Mulligan could work as Daisy, Scarlett would be better cast as either Jordan Baker or Myrtle Wilson - she's a more sensuous, worldly type who could play either an ice princess or a moll.

please read this wonderful piece of literature before you judge casting decisions. daisy is not boyish at all, and while carey is a good actress, she is not the best choice for this role, i feel.

You need to pick up and read these books (being turned into movies) before you post about them. First "Water For Elephants" being a "period piece" which is actually a reflection of traveling circus life in the 1920's, not some Victorian Age, Elizabethan thing– and now Daisy being "boyish" in The Great Gatsby? It's such a wonderful book, and one of the big appeals of Daisy is that she's supposed to be beautiful and feminine. Get your facts straight and READ!

Daisy, as written, is stunningly beautiful. Mulligan and Scarlett Johansen are not. (Scar-Jo alway makes me think of that song, "I'm a little tea-pot, short and stout…") There are tens of thousands of unknown, fantastic actresses to fit the bill. I suggest they go with an unknown. And isn't DiCaprio getting a little long in the tooth to play Gatsby? How about some fresh faces? I mean, that total Twilight thing bombed with two unknowns…right?

What is the obsession with Leo D? Hugh Dancy would have been a better choice. Carey or Kiera sound fine too but this leo thing. If it's not Matt Damon it's Leo. Maybe Perez should go for it. How about achange in these male roles for once?

I think what he meant is that the flapper look was sort of a boy-ish look…which was the popular look of the day. I think that Carey would do a good job. She's a terrific actress. I think that Blake Lively would be good too, but for her looks, not for her acting. However, I agree with some of points made already, Leo is too 'fleshy'…I laughed my ass of when I read that. But they should probably look for a fresh face, someone new that looks the part and can act….then we'd only have the story line to look forward to.

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
