What Is John McCain Going To Say About THIS?!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikInspirationDenise RichardsJohn McCainDr. DrewKat Von DLGBT

What a powerful message!

Check out the latest, star-studded video from the NOH8 campaign, featuring (to name a few) Denise Richards, Dr. Drew, Bridget Marquardt, Kat Von D, Slash, Gene Simmons, and surprisingly, Cindy McCain!

They really hit the nail on the head with this one! We couldn't have said it better ourselves!

But we can't help but wonder what John McCain has to say about this, Cindy!

It's hard to stand up for equal rights when your husband one of the biggest defenders of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell!'

We appreciate your support, though!

    Excellent video. Thanks for posting!

  2. 2

Please clarify what you are saying, Perez. Are you saying it's nice but really she should just shut up and stay behind her husband?

  3. 3

Just because you are married does not mean you have the same beliefs. I'm sure he respects her as she does his.

  4. 4

OMG….specially that cindy mccain did the parts on political figures and religious leaders….that had to be on purpose…besides that…i just want to say thats cool that adults are saying their listening..

  5. 5

If you really think about it, Don't Ask, Don't Tell SHOULD stay around because it defends gays from some harsh anti-gay people in the military. Some, not all, or course, members of our armed forces are very conservative, very Souther, and very religious, meaning in you're gay and in the forces with them, they'll give one hard time. You're better off keeping it secret for your protection if it's not required to be asked or told. Think about if it were told or asked and the hell gay members would face? It would divide our nation through our armed forces, which you never want. The armed forces need to stay together and stay strong.

GO CINDY GO! Your bravery touches us. No H8!

John is fully aware, and fully supports his wife's views. he knows they are different than his, and he is OK with that. You know, like people are SUPPOSED to be. Tolerant of opposing views from their own, You know Perez?? … like you are NOT.

  8. 8

O please….. the wives aways pull this stunt to temper the hate aginst their homophobe husband's agenda…nothing new here!!!!

  9. 9

    very inspiring and nice!
may i say Dr. Drew looks
    super hot! hahaha

  10. 10

Cindy looks great with her hair short

  11. 11

What…women can't have their own opinions? Women need to agree with everthing their husbands/lovers/boyfriends believe. Get real!!

  12. 12

Please stop chanting, "equal rights for all", until you understand what that truly means.

  13. 13

Keep DADT intact. You idiots don't realize it will cause legal problems down the road. It can and probably will be exploited by gays to get out of the military early, etc. Why do gays need this lifted? Do they need special treatment and recognition? Sounds like it to me, You don't have heterosexuals going around announcing they like cootchi. So why does a gay person feel the need to announce hes gay? They want attention. All girls are attention whores..Gay guys have the mindset of girls..There you go.

  14. 14

Hmmm I really respect that my husband and I can have different views and love and support each other. We surely dont always agree with each other on everything but we have been together for 26 years and can still agree to disagree on things. Im my own person and so is he so what are you getting at?????? She is passionate about her belief and he is passionate about his belief…………………to get equal rights will take equal respect on all sides not just what suits you.

Perez, you sincerely and I say this with not trying to be mean, need to think about what you write sometimes. Sometimes a good writer reflects on the proper words, especially when they can not be taken back. You just said something that sounds out of the 50's and completely disrespectful to women, especially women in relationships. It is ok to have a different opinion then a significant other, and she is not her property to warrant permission on what he thinks. Look at this way, give them both credit for acknowledging it, and give her even more credit for the strength it takes to publicly stand up for what she believes in though it goes against what he believes in.

  16. 16

The typographical and grammatical errors on this blog are puzzling. Do you have a fifth grader write your crap?

  17. 17

What the hell are you talking about perez.. it's is not hard for HER to stand up to equal rights if that's what she believes in.. what her husband supports is just that her husband.. doesn't mean she has to agree.. the world can't always work in your favor and not all people will agree.. you need to be more accepting if you want others to be

  18. 18

Re: jerseygirl415 – that's what i was thinking too.. and i'm a supporter of gays i have so many in my family.. but i don't think they realize what they're getting in to and i don't have any idea why because their has been so many stories of gays getting brutily beat and sometimes to death for being gay.. i think it's safer to keep quite..

  19. 19

John supports the fact that Cindy and Megan both have brains of thier own and are quite capable of coming up with their own thoughts. I think you could have worded this a little better without so much underminded contempt in it.

