Jessica Simpson Doesn't Want A Pre-Nup!
We find this very hard to believe! Where's Papa Joe Simpson when you need him???
In case you missed it, Jessica Simpson announced that she had her BF Eric Johnson are getting married over the weekend.
Now, it may seem kind of ironic that this news came about only days after her ex-husband, Nick Lachey announced he was getting married too, but that's not nearly as questionable as the news we're getting this morning that Jess doesn't think she needs a prenup!
Apparently, she has all but forgotten when Nick walked away with $10 million dollars of HER hard earned money with they divorced!
Sources are claiming that the "romance" of their situation has gone to Jessica's head and that she doesn't think her $100 million empire is in danger from the possible grubby hands of her handsome footballer. Someone who is very concerned about this? Us! Her father/manager, Joe Simpson! A family friend reveals:
"At the moment, Joe is sitting back and being a great father, supporting his daughter and his future son-in-law. However, you can bet after all the excitement has died down, Joe is going to do everything in his power to make sure Jessica doesn't walk down the aisle until Eric signs away any right he might have to Jessica's enormous fortune."
We think that's a good idea! What could she be thinking?! Doesn't she have any of those lingering trust issues left?! They'd serve her well right now!

I don’t get the whole “NICK walked away with $10 million of HER hard earned money” when any money they made, they made together as a married couple, starting with what they earned from their very successful show Newlyweds. If it were not for the show that Nick and Jessica did TOGETHER, would Jessica have amassed the fortune that she did? I think its fair to say that Nick walked away with what was due to him. It is very telling that Jessica has not had anywhere near the success she had when she was with Nick. Every single project she had done thus far without him has bombed. Every movie, every cd, every reality show. So please stop acting like Nick is just some money grubbing snake. He’s a good guy and he deserved every penny he walked away with and Jessica was a fool for letting go of a man that loved her for her.
She became famous as Nick's wife; HE lifted HER out of obscurity.

Most of Jessica's assets are in a Trust; he can't touch them; anything over a million dollars gets taxed BIG-TIME by the Fed & State if you die…

Nick was the more famous one and the one making more money when they got married. He was also a part of why they Newlywed Show was as popular as it was. He more then deserved to get 10 million dollars from their marriage. He earned at least that and was worth more then that from 98 Degrees when he entered the marriage. Your stupid to think otherwise. Jessica was playing fairgrounds and making a paltry living as a third-rate singer before Nick Lachey did an duet with her, married her and helped sell their reality show. "Newlyweds" was the only reason she came into money and fame — and Nick was half of that show. He deserved every penny of that 6 mill if not more. Notice, how Jessica's career crashed and burned except for the clothing line. This clothing line is based on image anyway…an image that was created by her image on Newlyweds. The financials for this company are probably overinflated anyway. I would be surprised if there were some tax evasion and creative accounting going on in her company — plus the brand is completely low-rent and tacky — should be sold a Walmart rather than Macy's.

A pre-nup is an absolute MUST when one parties assests dramatically exceed those of the other party. Jessica is worth $100 million with her successful fashion line. The guy maybe makes 100k a year in NFL residuals. marriage is partly a business decision and I certainly had to sign one before I got married or hubby said - no wedding. 21 years later, no divorce. prenups are necessary in her her case. In this case, I fully support the pre-nup, because there is no way this is working out- if it even makes it to the altar. I think she's pulling an Ashlee & Pete, but at least they were together longer than 15 minutes and Pete wasn't legally married.
