big fan of Portia so unless her dancing was absolutely wonderful I doubt I would be super excited. I really like Cheryl Burke. I wonder if it Edita or however you spell her name will come back. She was always half dressed, even compared to the rest of them, and was my least favorite dancer. I hope it isn't her. I was happy she wasn't on this time.

    tooooooo much.

I get it but why does she have to dance with a women, just because she is gay.. so a gay women can dance with a man.. then how come all those gay men dance with women.. that is discrimation!! :-P

  10. 10

Just because she is gay, that means she has to dance with a women?.?.? All those gay men dance with women.. I dont get it.. now that seem like discrimination :-P

I really hope they don't. It would be an ultimate fail, it would look stupid, and its against tradition. It would change the dynamics of the dance and not for the better. Its a HORRIBLE idea. When you posted the video of the two women in Israel, it looked really bad, unnatural, and awkward. PLEASE PLEASE don't ever make it TWO MEN! UGH! That's worst. I'd rather see two women which is still bad.

    Two things:
    1. As a gay male, I don't see a same sex couple as something that would be groundbreaking. We're talking about ballroom dancing and the traditions that lie therein. Okay, I understand that there are same-sex couples who like to ballroom dance, but Dancing With the Stars is about technique and tradition. Ballroom dance is traditionally about gender-roles and the stories that the dancers tell with their bodies. If you throw two women or two men on the dancefloor, you're destroying the tradition of ballroom. My argument has nothing to do with equal rights.
    2. The word is "segue", not "segway". Come on, don't use big words if you can't spell them or use them correctly.

I'd like to see Carrie Ann and Max dance! All that anger they have toward each other should work in a hot dance.

  14. 14

yes!! this has to happen. with portia.

  15. 15

Of course, it's two women to turn on the limited male audience. Why not two guys?

  16. 16

GAH. Are you saying no gay people have been on the show? Shakes head…clicks to a different story.

Re: elfslayer – me too.. i think media try too hard… it's kinda funny how gay people are also a minority like asians, blacks, mexicans.. but they get more representation on TV.. hmm