  20. 20

It's unimaginable how stubborn John McCain is if even his wife can't drill into him that he's gays should be treated equal. Good on her to do this X

  21. 21

Re: jennycakes – When you think gays should stay out of the military because people already in the military are conservative and would give them a hard time, then you are condoning and supporting the actions of the tormentors and bigots. With this reasoning do you think that LGBT youth shouldn't be allowed to go to school anymore because they're being bullied there??? Think about what you're saying here. Instead of creating restrictive laws based on what you think LGBT people SHOULD want, why don't we give them the freedom this country promises us to make their own decision about whether or not to join the military

  22. 22

Good for Her! (cindy McC.) I see a divorce in the future though. (hee hee)

(she looks great by the way… I thought so scary looking during the campaign).

  23. 23

Re: jerseygirl415 – The other part to DADT that you're leaving out is that it "bars those who are openly gay, lesbian or bisexual from military service." Do you really think that THAT is keeping our military strong and together??

WARNING!This is not a joke! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning! Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the staff in the hospital so the government decided that the best idea was to get rid of her so they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she finally died. Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on a monday night at 12:00a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pics on this one site, and she will haunt someone else who doesn't pass this on like you did. And forget about you. Example 1:Jenny didn't believe this and deleted it without even reading the whole thing! A few days later on the monday night, she was woken up by loud footsteps and heavy breathing, there was Clarissa

Just because you dont agree with dont ask dont tell doesnt mean your anti gay you fools. We are in the midst of a recession if you allow openly gay men and women in the military you have to come up with a whole new set of rules, all new barracks seperate bathrooms. For the marine corp at least men and women do not attend bootcamp together nor share bathrooms. We are in the middle of a war we need our heads focused on that not on dont ask dont tell. We dont need people joining the military to prove a point right now we need people who believe in the fight and are there for the right reason. There are so many points to be made on why Dont ask dont tell should stay in place that has nothing to do with being homophobic. I have many friends that got out and i later found out they where gay, their still friends still brothers

    Re: sourdoggie
    Are you fucking serious..?!
I've seen you post this shit on several articles.

Personally, if I ever do see this 'Clarrissa'..I'll tell her to slit your throat open in your sleep and then shit down it for the guilt trip crap you've posted..

  27. 27

Your an idiot, do you not even know why the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy is in place??? As for his wife, big freaking whoop, when your married your still allowed to have your own beliefs regardless of whether you have a clue or not about them.

  28. 28

Re: KayTrom – But they can make their own decisions, this law only protects them form violence. They can be in the military, gay nor not, but their sexuality is kept secret for their safety.

  29. 29

Re: MeL87v – Again, it's so they can be protected. If they keep quiet about their sexuality, like heterosexuals do -hey, I don't go around screaming that I love men, like all heteros I know don't, as well - then all will be fine. Why do they need to tell about their sexuality? There is no purpose for doing so, especially in the military. It's not necessary information.

  30. 30

Re: jerseygirl415 – DADT doesn't protect anyone from anything. Abuse and harassment towards gays goes on all the time in the military, it won't start all of a sudden the day DADT is repealed. The problem with DADT is that it makes gays afraid to report the instances of abuse because it could potentially lead to others questioning their sexuality. With repeal, anyone could report harassment without the fear of being discharged. The military already has policies in order to deal with sexual harassment, whether it is perpetrated towards gay or straight members, makes not difference.

Also, I think you should show more respect for our troops and give them the credit they deserve. In the military I'm sure they are asked to do plenty of stuff they might not like or even think it's wrong. Our military faithfully serves our country and follow orders despite their feelings and personal opinions. You must think very lowly of our troops if you think they will start harassing gays just because they don't like them. They will follow orders because that's what soldiers do. If they can't follow orders, then they would be a bigger problem in the military than gays.

  31. 31

Re: jerseygirl415 – you may not flaunt your sexually, but you don't have to fear being discharged simply for using a pronoun to describe your significant other. Your significant other can come to social functions, balls, pinning ceremonies, etc. If you're killed while on duty, your significant other will be notified. In an institution that values honesty and integrity, you don't have to lie, every single day of your life, about an important part of your identity.

  32. 32

Re: KayTrom – Excuse me, our opinions may differ on DADT but please don't accuse me of not having respect for out troops. I have such a respect and appreciation for what they do I can't even describe it. I can't imagine going through what they go through and I am so grateful for everything they do. But it is a fact that most military members are southern conservatives who are very religious. I made a point to say that of course not all military members are homophobes and only a select few will care about gays enough to bully them, but it does happen and will more if gays must tell that they are gay. Of course not all southern conservatives are anti-gay, but the ones who are are the ones who matter in this debate.
