    I love Janet, however, she DOES NOT have 35 numbre one hits on the Billboard Hot 100. The Beatles have the most, follwed by Mariah Carey and then Elvis.

    Hey there: 35 of her songs have topped a chart. Some songs have topped multiple charts. For example, she had 10 songs in the US that topped the singles chart, and some of those (i.e. "Miss You Much" or "All For You") topped many other charts as well. Other #1's were released for club play only (i.e. "Make Me" is an example of a #1 dance chart topper that was released to radio). Also, the R&B singles chart does not follow the same pattern as the US singles charts. She has had something akin to 16 #1's on the R&B chart (some of them were also #1 on the singles and/or adult contemporary and/or singles charts in various countries). An example of a #1 singles chart topper is "Black Cat," but it got to only #10 on the R&B chart, whereas "Nasty" went #1 on R&B but not on the singles chart. So, by that "stretch of the imagination" Janet Jackson can truthfully and rightfully claim to have secured 35 #1 hits.

    She has 35 #1s that were #1 on various charts….the dance charts, r&b charts, pop charts, etc. No one ever said she has 35 Hot 100 #1's.

In the US she has had 10 #1's on the US singles chart alone, and that doesn't begin to include the other singles that peaked in the top 5, top 10, or top 20 of that one chart. In addition to this she has had several tens of singles chart to various degrees on most of the charts around the world.

    Janet Jackson has has 38 Hits on the Billboard charts, and yes she's had 35 #1's if you count the world. Look outside your little bubble called the USA people, it's a big world out there. lol

    I don't know if people are just too young to know or are just stupid, ignorant morons. Billboard just named her the 5th most successful artist of the last 25 years. Get your heads out of your asses.

    To everyone hating, Billboard has more charts than just the Hot 100. She probably has 35 #1s on ALL of the charts, not just the Hot 100. Get your facts straight. Janet is a legend, and will always be a legend.

    "35 Number One Hits". ANYBODY can have a number one these days there are SO many charts. Remember when a Number One meant ONE thing? Being Number One on the Billboard Hot 100!!! Now that means shite! Didn't she cancel her last planned tour? She hasn't had a HIT in YEARS (a REAL hit. Number One on the Dance/Club charts does not qualify). ANOTHER 2 hour show of her lip-synching all her 'hits' from the 80's… YAWN! Sounds to me like someone is trying to capitalize on MJ's death…. BTW, she looks like SHIT w/that haircut…

    For those arguing that she has had 35 number-one hits (I never said it has to be #1 Billboard Hot 100 to count), please list which songs were #1 and on which charts they were #1. It may be technically true that she has had "35 number-one hits," but I wanted to know literally by what stretch of the imagination we were using—is one of them #1 in Belgium only and #77 everywhere else? Just asking what the songs are and where they were #1. #1 on the R&B charts, dance charts, pop charts, or also is she stretching that to include a song that was #1 in airplay in Timbuktu for a day in the late '80s? Janet is obviously an icon and major artist, but "35 Number Ones" is ostentatious as hell. Just say "35 Huge Hits", lol.
