New Set Of Teen Moms Coming In January

Buh-bye, Amber & Farrah. A new generation of sperminated teens are emerging.

Because America is fascinated with this trend of watching children raise children, a new season of Teen Mom is slated to air in January, with all new, younger moms in the cast.

The show's executive producer Morgan J. Freeman confirms that Teen Mom 2 is filming right now, but wouldn't reveal the cast list until we get closer to the premiere date. She would say that the featured young mommies were selected from the current cast of 16 and Pregnant.

But what of Farrah Abraham and Amber Portwood and the other girls? Morgan revealed:

"We're doing some continuous-type shooting with the original [cast] but nothing's been announced yet about what we'll do with that."

A third series perhaps? Because lets face it - what else are these girls prepared to do with their lives other than continue in reality television?

P.S. - Are we all still in agreement that this is a sad commentary on what America is watching on TV?

Too bad. I guess the message to teen girls is that if you get pregnant you get all kinds of attention. TV shows, magazine covers, and don't forget Dancing With the Stars….

  2. 2

Sadder yet is the Bad Ho's Club which you hosted.

  3. 3

The show does not glamorize teen motherhood in any way. I think the intentions behind this show were benevolent.

  4. 4

Boooo!!! They should just stick with the old Moms! I don't see any reason to pick new ones..

Hey Perez, Morgan J. Freeman is a dude. A nice, talented dude. Just letting ya know he's not a she. :)

Look, the show really does not glamourize teen motherhood. I really think this show has the power to get through to kids just how difficult teen motherhood is in a way that is effective and quite honestly harrowing. Sociologically, it is fascinating. Please keep in mind that these 'moms' are kids themselves and slagging them off is helpful to no-one.

Morgan Freeman is a guy lol

MTV is becoming garbage. Jersy shore one thing, totally different than promoting teen preggars. I was 19 when I had my first child and would never dream of being so careless with my kid. They are promoting low self esteem children to raise a generation of mentally, verbally, physically abused children. This program does not bring awareness, but further abuse. So surprised more groups have not protested to ban the show. If this is the next generation we are / and those babies are in for more trouble than people realize. Who will they vote to run the country let alone who will run for candiacy. Parents who let their teens watch this >FAIL!!!!

NO Perez! WE are NOT all in agreement! This show couldn't do any better to disway teenagers from being young mothers. I watch the shows with my fifteen and seventeen year old daughters. Perfect for teens and parents to watch together as it opens up dialogue where typically teens might not want to participate. Bonus-this show is HIGHLARIOUS!!!

Re: racingwhorses – Becoming garbage??? You are too kind…it's been garbage for years.

I agree with the commenters, we are NOT in agreement. This show does a great job of showing how f-cked up teen motherhood can be, and as part of a public affairs initiative I think it works really well for MTV. These girls have strong, hard stories, and it can be easy to empathize with Maci for dealing with her horrible ex-boyfriend or recognize domestic violence when it comes from the woman in the relationship. Sixteen and Pregnant is not the only show that MTV counts among its most popular - The Buried Life and World of Jenks, shows that showcase humanitarian efforts, are big too. Get educated, Perez.

  13. 13

im sure there are plenty of girls out right now getting pregnant in hopes of being on the show…

americans are truelly insane (except perez)

  14. 14

wow. and bad girls club is SUCH a cerebral, mind-expanding piece of television. you are such a hypocrite.

  15. 15

I think the show does quite a good job of showing how screwed up being a teen mom is. Any girl who watches that show and decideds to get pregnant was effed in the head longggg before MTV decided to air this show. I think its quite amusing though prez that you & your staff think so lowly of ths show yet you OBESS over useless things like Girls Aloud? I would much rather america want to know whats causing so many issues in this country. Babies having babies is killing this country.

  16. 16

these kids are making 60 grand a year to be on 16 and pregnant :( mtv should face jail time over this .

