Listen To This: Belgian Fabulousness!

| Filed under: Listen To ThisFrancophiliaStromae

This has been a big hit in France and Belgium, and we understand why.

This song is sooooooooo hot!

It's so hot, in fact, that we think it could be a hit in America, even though it's not in English!

Judge for yourself by checking out Alors On Danse by Stromae (above)!

  3. 3

Hey Perez!! Stromae is actually from Belgium, but famous here in France! If you like that you have to check out House'llelujah by him too!!! I love it and listen to it everyday!

  4. 4

Perez, this is song is old news! hahah

  5. 5

    it's belgian, not french!

  6. 6

Perez, you're a moron! Do you even KNOW what he's saying??! idiot.

  7. 7

OMG PEREZ!! It's been a big hit in Europe not just French. The radiostations have been playing this since the spring. You americans really don't know anything about what's going on outside of you're country!!

  8. 8

    HAHA… Delusional Mario

  9. 9

wow…americans are so out of date…this has been a huge hit in europe for aaaaages now

  10. 10

It's actually one of the most annoying, generic pieces of dance trash I've ever heard.

  11. 11

this is a great song i have in my ipod since a couple of months ago… hit in America? i will be glad if i listen to it at the clubs, although if "Like a G6" was able to be a #1 hit (jaw dropping), there's hope… btw, pinche very pinche video…

  12. 12

That song is a massive in Sweden since several months back.

  13. 13

That song is a massive hit in Sweden since several months back.

  14. 14

This is actually not new. It's been playing in Europe since summer. Don't know what they are saying but I like it. There are many other songs here that have good beats that I think would do well in the states if they were in english.

  15. 15

LOL! This started playing in montreal a loooooooong time ago. Don't understand how you never heard it in the US

I am from Romania. and here it is already a big hit… i'm sick and tired of hearing it, even though i liked it at first.

  20. 20

Hi Perez! Stromae is from Belgium, but the song is in French. It has been a number 1 hit in the Netherlands, too. But the song's really old. Do you know Caro Emerald? Best singer ever!

  21. 21

So late of you.. Been listning to this since new years..

  22. 22

This was a big hit in Europe - but thanks to radio play…I can't stand it anymore.

  23. 23

this is an older song but i live in france and still love it :)

  24. 24

Little slow… it's been out for ages. Like since the beginning of last summer… and I'm not even in Europe!

  25. 25

Well I just looked up the lyrics and they're far from "fabulous".

  26. 26

Relax people! Perez never said it was a new song. He just said it was a hit song in Belgium and France and he liked it. Can't people just listen to the song without ragging on Perez and saying that they heard it first? Big deal! He likes the song, he put it on his website, simple as that. Move on….

  27. 27

God Perez it is hit For more than a half year in Europe :D

  28. 28

this song has been playing in Canadian clubs for months…..

  29. 29

    so old………

  30. 30

Everyone from Europe.. this is why we, in the US, don't hear music from Europe too often and why it's so hard for someone to 'break into the US music from another country'. The US doesn't have a National radio station.. each city.. each town.. most high schools and university's have their own station and each one gets to play which ever music they want.. some play only classical, some play rock, some country and some are just talk radio … so if a song is popular in say..Chicago it might not even hit the air waves in Iowa.. a song has got to be a major hit for a lot of stations to play it and for a lot of people to hear it.

  31. 31

i heard this in spain & turkey last summer… LATE

  32. 32

    Алена Даст

  33. 33

This song is old, but since i never listen to the radio i still like it.

  34. 34

Yeah Perez you're kinda late on this one, but the Kanye remix of Alors On Danse is pretty good though.

  35. 35

wow this song is complete garbage! if this is the future of music ,we're fucking doomed.

  36. 36

Soooo LATE! It's a HUGE Hit in Denmark..! A number 1 hit! Even though 97% of the people dont speak or understand french..

  37. 37

it seems like ages ago that this was out..its big in the netherlands too!

  38. 38

Re: bjh2259Re: kittycats – dont think all americans are like perez….

  39. 39

    I hate that song.
Heard it so many times I'd probably get sick listening to it again.

  40. 40

this has been a hit for atleast 6 months in canada….

  41. 41

This is the first time Im hearing this song. It has a good beat but I don't think its ever gonna get big here in America, cause us Americans we like understanding the lyrics to a song before we play it. If it was remade in English then maybe it would have a shot.

  42. 42

Perez, I live in the United Arab Emirates for Christ Sake and I've heard of this!! How bloody late are you!!? XD

  43. 43

SoOOOOO AWESOME!!! J'aime le dance. It's great! Thanks for sharing. INTERESTING video too! Have a great weekend Perez!

