Hey look! The system works! Fantastic!
We bet that Michael Douglas is feeling in tip-top shape today, as his lawyer phoned him this morning to let him know that his ex-wife's case to dip into his Wall Street sequel paycheck has just been dismissed.
Michael's ex, Diandra Douglas, claimed that she was entitled to the money as per their divorce agreement, but the judge in Manhattan told her that she'd pick the wrong venue for this kind of complaint (meaning it should be brought up in California) and dismissed the case completely. Michael's lawyer told the press that his client was "thrilled" by the news when she phone him and added that he "sounded great" when they spoke.
But the war may not be over. Diandra can take a things a step forward and appeal the dismissal or bring the case up in California.
Seems like a lot of effort and a lot of anguish to put a poor, sick man through, but it seems like some people will do just about anything for money. Shame!
Hope this brightened your spirits a bit, Michael! You've still got our best wishes for a speedy recovery!