  17. 17

so wrong . these kids are being paid 60 grand a year to be a teen mom . mtv should face charges .

  18. 18

I'm 16 and I've been watching this show since the original cast was on 16 and pregnant. The original cast is what keeps me watching hopefully they make a different show with them on it. This show does not glamourize teen pregnancy, it shows how hard it is being a teen mom. This show makes me want to wait until I'm older to have a child.

When I'm not busy slinging drinks for a living, I answer questions for ChaCha. We all know that it's mostly teenagers that text in. I cannot tell you how many of these girls text in wanting to know the best way to ensure getting pregnant. They want to know how to contact Teen Mom. They want to know the symptoms of pregnancy. And they actually get upset at us if they don't have the signs. I've never been more amazed.
While it may not glamorize teen pregnancy, it does provide drama and fleeting fame. And teens thrive on that drama and want a part of that fame, no matter what.

Re: TORTEZ – PREACH! Good point.

  21. 21

I have been watching the new season of 16 and Pregnant. I must say that they really show it in a realistic way. How hard it is to be a pregnant teen and then teen parents. I hope that young people watch it so they can see what it really is like. It isn't at all what they think it is like. At the end of every show the new teen mom talks about whether or not she would have waited knowing what it is like now and she ALWAYS SAYS YES! I also like how they show their little reports on how it is 100% preventable and they have a website to go to.

  22. 22

Perez, STFU. Its not only a good show, but it shows the hardships of being a teen mom. Any teen watching would say "Fuck. I don't want to end up like that!"

  23. 23

Also (in addition to my previous comment) these young moms are providing a way to care for their children, Perez. They are no more of a sale out than you are, Mr. "Actor" so leave them alone. You think this show is going to stop teen pregnancy? Get a clue, its going to happen either way. It was happening before and its going to continue to happen.

  24. 24

Disagree also. It shows pretty well how hard being a young parent is. You don't even watch the show, and commenting that "sad commentary on what America is watching on TV?" but you are hosting Bad Girl's Club, complete and utter garbage. Ha! You are obsurd and seriously an idiot.

  25. 25

Re: kakeordeth – Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. Don't get all high and mighty Perez.Teen Mom is a better show then the one you affiliate with.Whores drinking and fighting.

  26. 26

Everyone seems to forget this show is a reality show but is still a planned scripted show… What we see on the TV and the actual rewards (money, lavish parties and food and makeovers etc…) that all happens outside of the show and those luxuries are all that matter to these girls so the dissappointment is that this show does deter people from wanting to be teenage moms but I am also sure it shows that even an uneducated teenager raising a baby can become famous so this is the part that the young ladies that watch see not the negatives therwise this sow would've failed from the get go… All reality TV BS needs to stop especially MTV and TLC produced ones! Game shows like Survivor are one thign but this whole EDTV genre of television programming is sad…

Re: vanhelsing bride – So true.

  28. 28

I love this show and I let my kids watch it too. Because I don't think it glorifies teen moms, I think it shows the struggles etc they have to go thru and that most teenage guys will tell you anything to get what they want but when it comes down to the baby thing most of them are not mature enough to or willing to help with the baby! I know for a fact that my girls have learned alot from watching this show. Although It is an interesting show, It also teches girl how things really go!!!!! LOVE IT!!

  29. 29

You know what? Maybe you're not calling people names anymore, but you are still acting like a jerk! I knew you would not change for long…I'm disappointed! :(

  30. 30

Re: racingwhorses – i agree with you! MTV is garbage

  31. 31

Honestly, I could watch the Teen Mom girls for as long as possible!! Not only did my mind change completely about the show itself, but it's now my favourite show!
These girls are strong and independent and truly and inspiration to other young girls out there. Not their mistakes, but how they dealt with them, is truly the inspiring part.

Re: rosebud99 – That's a really general message that I think you're own brain manifested, and it's not exactly true. Takes all kinds of people to make trash tv.. Don't blame the moms.. blame the exploitative networks.