  44. 44

Re: MrsLaura – We have radio stations like that in Europe too XD We're not completely retarded and backwards, as Americans think…

  45. 45

This song was huge during the summer in Belgium, a little late that you posted it, but at least you did post it; so thanks!
There A LOT MORE Belgian artists who deserve more credit in the world, we have some amazing singers

  46. 46

Oh Perez darling you are so late! This song was a hit in early spring maybe the beginning of summer at the latest. Try watching an european music channel, you'll hear some new songs, cause this one is over!

  47. 47

Try listening to the rest of the album also…its fab! Oldie but a goodie!

  48. 48

I say its about time, considering that the song had been out for quite some time now. His whole album is in fact AMAZING, "Te Quiero" "Rail de musique" "Dodo", so I'm glad to see you catch on finally. He needs to have at least the same kind of festival-circuit success that Yelle has in US.

And actually, I heard this song several times in US clubs already, either in entirety or sampled in, so there.

perez just stick to hollywood, ruining others people's lives and taking advantage of the effect you have on people is starting to get to you head, you can't be the queen of everything this song is so old

  50. 50

Hey Perez, check >Jump to itTe quiero

  51. 51

OMG this was European hit and its really old, Americans……….. always late

  52. 52

I have no idea what they are saying but I love the beat

  53. 53

Not too late for me!! Ipoding it! hot!!

  54. 54

big hit alll over europe MONTHS ago

  55. 55

p.s there is even a kayne west remix its epic

  56. 56

Re: Biebers #1 Fan – it would be terrible in english, its good because its in french.

  57. 57

Cute singer and fun dance tune.

  58. 58

Old news it was a big hit here in ireland too at the start of the summer aswell as in england and Turkey !!!

  59. 59

Too late is right this was a big hit here in Ireland at the start of the summer aswell as in England and Turkey !!

  60. 60

Do you want the translation??? It's old and really good but coming from Belgium it's quite amazing! We have so many wonderful other singers and groups…

  61. 61

This had been playing in Canada for a year

  62. 62

this is soooooo old, a tune though

  63. 63

how americans "so late" to listen to a song we cannot even understand?? it was honestly not good anyway the chorus was a little catchy but that's about it. but if you think we're "late" then why do the rest of the world love OUR artists and OUR music more than even your own? yeah, we're late ;]

  64. 64

the people on here don't represent the rest of the world very well as a person who's never left the US you all look like a bunch of snobs to me

  65. 65

  66. 66

    Are you from the past?

  67. 67

Re: BAEEAB – you obviously don't understand shit about this song, the lyrics are actually quite depressing idiot. there's is nothing pop in this amazing song.

  68. 68

You are very late. But yes, the song is awesome. It's even a hit in Latin America at this point.

By the way, you're so late, that a not-as-good English version's already been made. By Lumidee, of all people…

  69. 69

love the song, still! there s actually an english version out there, it's called 'so now we dance' I think.. check it out! :-)

the fact that this song is soooooooo famous here in EGYPT makes you…I'm Egyptian and i know this song is hot and you can hear people playing it in the streets here in EGYPT :p

  71. 71

I remember hearing this as a remix on the radio in Sicily back in July. I had no idea what the name of it was, so thanks! Good times :)

  72. 72

EXTREMELY LATE!!!!!! Ha, I've been in love with this song for the longest time now.

  73. 73

If the words are depressing, I believe it. The poor guy in the video looks like the walking dead. It's a catchy little tune though.

  74. 74

Je suis une americaine, mais j'ai étudié en France pendant six mois et je sais que cette chanson est très populaire en France. Il est vrai que c'est une chanson magnifique

  75. 75

perez are you kidding me. this is huge in canada. has been for a while, in fact its on its way out

  76. 76

    Dear Perez,

this has been one of the biggest hits this summer ALL OVER EUROPE, not only in France and Belgium. You couldn't got one step without it being played on the radio, in discos, on music channels etc.
But you are right, it's not very often that a song in French is that successful abroad, but Stromae made it. And I agree that this song could also work in the States. There's definitely some potential.

  77. 77

and i heard theyre playing happy birthday to you at parties these days as well!

  78. 78

Perez, you are a fucking idiot.

  79. 79

Wow that's just….blah. The world has bad taste this time.

  80. 80

So late, Kanye did a remix with Stromae of this song already.

  81. pcguy says – reply to this

funny story…one would have had to live under a rock to not have heard this song before

  82. 82

    Re: cherryONtop927
Can you not speak for other people. Believe me, I'm from Europe and I like European artists a lot more than American. You have to get over this: American artists are not superiour over other artists, some might say that other artist don't sell out as easily as Americans do!
At least when I go clubbing I can hear amazing music that's from all over the world. We in Europe aren't so close-minded that we only listen to artists who live in the country we are from.
If you would actually understand the lyrics, you'd understand the genious that is Stromae. If you would get your head out of your ass you would discover something that is called the world and everything else that is in it. And you could maybe be smart enough to use the internet to find music outside of America that is so much better than some of the crap Americans produce.

FYI, Belgium has several Dance groups who are known all over the world. You just don't know because you're too stupid to realize there's more to the world than America.
