Oh screw her, I heard her recently whining about how this generation is always texting/so out of touch with the world's problems. Errrmmm, I'm sorry, wasn't yours responsible for all these STDs, the one where there was a huge amount of drug use which you've exhibited numerous times.

Patti Smith is an amazing artist that has been around performing since before most of us were born. She definitely put her own spin on it and I think it's great!

This is like almost 4 years old. It was released on her album Twleve back in 2007. And @jennycakes Courtney would have already given her consent for this to be covered. You can't just release a cover of someone elses song without securing the rights to it first. Dumbass.

Wow, I must be starving for something other than pop music which is all I ever hear lately. That sounded awesome, and I've never even liked anything she's ever done. One beef though, does she emulate Bob Dylan in her other stuff too? She tries to make the song too political at the end though - it's just a stoner song, it's not supposed to change the world…or even reflect that much of it.

Apparently you have Patti confused with someone else (Stevie Nicks, maybe?). Patti never said any of the things you stated or exhibited drug use (not to say she didn't possibly do drugs). Patti walked away from the music scene in the late 70s to focus on her family after she got married and had kids, and returned after her husband died in the 90s although she had a minor comeback with one album in the 80s).
And what is wrong with someone saying people this generation text too much or are out of touch? Is it not true?
