Will The Three Stooges Movie Ever Happen?

jim carrey says that three stooges movie is dead

The Three Stooges movie has been a long time coming, but much like the long-anticipated Dune movie, it looks like this is probably not going to happen…or at least not anytime soon.

Here's what on-again, off-again potential Curly actor Jim Carrey had to say about the project:

"I think it's dead. It's dead at least to me."

More from Carrey:

"There wasn't any creative difficulties that led to this exit, but rather the weight gain for the role. For me, I don't really want to do anything halfway, and I don't feel like a fat suit does it. I started experimenting with it a little bit, and I gained 35, 40 pounds. I wanted to gain another 30, 40. When you're [Robert] De Niro in your 20s or early 30s, you can kind of come back from that. It's a tough thing to come back from when you're upwards of 30. Your body can't carry it or you can have a cardiac arrest."

Other cast members that have been attached to the project include Benicio Del Toro as Moe, Sean Penn as Larry, then Paul Giamatti as a replacement Larry.

Who knows which of these actors are still interested in doing the project. Unfortunately, Jim Carrey's exit doesn't strike us as a great sign!

Do U still want the Three Stooges movie to happen? If so, who do U think should take over the role of Curly?

Michael C. who plays the dad on no ordinary family! He would be perfect. No, can't spell his last name.

The movie is a great idea and Danny Devito is perfect for the part… But his voice not so much.

Re: Paris France – A few years back, he played Curley on a TV movie produced by Mel Gibson who is a big Three Stooges fan. Chiklis was a lot heavier then. I agree with Carey, they need younger actors. With the right actors, it can be as funny as The Hangover.
