It's On! Mel Going For Full Custody!
All this time, a lot of people assumed that Mel Gibson was just going to give Oksana Grigorieva everything she wanted in light of the horrible way he spoke to her in those revolting taped phone conversations. But Mad Max Mel isn't backing down and sources now report that during next Monday's hearing , Mel will request sole custody from the judge for their 1-year-old daughter.
According to trial documents, Mel's legal team will attempt to turn the tables and strip Oksana of her custody rights, having the judge grant her limited, monitored visitations. They believe they have a strong enough case against Oksana to make this work, especially now that she has disobeyed the judge's recent gag order and went on Larry King Live to trash talk Mel.
She better produce some pretty damaging evidence against Mel NOW if she has any chance of securing her rights to her baby!

I watched Oskana on LK and was inspired by her courage to stand up against money, power and fame and to do all she can to protect her baby. Mel is a monster…the tapes proves it and what he is doing now proves it. It is all about power for abusers. If he loved his baby, he would do all he could to settle this peacefully.

I am torn on this - if I google "verbal abuser" then I see a lot of things Mel said to her in order to control her - I think he did love her "a lot", but now she has poked the fire so to speak and has stirred such anger in him that yes she is going to get burned. In my heart I know Mel would never hurt a child, but she hurt him deeply and he is never going to let her get away with that.

I'm not a fan of Mel, he lost me years ago, even before the dwi, etc. But I've paid attention to the details of this case… this woman is lying like crazy. The inconsistencies in her story are astounding. I've been on the receiving end of domestic abuse from a lover… and I would never speak in support of someone that I thought was beating a woman. I'm just not believing her. Way too many inconsistencies.
Unless she has done something horrible directly to that child, there is no reason for her to lose her child. Custody has NOTHING to do with her relationship with Mel. A young baby SHOULD be with their mother - if she was snatched away now - there is going to be some definite long term emotional drama.

Not all mothers are better at raising children than a father! There are plenty of fathers out there, that can and do, do a much better job. And yes, I am a mother… one who is backing fathers that get the shit end of the stick, usually simply because they don't have the boobs in the equation!!!

He is paying to have his lawyers fake the case against Oksana. They have nothing. Mel's lawyers are delaying and delaying. Who would want their child with this man?
They could be preparing for her extortion case. If she's found guilty there, and Mel hasn't established his custody ruling, then there's a possibility of the child being turned over to somebody else. I do believe Mel's side is telling the truth about having more than enough evidence while Oksana has repeatedly come up with smoke and mirrors. She should have done an amicable split when she had the chance. Now, she's going to be out for millions she doesn't have and facing a possible felony.
I agree with Debbie's statement. Victimizing a victim over and over again is simply evidence that we are not as civil a civilization as we like to think. This move also goes to Mel's character — that is to say, none at all.
For one I don't think Mel would ever hurt that child. I think she would be better off with him, because Oksana is a lying, extortionist. Of all the stuff she has pulled, she hasn't had that baby's best interest in mind. Mel Gibson's other children seem to be fine. We don't hear of them getting locked up, drugging it up or getting DUI's. So him and his ex-wife must have done something right. I just think Oksana is taking advantage, I think she got Mel all riled up and then hit record. Not what he said was good, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who have fought with a significant other and said things that they regret and are embarrassed about in the heat of the moment. She was told not to say anything to media outlets and she didn't listen. If Mel doesn't get custody, I think that the judge should drop her child support down to at least half of what she is getting and make her pay for her own damn house.

I keep wondering if she is being erroneously advised by someone or someones who relish sticking it to Gibson and don't give two hoots about what happens to her or her custody in the long run.
Listen…just by reading all of this it proofed to me that Mel is the bad one here. Yes Oksana is all over the place..but wouldnt you if you had less of the financial capacity he has to get what he wants. Wouldnt you use TV and everything else to build your case against one of the most powerful people in hollywood? Why after all of this would it be in the childs best interest to be with Mel? why? If he wanted to show true sincerity..he should have filed for joint custody. Showing that no matter what happened between the two of them, they are still that child parents. I understand why he's going for custody. She really has given him no choice. Her smear campaign against her child's father has been beyond the pale, and is very concerning. I've never smelled such enormous manipulation. He's not innocent, but did not try to paint her badly in the press.
