That's just fucked up. Sometimes we take our system way for granted.

It's interesting how American Government chooses to "bring peace" to countries which have oil supplies under false pretense of having nuclear weapon but they pretend to be too blind to see human rights being crushed in China.
No need to "bring peace" there ?
I know, I know - one should not attack one's loan creditor.

Re: MidnightPeace – Exactly! Didn't see the US give a rat's ass either when the Rwandans were killing a million of their own people in their civil war. But hey, they were just poor black people with no oil to steal either.

Why did they put the woman in prison since - if I read well - it is her fiance who tweeted?

Re: MidnightPeace – It might interest you to know that the USA's record on human rights is so much worse than China's. And that's a fact, if you read anything other than Perez Hilton you can read for yourself. The Chinese think the Americans are a load of hypocrites. Guantanamo Bay being an example. Just saying…

Re: curiousred – Becurze she posted an addendum to his original tweet.

wait, didn't you go to China on vacation and spend your dollars supporting their system?? yeah, I thought so, hypocrite ….you will never change who you really are, and that's a bully and a hyprocrite

Re: KIKI1986 – Yeah but at least they know proper grammar. There, as in "Look over there!" They're as in "They are not cool."

Why is it sad… she wasnt anyway punished by the fact of using "tweet" since chinese people can actually access to other type of communication media (hello World of Warcraft). The issue was that she was talking bad stuff about Japanese people. Period. She is an activist? Doing what? Smashing japanese?. She deserves the punishment.

So would you be fine with it if some bigot sent out a Tweet calling for violence against gays while violent protests against gays were already going on in the streets?

  15. 15

Wow we all need to be so thankful for our 1st amendment here in the US!

    Re: MidnightPeace – well said.

China is superior to us for this reason. They aren't corrupted. Their society isn't garbage. We allow the media/entertainment industry to corrupt our minds. They don't.

Wait- why was she punished? As far as I know anti-Japanese behavior is supposedly cool in China. At least the Chinese government is taking great care to raise their children in schools to hate Japan. Don't understand this messed up government. Would like to see China some day, but not with this f***ed up government in charge.
