Corey Feldman Talks About A Goonies Sequel

Hmm, we don't think this is a good idea…

However, stars of the 1985 cult movie The Goonies, including Corey Feldman, who played Mouth, says that he along with his co-star Sean Astin, writer Steven Spielberg, and director Richard Donner want to reunite for a sequel.

Feldman says:

"I would do it if [the studio] was serious, but unfortunately they can't seem to get it together. We all like to see it happen, but it's one of those stumbling blocks where no matter how much love there is … The No. 1 question that’s always been asked of me for the last 20 years is, 'Will there be a sequel to Goonies?,' and unfortunately my answer is always the same. It’s not up to me, you know, it's the studio.

They treasure this film, as you know. It is literally their greatest family film title of all time. That's the way they see it. It's always on the top 25, all DVD sales around the world all the time. If we go and throw a sequel out there that's lesser [in quality,] then suddenly we may hurt this continuous cash cow."

We still can't picture that anyone would be willing to shell out their dough to see a middle-aged Chunk, but to each their own.

And if the movie is such a money maker, wouldn't the studio be on board?? Maybe they agree that they should just let a classic remain a classic.

Yea Right! Steven Spielberg IS NOT going to put that drug addicted freakish losing fame whore Corey Feldman in ANY MOVIE! There's not an insurance company in Hell that would touch that mess of a human!

If there is a part 2, outside of a very brief cameo, what are the chances of Feldman actually being part of the sequel's storyline? I'd say it's somewhere between zero and none.

hope they dont do a sequel. dont ruin the goonies i love that movie

    what a goon

Chunk is no longer a chunk. He is now slinder, without hair. Saw them at the 25th annivversary of Goonies in Astoria (where the film was shot).

My mom use to rent it for me everytime I stayed home sick from school. Definitely a classic, a sequel would just water it down.

  8. 8

I would TOTALLY pay to see Goonies 2 and I'm sure a lot of others would as well!

NO. YOU RUIN IT. YOU WILL CAST STUPID AND RANDOM CELEBRITY CAMEO'S LIKE JUSTIN BIEBER OR A WASHED UP BASEBALL PLAYER/WRESTLER AND RUIN IT.

    That is all.

What a great movie - one of my all time favorites. Don't know that I'd be interested in a Goonies 2 with the main characters all grown up…..

GREATEST MOVIE of ALL time! I would pay to see a sequel and not just matinee prices!

uhmmmmm Josh Brolin is over 40 and Martha Plimton has not held up well, Chunk is no longer chunky and Sean Astin is….and no one seems to know what happened to Data.. Leave this EPIC movie alone. Hey Feldman How about a Critter's instead there must be some life left in that franchise

Thank gawd it's not up to Feldman. He'd ruin a great film. Don't touch the Goonies.

The Goonies is an ultimate feelgood classic, Feldman should be slapped in the face for even trying to mess with it. No matter who they'd hire, it would NEVER capture the innocence of 80's that the movie had. Oh and ofcourse Feldman would wanna star in it too huh? I'm sorry to say that his acting was too much when he was a kid, i certainly don't want to see him do it all over again.

it's a terrible idea.. don't fuck with a classic.. just leave it alone..
