War At The Bookstore!

It's the battle of the ultimate celebrity memoir!

This week, Portia De Rossi goes head-to-head with her new book against Ricky Martin's autobiography and rocker Keith Richard's page turner.

So far, Keith is in the lead on the NY Times Bestseller list, topping off at #1 for the second week. Portia is right on his heels, debuting at the #3 spot, while Ricky drags behind at the #5.

All of them seem worth the read, but there can only one ultimate bestseller.

Which book are U more interested in picking up?

Ricky all that way…love that yummy Puerto Rican papi! :)

    2. 2

What about "They call me Bababooey"

      Oh, first!

    3. 3

You know what's weird? When Portia DeRossi was on Ally Mcbeal, everyone was so worried about Calista Flockhart being scary skinny that they failed to notice Portia's serious case of anorexia.

    4. 4

Personally I won't be buying a book lol BUT if I did I'd buy Portia and Ricky's book :-)

    5. 5

I personally am not interested in reading ANY of them. God knows none of these people wrote their own books anyway, I'm tired of celebs "writing" books.

2 actually Ricky Martin because he has been on a journey and most of us was with him. Keith Richards because all about the rock and roll. There is room for everyone.

    8. 8

KEITH RICHARDS. DUH! He has had the longest life and the most experiences. There would be no hesitation if I had to choose between the three.

Definitely the Keith Richards memoir! This living legend has been destroying his body with drugs for decades and has recently survived a fall from a coconut tree. (What was he doing up there???) How in the world…what is this guy made off???

I just finished reading Portia's book about 10 minutes ago. I'm not really sure why I wanted to read it as I have never been a follower of her's (but I do love Ellen) and I'm really glad I read it. Of course there's a distinct possibility that she didn't actually write it, but I feel like she had a big part in writing it & I really enjoyed it. Pretty eye-opening.

I can't wait to read They Call Me Baba Booey!

    13. 13

work at a bookstore, and have heard really positive feedback about portia's book, and have sold more copies. I've yet to have anyone ask me about Ricky's.

    14. 14

"They Call Me Baba Booey" is the best book of the bunch!!!

    15. 15

I'm reading Keith Richard's book now. So far I really like it. My stepfather finished it a couple days ago and loved it.

    16. 16

Wish Ricky would have named it something other than me. Ever since he's come out he's so narsisictic and being all Tom Cruise about it. He's changed. I'm all for gay equality. I just just wish they wouldn't put it out there so much like a child. The tom on the couch day on Oprah came to mind when Ricky was on Ellen. Calm down, you're out. Enjoy.

    17. 17

Guess Portia wanted to plagiarise her book title along with her name… weak

    18. 18

Please don't forget the awesome biography/biopic by Rick Springfield-on both the LA Times & NY Times bestseller list this week! check it out–you will be surprised but not disappointed!

    19. 19

THEY CALL ME BABA BOOEY ALL THE WAY BABY

    20. 20

The only book that I bought was Justin Biebers book. Its a good read with gorgeous pictures and personal stories. I love it.

Definitely Keith!I am sick and tired from the gay memoirs!

    22. 22

If I had money I'd buy Portia's book.

    23. 23

O M G, Ricky is soooo laaaaaaame!!!!! "ME"???! Are you kidding?? So cheesy, I could die! Way to sell yourself out, Lance!…Ricky!

    24. 24

Keith has to be the most interesting because he has been a trainwreck forever. I'm curious about Portia. Ricky? Mmm mmm mmm. So what, he's gay. It's not like he'd be dating me even if he were straight, so I can look at that fine specimen all I want can't I? I'm not sure about the book, but I sure do like looking at him.

    25. 25

Keith Richards because Keith Richards IS rock and roll!!!

    26. 26

Keith Richards, his would obviously be the most interesting.

    27. 27

      Top 5 at a Glance
      1. LIFE, by Keith Richards with James Fox
      2. BROKE, by Glenn Beck and Kevin Balfe
      3. UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS, by Portia de Rossi
      4. EARTH (THE BOOK), by Jon Stewart and others
      5. ME, by Ricky Martin

How come no mention of #2? Beck will stay up there longer than the rest. and what is Earth about? is it THE JON STEWART?

    28. 28

The so-called Portia DeRossi has a career that peaked around 1997. And even then, she was a co-star.
Her book is selling because of her appearance on "Oprah." She's now known for being involved with an A-lister.
This particular Australian import doesn't impress me.

RICKY MARTIN all the way !!!

    30. 30

      Keith Richards!!!

    31. 31

For all you idiots, Portia actually wrote her book and it's really good. I finished it last week and it's going to help a lot of people, whereas Ricky and Springfield are simply aiming to get publicity. Check the back of her book people, it was blurbed by Jonathan Safran Foer. I don't think he randomly comments on celebrity books.

    32. 32

LOL. The real war is corporate manufactured 'books' versus real writing. Join the art and media revolution and see what literature can be - its more than a puffed up bio, or a generic novel with a high price tag! Readers, any feel like it's time for some changes in publishing?

    33. 33

Tried to see Ricky Martin at Extra taping in LA, he never showed up. Found out there was a book signing, but too late to get the wrist band to get book signed. Not meant to be.
Will probably buy the books by Ricky Martin and Portia DeRossi. Not Keith Richards, he is a great musician but does not strike me as very insightful.

    34. 34

If I had to pick one to read it would be the Keith Richards book. He seems to have led a more interesting life than the other two.

    35. 35

im going to buy Ricky's book

      THEY CALL ME BABA BOOEY!!!!!!!!!
